Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I could actually see Anton and Panoramia working really well but she's in eight peaks for the foreseeable future.

"Whiskers and warpstone? Oh yes. How many of those little messages are there, anyway?"

"A few. Most of the big ones you'll probably never need. There's a big one a bit further south from your current playground, but it's going on twenty-five centuries without a whisper and thank Sigmar for that.
Unrelated to the vote, but does anyone know what Regimand is talking about here? I am curious.

Remember when I talked about how we're not influential or established (as a bloodline) enough to need a blood heir? Well, Anton is those things, so we'd need to provide an heir and raise them. This is just... We don't have the damn time to stay at home like a housewife and give our husband kids! Seriously, why do all of the Warhammer quests HAVE to include a sudden focus on marriage and children? The others I could understand, since in most of those cases, we needed an heir, but this is not the case here at all, and there is barely any romantic chemistry between Mathilde and Anton. They are excellent friends, sure, but do they even share any interests? From what I can tell, people are just jumping at the first romantic option and forcing a focus on the relationship, out of nowhere, without thinking about the consequences.

But why would Mathilde do it?

She dislikes the countess. She is trying hard not to resent her successes and laugh at her failings, and is kind of failing to do that. Just now she tipped of Wilhemine about Stirlanders returning with coin to buy land and ripped off the countess via insider trading, all the while feeling great about herself.

Why the sudden change of heart?
Didn't say I want to do it just raised the possibility. I feel like putting everything I can think of on the table for the thread just in case.

Also, no one vote for "Marry me when I return"!

A Seed of Regrowth is nowhere near enough to shake off the deathflag called "I will marry my sweetheart after I return".

Does mean we'd need to have kids at some point, though.
We could always just adopt.

Yes, it would be non-traditional, but in that case Anton is already marrying a wizard that argueably gets along better with dwarves than with regular humans. The traditional Imperial family unit this ain't going to be.

Its a Shipping Waagh! :V:V:V
I think you'll find that most shippers are comparable to Orcs.

... Actually I would really like to see an AU where Greenskins were based on internet shippers instead of football hooligans.

No matter what position we end up picking, I do hope we end up filling out the holes in our spell-list and picking up the resultant +3 Magic.

That would be a dealbreaker for her. Julia has discovered she likes power and influence.
Hmm, maybe it's just me, but this seems concerning. A highly ranked spy who likes having power is potentially very bad, even if they're not a cultist or traitor or something.

For Anton's marriage, Reinhild seems like the most... I guess, Anton-ish, of the options from the admittedly little data we have on them. The others seem more focused on the business end of things, of potential profit from the marriage, but Reinhild seems more of a hard-working oddball (or at least, that's the mental image I get for a perpetually frazzled engineer with lots of ideas), which honestly kind of seems like it'd fit him?

For our position in the Karak, I want to be either the person who gets sent in to prod mysteries with a long stick, or the person who sneaks around the other Karaks and keeps potential problems in those from developing into actual problems. We're well suited to both roles and both seem interesting, so though I do slightly prefer internal spymaster I'm not hugely fussed which one we end up in.

As for Mathilde and romance, she just doesn't have any real romantic chemistry with any character at the moment, IMO. Until and unless that happens, I'd rather she stays single.

IIRC Khemri, and therefore Settra and the whole kettle of fish that is Nehekhara is directly south of Altdorf.

Edit: wait, it's south of K8P. Yeah, people are right, that's Nagashizzar/Cripple Peak. Place is swarming with undead, and what's left of Nagash is there too.

This is Stirland. It is lucky to have someone competent with the job. Liking power and influence is okay as long as she does not abuse it in ways that would harm Stirland.

Oh oh! We ship Anton with Neferata! There! Peace between humans and vampires achieved! :V

Is there anything a Grey Wizard like Marthilde can do on getting rid of the vampire corruption on Stirland and Sylvania, or is that done by wizards from other colleges and priests?

Mix of patriarchal power structures that people indulge in because of the semi-medieval setting and compulsory heterosexuality. I've been thinking about writing an essay on this exact thing, actually, but the response the odd problem thread got has put me way off.

The cynical grey wizard would poke the college and get some wagon train full of auditors when something is up. Wilhelmina is aware of this and Anton being a feudal lord means his share belongs to his house; so it wouldn't be a straight share addition but alliance.
We can expect that they will usually vote together though and putting Anton in the position of voting against his wife isn't going to do good things to any of our relationships.
One way or another we will win a conflict over the direction of the EIC but the more we have to escalate the more damage we do. It probably won't come up, Wilhelmina is more scrupulous than we are. Still, things change.

I don't know if her sons are stupid enough to be a problem.
