Since @Briefvoice is opting to maintain Starfleet Tactical Brass, this should add a cost of 15 pp to his proposal. Overall cost should now be 120 pp for member starships and 143 pp for taskforce attachments, plus 58 rp and 10 br. So, 243 pp.

We also spent 13 pp for shipyard federalization, so:

350 - 13 = 337

We still have 337 pp to play with in the upcoming Snakepit, not accounting for gains and losses during this quarter. Not as stupendous as we hoped, but I think we can spend it well.

Starfleet Goal is worth 50pp which will cash out this Snakepit, so if MWCD doesn't cost us out the ass then 440pp or so is quite reasonable. If we get as much as 2323Q2 or Q4 it'll be closer to 500.

As a further reply, Ambassador ( 8 9 7 9 9 8 ) vs Excelsior-A ( 7 6 4 6 6 6 )
Primary stats are S and P (with a higher chance of needing C, H and L over normal garrison work, no idea how often they need D)

You need an Elite Excelsior-A to equal a Green Ambassador in the S & P scores.
EC vessels with their guaranteed events are the fastest vessels to hit Blooded out of the entire fleet (see USS Ambassador has already levelled up and USS Enterprise-C should do so sometime this year)

There is no skill level that would let an Excelsior-A equal a Blooded Ambassador.

(There are proposed Excelsior-B designs that could, but then we would also be looking at comparing to the Ambassador-A ...)

So we are far more likely to have successful EC events with Ambassadors skilling up. We have plenty of jobs for standard fleet crewed Excelsiors anyway!

EDIT:

We have six Ambassadors finishing construction in 2325 (five available Q3, one available Q4). Judging by the estimated EX-O counts, we are looking at least five if not all six of these being assigned to the Explorer Corps, mostly because we have/will stand down some of the EC Excelsiors.

Man, we are literally the end state he desired. Lenin would look at the Glorious Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism Pan-Human-And-Beyond Exporting The Revolution One Diplomat At A Time Motherland and...probably freak out about the gay bit before someone calmed him down but really I think he'd be quite fond of the Federation.

  • Explorer Squadron 1 - Courageous, Sarek, Voshov
  • Explorer Squadron 2 - S'harien, Tarrak, Opportunity
  • Explorer Squadron 3 - Odyssey, Atuin, Stargazer
  • Explorer Squadron 4 - Enterprise, Ambassador
We take Odyssey out of action, then Squadron 3 is going to be kind of lonely - just Atuin and a holding place for the MIA Stargazer ....
S'harien should be removed from Squadron 2 as well. Didn't we take another ship out of the corps as well? Not sure if we did and which one.

Tarrak and Opportunity are out of EC service. S'Hairen is presumed destroyed. Basically it's Squadron 1, then nobody in Squadron 2, then Atuin along in Squadon 3, then Squadron 4. Should probably move Atuin to Squadron 4.

Then in about 18 months from now, five new EC Ambassadors! Thrilling times.
