I think it'd be a mistake not to at least get into a position where we have the option to bind Sixiang- for a start, having her fight alongside us would probably help considerably in the tournament, as well as help prevent whatever Yan Renshu has planned. It also seems somewhat of a waste not to try at some point, since she could be a considerable help to us with how we tend to fight.

pretty much what I thought- watching Gan fight someone is at best going to be fluff, since I doubt that we will derive any benefit from it. Sixiang, however, has the potential to be a serious help to us, since it's reasonable to assume she's roughly on our power level. One obvious advantage is us binding her could actually mess up Renshu's plans, both since it's quite likely a mischievous spirit could do a lot to screw up his preparations and, if his plan is to attack us, to watch our back.
 
I really don't see the appeal of the Suyin bit of Last Breath over Sixiang. If we are doing SLP next week we will have left her alone for 2 weeks, and paying attention to her seems like a requirement for binding. Meanwhile we don't actually get anything out of the Suyin action, because the skeletons don't really offer us anything right now. We don't need them to defend our home or our mother, we don't seem likely to double down on the actions to put a formation onto Zhengui compared to all the other stuff we have to do, I just don't see the upside to them.

I see them both as advancing our advantages for the tournament. Seeing Gan fight means we have a far better grasp of what a peer can actually do, and we get a better visual threat assessment on the Shambler who has stated his desire to participate in the tournament if he can get there.

Sixiang is a chance to get a bigger and meaner spirit for the tourney, but it is only a chance. She's also helpful with our music which we are training right now.

I see Gan as giving more concrete information and value for the tourney than the current Sixiang option. The fluff also sounds more entertaining to me.

I believe 8 is the earliest we've heard of, but that was the Bai. It would be a great thing to ask Bai/Cai/Gu.

Edit: Cai was actually Awakened at 6, which seems balls to the walls crazy. We're told by Zhou that messing up phys cultivation can cripple you, and I don't trust a 6 year old to stand still for minutes, yet alone cycle flexing muscle groups for hours.

We can bind them, but there is no way we would be allowed to in balance terms. It's simply not something reasonable to expect.

We made progress with the crow puppet last time despite the fluff being entirely about the other formation.

Meizhen was awakened at 8, which is unusually early even for the Bai. Renxiang at an even worse age of 6. It's pretty fair to consider it a bad thing though since it obviously hasn't helped that much.

Because I want Ling Qi to be less stuck up about things and who better to help her do that than a literal party spirit.
 
Such loot. My Darkness meridians are satisfied. It is interesting to note that the Umbral Shard kills light and blood, the two staple attributes of Cai and Sun. Beyond the fact that it seems great for a weapon from the description alone, those attributes may grant us an advantage in our coming trials. The mirror is very interesting (It shows the future, so I think it's probably Time aspected considering the time field on the island), but I'm not entirely sure what we want to do with it yet.

I feel that we don't really need to interact with Sixiang more(feeling out the competition is more important), and Renshu has gone quiet so we can easily continue procrastinating on finishing him, or... Whatever we're going to do with him. I'm not sure whether going after him right after we finish our new domain weapon or holding it in reserve for the tournament is going to be the better choice in the end, but that feels like the appropriate point at which to do so. Or not. I may or may not be undecided on this issue.

Iirc Lil'sis is 3, she'll be 4 when we star our military service, and ~12 years old when we finish it. I think we should wait for that before we start her cultivation.
Not only does it make a good subject for the new story Arc that will start at that point, as in starting to build our own family/clan powerbase, but we'll also have minions both trained and loyal to us from having worked for/with us for years in CRX's military.

That isn't to say we should completely forget about the idea!
Biyu could benefit from history, art and etiquette lessons at the very least.
Also from light Mortal-level training in Martial Arts, and could use the time to figure what weapon she'd like to use, and what overall (build) goal she'll pursue.
Moreover, we might be able to get Qingge to Red (maybe even Yellow ?) on whatever remains of her natural Talent. A weak but fast bird-type spirit would be nice for mom, so we can keep up our correspondance without using the (vulnerable?) mail system.
I think all we need to do is phrase it so that Qingge realizes there's no way we'll allow our little sister to remain a mere Mortal if given the choice, so she might as well go for it and make it a family bounding thing. The physical and mental boons of even a low cultivation level are also quite nice...

We might get Zhengui to green if we keep working on it, but i agree that having a second spirit that happens to be a 3rd stage green is pushing it from a balance PoV.

I support waiting til she's 12 but I think that joining CRX means we won't be following the 8 years in the military plan anymore.
