Let's get started~

[X] Plan Penultimate Boss Fight
-[X] Begin by using Twilight Beauty and expressing both Zhengui and the Horror, use your new insight, GCD, your Fairy Flower headpiece, and all the techniques of TRF you can apply to survive the first turn. In addition, abuse the obstacle-rich environment to break contact with Liling whenever possible throughout the fight. Zhengui and the Horror are to buff and heal with Ashfall in the initial stages, until Dhartiri arises from ambush from one of the trees or massive roots that fill the area. Those two are to engage her then, keep her distracted as you finish layering IPF, SEA, and the rest of your defenses. Use the Cai technique upon Dhartiri next, in conjunction with Pressure Crack and follow this strike up with your mightiest Hoarfrost Caress. Use it again repeatedly until Dharitri expires, then grab Zhengui and the Horror, and use the Red String escape talisman to flee and reset the terms of the fight. Heal as you can, prepare FVM up to Traveler's End and refresh your defenses. Without her spirit, Sun Liling will never be able to find you within your mists, so go wild. Throw everything you can at her to drag out the battle and with it her secrets for the sake of your Lady and best friend in the fight to come.
--[X] There's an outside possibility that, since Elder Jiao was the one to create this formation space, it may share terrain features from that of your Trial with Xiulan. If thats the case, think of familiar locations you can use to your advantage when you use the escape talisman. Every bit of terrain you know better than Sun Liling is one you can turn towards your advantage. Especially that lake.

-[x] Plan Play To Your Strengths
- [x] Use Scarlet Thread immediately
- [x] Move away from Sun Liling and look for good defensive terrain
- [x] While running away and once you find your spot, brace for an assault
- [x] Once Zhengui, the crow construct, defensive techs, and FVM + Traveler's End are up, wait for Liling or her spirit to show
- [x] Focus fire on the first available target with HC + Cai card, then play things by ear

It would be downgraded to lethal which he can heal.

Except using TRD prevents us from dodging, which we're better at, and GCD makes us better at. As a round one response, TRD is good because it provided us with two point semi-perfect Qi blocking.

But our Insight covers that, at least somewhat, which leaves GCD. GCD provides a point of perfect defense that TRD can't block, negating an aggravated damage, adds six dice to all our defenses as compared to TRD's four dice to physical only, and increases our movement speed.

Zhengui doesn't. My point is many people are talking about ganking Dhartiri first, but shouldn't that because easier after we buff up? I don't expect Sun to have much in the way of group buffs.

Our buffs are defensive in nature, they don't help our attacks.

And Zhengui does have defensive techniques:

Ingraining Roots: oo
Cost 4 qi
Zhengui channels his qi through the roots of the plant life around him, allowing him to better sense his surroundings as well as drawing in further strength. While active, Zhengui's speed is reduced by half, but he gains a four die bonus to perception rolls, his armor increases by one and he gains a six die bonus on all defenses. In addition Zhengui may spend two qi to regenerate his armors durability by one as a free action while active. Lasts four turns.

Volcanic Stone Shell: ooo
cost 4 qi
Instant, Reactive
Zhengui infuses his shell with withering heat and stony resilience, burning bright with a volcanic blaze. Adds a four die bonus to physical defenses, and an additional two against melee attacks. On clashing with an enemy in melee, Zhengui counters with a DV 4 fire attack at a three die bonus which deals one point of bonus semi perfect damage. This effect lasts two turns.

If we stand in one place and let Sun Liling whale on us in melee range then we will certainly die before we do anything useful.

What do you think GCD is FOR!? Or the insight we just obtained? The combination keeps us moving, rather than standing still the way 'tank with TRD' did in the last round. This time, 'Full TRD use' means we get HRA, TRU, and GCD round one. This means we're keeping out of melee range, except for that first hit - which we won't be getting away from.

We get the multi attack bonus from the FVM gribblies even if she shrugs off the save or suck.

In order to accomplish our goal we need to get lucky. The more rolls and more decisions Liling has to make the more likely it is that we spike one and make ourselves look good or learn something about Liling.

The gank D-ri plan, OTOH, does not make sense. We know that D-ri can appear or disappear almost at will, especially in a jungle. Every indication is that she won't appear until Liling is in our face dealing blender damage, and that if we did manage to harm D-ri she would just disappear for a while. What new information do we gather by lashing out at D-ri as we get blendered?

Multi-attacker penalties aren't all that much, not without the Worms and Pressure Crack backing them up, both of which we've already shown, so she'll be wary of it (and already has a counter).

The better our plan is the less luck we'll need. Better to be lucky than good, sure... but it's smarter to plan on not getting lucky, or having luck turn against you, by minimizing the places where you need to get lucky. You are actively hoping to get lucky. How's about no.

By not standing still, by providing targets for her to go for (Zhengui, Horror - either of which is a valid target, the former for the healing and the latter for the temp health boxes), then hitting her with HC and WEC as soon as she pops up. Or deploys her flower field, which she'll need to manifest for. Hell, if she deploys her field we should absolutely pop WEC - it drains Qi from anything with Qi, and those damn flowers clearly have Qi, which will help us out a great deal.

So what is the chance that Sun has spoken about taking us seriously from the start as a bait for us in some way?

I think she is thinking we would run away like we did against her at the ambush, and has appropriate counter measures readied once we activate the escape card.

This is Liling getting a chance to plow Qi into the ground for the outer sect shenanigans and to taunt Meizhen.

Possibly hoping to enrage Meizhen into making a bad move.

Plan Penultimate Boss Fight sets up for this exact situation as well, since Turn 2 has us set up Spring's End Aria as an Instant, so any plants that show up will get ganked pretty damn quickly thanks to Winter's End Cadenza already being ready to deploy.

Seems pretty optimistic to me, but the best we can do. I don't like the Escape Talisman much but oh well. If we get that far, I won't complain^^+
Still pretty worried about Dharitri backstabbing us from Stealth, but I don't see much we can do about that besides 'being on the lookout'.

The buffed summons do.

Are you planning on using the Worms?

Why? She's got a powerful AoE attack, has had it for a while. If she sees us setting up for a Pressure Crack she'll just use it.

Keeping our buffs on Zhengui and the Horror is a no-brainer, but that's not for using them to help us cause damage, that's to help them keep us alive - and aggro Dhartiri.

There have been some observations on the discord that it's possible that Jiao might have recycled the terrain from the Dark Dreams trial as a bit of spite on his end for the way that the Sun have been throwing their weight around this year, and to give Ling Qi some element of familiarity to work with.

As such, Im going to make a minor addition to Plan Penultimate Boss Fight where the location will be that lake from that trial, that we should have voted to fortify rather than run away from.

Its an area just wide enough to benefit from the full range of FVM, and SEA would have hilarious applications with that incredibly suspicious lake from the terrain if its present.

Fine with me if we can confirm it, if not just leave the default open if possible I think.
