Yeah, TBH, just him being smol doesn't make him wrong, it just means that he's not going to be a front line killblender like most of the rest of the family is, and that's fine.

Nobody told Edward Elric that because he was smol he couldn't be a protagonist!
Are any of Freddy's grandchildren good future killblenders/generals? Or has it just been Freddy's children so far?
While it isn't anywhere to the same degree, wasn't Fred also weak and scrawny compared to his brothers? If anything this might be a chance him to get him to speak up about his upbringing to his kids.
Description: Though you stand at a relatively average height, you are certainly wider. Especially in the biceps and shoulders. A relatively short cut of blonde hair helps mark you out as the black sheep you were of the Hohenzollern family who were dominated by tall and black haired men and women. Your eyes are a dark green instead of the usual Hohenzollern blue, and all your time in the smithy has left you with a faint yet distinct smell of soot and molten metal. In other words, you looked entirely out of place in court next to your family. You usually wear armor that you made yourself, though you cannot possibly compete with the Runefang's craftsmanship.
Freddy might've been shorter than the rest of his family but he was still of average height. And he certainly wasn't scrawny.

The bigger difference seems to have been chromatic.

But frankly, while a lowish-Martial spouse might be fine once every few generations, two in a row is already looking a bit borderline.
We should probably engage our grandchildren to the progeny of good generals/killblenders. Funnel some Martial back into the main line since we've had enough Stewardship between Natasha and Sabine to last us the century(if we can protect our investments).

Hmm. I agree. Our line needs moar martial pumped into it.

I fuckin knew this would be an issue when we had a Hohenzollern marry someone who wasn't strongly built. There is too much badass packed into a Hohenzollern to marry weak bodied women/men.

Sabine and Natasha have the exact same base martial, and Magnus is only 2 points below Frederick. Give the kid a chance.

Honestly I think some good old fashion training, some halfling food and possibly some prayers to Shallya for health and Sigmar and/or Ulric for swole should be enough to fix the little guy up. I'd rather not pump him full of magic save as a last resort.

Seriously Shallya is nice and kind of owes us after all the good shit we do for her. I'm sure she'd be willing to help.

@torroar can invoking the gods for our grandson's sake be an option next turn?

One name for the Empire, one name for Kislev and one name of a bit more exotic kind.

Yep.

And even if he does wind up shorter than average...you know who else is kind of a shorty? Ortrud. And she's a badass.

Not being born built like a Space Marine is not a defect. Stop trying to fix him with magic

Merchant daughter is somehow equal to an ice witch who is sister of the ruler? Also it was just stated, Natasha is expected to give birth to that many so over the years would be well made for such a task.

I think you missed my point.

Magnus is still fine as far as Martial goes. As he rolled the maximum amount on individual variance(+3) on the Martial end of things. He's not quite as good as Freddy but is still fairly decent.
His kids on the other hand? Probably won't be rolling a +3 and would have less base Martial than Magnus even if they did.
As such, Freddy's grandkids could use a fresh injection of Martial. Especially if they end up average instead of being even mildly talented.
Yep.

3) Ortrud Hertwig is the first daughter of the current Elector Count of Ostermark, Klaus Hertwig. And she is something rare amongst all of your potential partners. A lot of people disregard the rural Ostermark as backwards and ridiculous farming folk. A lot of people forget that they consistently send troops to aid Kislev in its troubles with Chaos, more than any other province. Their soldiery are some of the most rugged and experienced around. Like Ortrud, a bona fide veteran of the Great War Against Chaos. She stood at the gates of Kislev itself and fought alongside the armies that Magnus brought forth. She ran up and down Kislev, and has spent the past two years helping clear Ostermark of the Chaos remnants who fled there. To be clear, she cleared Ostermark. Tabebecland, Ostland, Nordland, Kislev, and really much of the Empire is still caught in the throes of the remnants of the armies of the Everchosen. Not Ostermark. Ortrud. The word comes from the roots "ort," meaning "sword point," and "trud," meaning "power." Well. Makes sense.

Martial: 20+2=22
Stewardship: 18
Intrigue: 17
Piety: 8+3=11
Learning: 15

Trait: Strong – Born stronger than most (+2 Martial)
Trait: Humble – The daughter of a farming province that may be incredibly successful now but has never forgotten her roots. (+3 Piety)
Trait: War Veteran – A veteran of the Great War Against Chaos. Retains contact with other veterans across the Empire.
Ortrud has a base Martial of 20 and the Strong trait.
Magnus' son is rolling between 10 and 16 Martial(17+8=25/2=12.5 rounded up to 13, +/- 3 points of individual variance) and more than simply being small, might be frail or clubfooted.

Oskar being smol, well, that's OK. Sure, he's gonna have some envy over not being built like everyone else, but nothing wrong with being a scholar.

A Roosevelt! A Bull Moose!
Fittingly enough, I recently learned that moose can theoretically be found in the Old World. While I had previously thought they were exclusive to the americas, and therefore would be in naggaroth or w/e, it turns out that the IRL American Moose and the Eurasian Elk are the same species (Alces Alces) so having the son of the Screaming Bull be the Bull Moose isn't too far fetched
