[X] ENTRANCE: Pleasant foyer

[X] Shrine to Ranald

Choosing the shrine mostly to show interest, not because I think it'll win. We definitely need to jump on that temple though, guys, Ranald's our boy (even if he's an ass).

[X] DUCK: Work with Panoramia for her to finally get around to investigating the greenskin mushrooms she found.

[X] DUCK: Johann's investigation into the ratling gun has hit a wall. See if you can help.

But I do wonder what the counter-argument to the Ranald Gambler Shrine would be, given so many voters aren't going for a private shrine to Ranald during the first wave of underground building.
I, at least, am not voting for a private shrine to Ranald exactly because I intend to vote for a Gambler Shrine next turn. A private shrine seems redundant.

[X] DUCK: Help Johann try to raise his new rat-wolf pups. With Wolf, if he's willing.

Honestly if you think about it, human assistance might be a way for the Dwarves to begin doing some of the stuff they could do back in the glory days. Mainly the stuff that required High Elven magical assistance to do, which can at least be partially substituted with Human Wizards.

I don't understand the range of our new weapon, and where the shadow falls or when, the comment about two months at year coverage lost me. Can somebody explain it to me? And edit the map to show where the shadows fall?

Also, I want to ask the thread first in case that boney already answered this, but the talk of the magisters about the range of the shadow made me think: can the trick with the sun be used to make the shadow longer (putting the sun in an angle more acute with the ground) and close the gaps in our defenses (if they exist).

The comments about range/time of the year were about the natural heigh of sun over the horizon (the higher the sun, the shorter the shadow), which changes with season and latitude.

It was made totally irrelevant by the tower being able to change the sun's position.

Moving the sun can totally be used to extend the reach of the shadow, and will be used as such. The shadow can cover all the approaches to k8p and a chunk of the Death Pass.

When the Tower proves itself, we should try getting together with a dwarf engineer and a dwarf chemist, and build a warmachine to be able to weaponize this even in the tunnels.
Get a light source: If dwarven chemistry is as advanced as medieval alchemy, they'll have phosporus. it burns quite brightly i've heard...
Craft a bound spell that converts shadow to acid, targeting whatever you're fighting

Pretty sure that for the lower range not enhanced version Mathilde just needs to enchant an appropriate item.

The winds of magic, being winds don't flow underground without help, though if any did it would be Ulgu, being the mist wind.
Basically that project requires a ulgu powerstone or a ulgu wizard.

I have to say that I don´t think we should work all that hard to become a Magister Lord... The greatest thing that we had for it is that it would unlock Battle Magic, but since we have already unlocked it I don´t know think we are in a hurry... I still want to become one, but we can just wait and the Grey Order will eventually give Mathilde that tittle once they considers us ready...
I'm thinking of it less in putting in extra work that she would not do otherwise and more as having a sort of goal to work forward in what she already does. As an example, I'd want to get Mathilde to Magic 9 anyway, but I have an easier time slotting it in as a specific achievement that can be completed instead of just seeing it as part of an endless sea of stuff Mathilde could spend her time on.

Basically, it lets me group action slots by goals, with the groups themselves being part of a hierarchical structure. Let's me think of future plans easier since I can differentiate by multi-turn goals instead of just comparing every single action.
