I'm recommending spending a favor and gold (we got loads of them) to get a third Magister (i'm asuming that she knows more then just our own master) or a non-wizard of equivalent level or other alternative to cross out a shit load of our backlog.

For instance, Aqua Vitae does not have to be just something of ours. Maybe bringing all 8 collage will speed up the research? As long as we're the only owner of it's source, i'm game for it. Also, leverage the fact that we have TWO rune grand master in the mountain.

Same with the ratling guns and other skaven goods. (that Johann did not mind to share.. no need to ruin our relation with him).

Why?

Because those un-research items are potentials that can be use to save our neck anyday. Like in X-com we need to add our scientist to make sure the rate of reverse engineering is acceptable.

We are good, but it's time to leverage humanity's greatest ability. Its ability to network and to solve a problem collectively.

That being said....

I really wants her to develop a fighting ability to maximize Branulhune's ability to appear and dissaappear.. perhaps using our shadow tetacles to swing it around like a telekinetic and having it appear on our hands?

Tossing favors at hiring magisters is done in SUPPORT of our chosen task. Not to replace it.

Not unless you have a specific and tangible action.
BoneyM isn't going to let us buy actions that make him write more per update with Favor, especially when said action will generate Favor.

I like a plan that has Max and Johann work respectively on the Ratling.

Though I wonder who'd get the schematics when they're done, considering the Dwarfs would be unlikely to want use Skaven tech or allow it to be mass produced within Mathilde's lifetime. Nuln would be more open but then how do you garantuee security from Skaven sabotage or the weapon itself not disrupting warfare like the machinegun did historically?

[X] Plan: Queekish Reading v2
-[X] MAX: Bring him into the classified study on Warptech and have him assist Johann with the Ratling Gun.
-[X] JOHANN: Join him on raids into Clan Mors territory with the aim of finding written correspondence.
-[X] DUCK: Gretel's motivated by wealth. Take her on a raid against Clan Mors, looking for wealth and Queekish.
-[X][EIC] Have the Eight Peaks branch keep a careful eye on the mood and actions of the Undumgi.
-[X][Task] Blue Tower: build a tower that uses Azyr to create clear sky on demand.
-[X][Task] Red Tower: build a tower that uses Aqshy to create mystical flames (and non-mystical light) to use the mountain at night.
-[X][Qrech] Supply a steady stream of Queekish documents for him to translate, and carefully check the results for consistency.
-[X][Gambit] Convince Qrech that the Empire has already translated Queekish, but his help could provide a faster turnaround and better help you plan an attack on Clan Mors.
-[X] Travel to the Grey College and attend lessons there. (1 College Favour per class; 100gc can be paid instead for non-magical classes)
--[X] Spend 10 favour to reschedule all classes so you get a roll for every spell
-[X][Serenity] The ability of Alkharad to assume a projected form of mist.
-[X][Penthouse] Add security measures to your Penthouse to prevent surreptitious entry.
-[X] The Deceiver: Use it to sell our Qrech Gambit.

[] Plan Steady Progress
-[] MAX: Study an artefact: Skaven electric whip, stolen from Clan Moulder.
Get Max back to work working through our artefacts we don't have a personal interest in pursuing.
-[] JOHANN: Join him on raids into Clan Mors territory with the aim of finding written correspondence.
-[] DUCK: Gretel's motivated by wealth. Take her on a raid against Clan Mors, looking for wealth and Queekish.
Building up a stash of Queekish for translation purposes.
-[][EIC] Found an auditors division, to make sure the ledgers are in order.
Keep the EIC working in good order. Even with good intentions it is easy for things to slip through.
-[][Task] Red Tower: build a tower that uses Aqshy to create mystical flames (and non-mystical light) to use the mountain at night.
Solve the night problem without too much further investment needed. Perhaps it might be nice to defend against Ice Dragon attack, but we can only do so much.
-[][Qrech] Supply a steady stream of Queekish documents for him to translate, and carefully check the results for consistency.
--[][Qrech] Convince Qrech that the Underempire has no way of knowing he's even alive, and that he should prioritize the comfort with which he will live the rest of his life.
Turn our Queekish documents into translations. That is what he is here for, no sense making statements we can't back up with evidence (Empire already able to translate) or
-[] Travel to the Grey College and attend lessons there. (1 College Favour per class; 100gc can be paid instead for non-magical classes)

