Yeah; we have to spend our own Favour on it, but honestly? I love the notion of an elegant, tastefully decorated beautiful foyer. There's a mural on the wall, there's a balcony with a beautiful view, there's a steel pillar radiating the nega-fire of Hell itself that has a small silver railing and a demure sign saying DO NOT TOUCH.

A checkpoint bristling with security is so... Hysh. We're of the Grey College. It's the stuff that you don't see that you should be scared of. Yeah, I'll shell out Dwarf Favour for that.
Checkpoint likely doesn't have the opportunity for a carpet trapdoor either, which is why it doesn't get my vote.

That's an amazing chapter, and Bless Ranald! In light of this, I would like to make the following dedications to our patron:

[X] ENTRANCE: Pleasant foyer

All the better to deceive intruders.

[X] Vault

All the better to store the gifts HE gave us.

[X] Library

All the better to store lucre of knowledge purchased with HIS gifts!

[X] Shrine to Ranald

All the better to glorify his name

[X] Bedroom

Perhaps we should sleep beside his shrine, in HIS embrace?

Ranald x Mathilde! For the win!

As for Duck Actions:

[X] DUCK: Adela's interested in mechanics, see if anyone you can introduce her to would be willing to teach her.

Perhaps we could train Adela up into becoming Johann's research assistant.

[X] DUCK: Help Johann try to raise his new rat-wolf pups. With Wolf, if he's willing.

But I also want to climb aboard the Johann x Mathilde ship, and this is a time-limited offer, and we need more Wolf anyway.

So @BoneyM? What happens with negative favours? is it a case of we can't use any more until we are back in the black or do we now own a favour and have to spend an action on something for someone else if they ask for a 1 point worth of favour themselves.

I though you can use build a few dwarven runes into the tunnel ceilings that can light up like light bulbs when it senses Skaven to create the shadows for it to work.
That way you don't have dwarfs constantly guarding and shooting all the time.
That'd be less than comprehensive.
What you want for an Underway defense is probably some variant on Floor Is Lava...or you know, building a fuckoff thick wall so enemies have to pass through an artillery firing range. Its a tunnel, you can build a wall all the way to the top

He gave us rules for it back when we were considering spending Dwarf Favour into the negatives. We have 3 turns to recover to the positive and can't spend any more until we hit positive.

The good news is that we're writing a paper this turn, so unless we screw it up we should be back into positive favour before the turn ends.

Basically, yeah, if it's just 1 like we're currently in, we just pay it back at a reasonable point. It's only if you go over and then don't pay back that it starts hitting your rep.

Also, I don't think it's been pointed out yet (sorry if I just missed it) but Algard tossing us those power stones is huge. Each stone is worth 5 favour.

Involuntary Retirement Club
In 2472 a crack grey magister strike team was sent into hiding for crimes they definitely committed. These magisters promptly escaped from a maximum-security college campus to the Altdorf underground. Today, still wanted by the enemies of order they survive as servants of the empire. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire The Grey-Team.

Take the sword of Gazul and make it fashion.

Wolf is a good boy who doesn't get enough love. Also Johann makes me chuckle.

Since the way the Rune works to amplify the tower is tied to conceptually pairing the whole mountain with the Blade of Gazul, part of the firing sequence is definitely going to be slotting Branulhune into a matching receptacle, right? :V

Cool but impractical since that limits it to one person.

The control pedestal having a sword shaped controller would still work though
An obviously-sword-shaped receptacle linked to the arming mechanism is just one of the many traps for the oblivious, unwelcome and unwary.

In regards what to do with Ducklings: remember that the Ratwolf Pups won't be pups for much longer, that's a limited time offer.

Also, Wolf scenes.

Potentially magic-boosting shrooms would also be huge.

Involuntary Retirement Club, who made powerful enough enemies that even with their abilities, leaving the College grounds for extended periods is no longer feasible for them
If we didn't kill enemy lords so regularly we would probably be getting an invite from that club sooner rather than later.

you've been letting your natural talents for enchantment lie neglected, and when you figure out which lecture matches your current skill level you're more than a little put out to find yourself sharing the audience with apprentices.
We have been busy.

Voters in Belegar Quest: How many nat 100s did she get on this project?
GM: All of them.

Given that the Steel Rod is inarguably part of the tower and that it stretches from the top of the tower to the bottom of the mountain we can probably now argue that our tower is the tallest tower in the world. Ulthuan included.

Preliminary vote:
[X] DUCK: Magical target-shooting is rough on normal targets. Set up a specialized target range for your ducklings, and for any other wizards at Eight Peaks.
We have a bunch of high profile Wizards in temporary residence. Them seeing the proper facilities are being constructed will help attract more Ducklings.

If the mountain is being invaded successfully enough for an army to reach our penthouse we have already lost. We can do anti-intrigue defences without turning our front door into a checkpoint.

[X] Bedroom
[X] Library
[X] Vault

Mandatory.

[X] Shrine to Ranald
We owe him for those nat 6s.