-[][Vitae] Investigate the exact circumstances required to induce a transformation.
Vitae research, we not yet at the stage with this research to bring it up as a potential council action or of deciding to keep working on it in our own time. The only way we are going to get it done is to steadily chip away at the research until we're done. This is a long term investment for eventual pay off down the line. Just the kind of thing a Loremaster should be working on.
-[][Serenity] Write a paper: Your personal understanding of countering Waaagh Magic.
-[][Penthouse] Add security measures to your Penthouse to prevent surreptitious entry.
The current biggest threat is Eschin assassin wondering in either to take our life or to grab/kill our prisoner.
-[] Wolf is fully grown and a Very Good Boy. Train him. (increases his intelligence, he may learn to speak Praestantia)
Our Library guardian needs to be smart enough to appreciate the job.

This is a plan that doesn't focus on any particular option but makes progress in every area needed.

For voter convenience:
[] Plan Translation Extraction

-Focuses on the Skaven, just finishing the night light issue and trusting that dwarf hellfire can burn through clouds and fog in a reasonable amount of time.
-Saves College Favor to learn only Invisibility.
-Lower chance of avoiding negatrait, but our odds are still pretty good.

[] Plan Translation Extraction, 10 Pull Gacha Edition

-Focuses on the Skaven, just finishing the night light issue and trusting that dwarf hellfire can burn through clouds and fog in a reasonable amount of time.
-Spends College Favor to learn all three unknown spells
-Mathematically almost impossible to get the negatrait, success on any one of three easy rolls is enough.

[] Plan Translation Extraction (Ultimate Tower Edition)

-Be the best tower that you can be. Any time of day, any weather. Incidental benefits in having a weather controller
-Still has a substantial focus on translation, just not quite total.
-Saves College Favor to learn only Invisibility.
-Lower chance of avoiding negatrait, but our odds are still pretty good.

The Dwarfs already have clatterguns. They are similar to single barrel automatic weapons. The dwarfs are unlikely to use the ratling because they already have equivalents, they just only use them on Gyrocopters.

Okay, what's the lie that you think will make him happily teach you Queekish?

The line of "Some Imperial factions already know it but the %&$@ers won't share" is pretty good for that. Along with "Mathilde want's to know it just for her own advantage." and "If you don't help, some other prisoner will get the luxuries."

I've never gotten the impression that Queekish is something the Skaven are particularly guarded about. Stupid humans and stunties don't know how to talk properly because they're stupid, yes yes. This guy knows for a fact that the Dawi Zharr have taken live captives before - the cat's possibly out of the bag with one enemy anyway.

Finally, the defensive priority is ass backwards anyway. Written Queekish will spread quicker beyond K8P because it's easier to write books on. Spoken must be taught person to person so the main victims will be our immediate enemies - i.e. Mors. Important prisoners taken anywhere are more likely to know an order tongue and/or to be carrying documents than scrubs are - that's where racial level harm comes in. We want to get spoken more urgently than written because local security comes first and we have a steady supply of low level captures.

Unfortunately the last paragraph is true so the deceiver won't help convince him (not that we'd want him to clam up on the written side either.)

Might as well do both, I guess.

(OK, but seriously, I think it is legitimately a bad idea for us to have two identical plans with different names, and either @Redshirt Army or @veekie should cede it to the other before things get more confusing.)
Clearly both plans should just include voting for the other as part of the plan.
I'm sure the tally bot will appreciate this!
