Jealous, actually. A living shadow sounds great."It is my shadow, so long as our bond remains," Bai Meizhen replied without breaking stride as they crossed the plaza, heading for the entrance to the Sect's main office. "Do not tell me something as small as this truly still surprises you, Ling Qi."
Thank you, Meizhen."I would discount defensive ones for the moment. Your capabilities in that regard are already adequate," Bai Meizhen replied as they passed by the quiet pill dispensary, heading toward the most ornate shop in the section. "Your style requires more offense."
Worth noting, while our buffs do not affect domain weapon's attack pool, our DE-buffs target the enemy's defense pool, so our domain weapon still benefits from them.Domain weapons only receive dice bonuses from effects which specify that they affect domain weapons, and all such bonuses are applied after multiplication.
Heh. Cute."...He's never taken his mask off," Ling Qi replied, her eyes fixed on the ground, it would be hard to say this without blushing. "...Not sure I'd remember though. I have a hard time looking that high."
Xiulan blinked, staring at her in surprise, only to snort as Ling Qi started laughing to herself. "Hmph, so you do know how to loosen up yourself. I was worried I might have to consider you a hypocrite."
Well, that changes things considerably."Consider it a gift for good luck. When river dragons strike, their movements are followed by a shadow of water, sharp as a well forged sword," he had said with a smile. "Just crush the stone before the battle, and it will disperse the force of a blow or two from that shadow."
A good scene overall."You overstep yourself, disciple," The dragon said coldly. "I see no gifts, no tribute to even cause me to consider such a thing. You have not even bowed properly to your superior. Get you gone, before my ire is aroused further."
A nice illustration of status games in action. What things are like when we're not with people we can afford our usual casualness with. The dragon let out an irritable snort, sounding remarkably like a very big horse. "...You will leave now. You may cultivate during the day, when I might be awake to watch you."
"Thank you for your time," Ling Qi replied. "But please remember where we stand." It wasn;t in her nature, but Gu Tai's words reminded her to make sure that she didn;t let his respect slip away.
He stared at her and reluctantly lowered his head another inch. "My apologies, I am tired, and so spoke shortly."

I mean, you quoted a passage where Meizhen noted that our defense was adequate. A Bai, whose whole scheme seems to be "we are untouchable, now tremble in fear." I think it has been noted that Meizhen has some of the highest defense around in the Sect. If our defense is adequate to her standards, then they are probably stellar compared to the majority of the sect. It's been said before but Ling Qi is a dodge-tank; our defense pool is much better than average for our rank.
I think I'm going to wait for more input from @SynchronizedWritersBlock , I disagree with him on goals a lot, but he has a good sense of the constraints we're operating under.
While I don't think we're in danger of not making the top 8 if we don't optimize, I'd still rather avoid own-goals like spending a bunch of turns cultivating an art that we don't level up before the tournament.
This is very true. The other thing is that if we start really hitting the missions hard we could actually run out of 25/30 point ones before yrsillar refreshes that batch.
Yrsillar's probably going to be refreshing them soon, so grabbing the 25 point ones from this batch before that happens might not be a bad idea...
ASA is spiritual offense, and as a level 1 art doesn't require points to acquire. The other thing at issue this week is whether we should do a mission or not. If we don't do a sect mission this week, we should forget about an archive art entirely as the action gymnastics to get it without sect points this week would be prohibitive. Whether we want an archive art depends a lot on a bunch of fiddly combat math and also personal taste, but our best chance at taking down the monsters is to invest in a synergistic archive art: either spiritual offense support, or combat stealth.
3. Do you want to max a particular art suite? If you find yourself demanding one particular art atop your list, you should know that we will have to drop something.
2. Do you want an archive art? An archive art requires careful sculpting of our sect missions, because we have to pay for the art several weeks early or we don't have time to train it. It also requires additional meridians actions, and we additionally lose a few tutoring actions. We also have to backload our tutoring. Based on @Black Noise's weekly planner, we could potentially achieve level 3 in an archive art if it was similar to FSS and we obtained it on or before Week 46.
If I were to pick three minors, I wouldn't count Sixiang among them. Perhaps you could change Sixiang to attaching Suyin's formations action to the white room? Since we don't actually get any description out of the white room major it's eminently attachable for a full minor action even if Suyin is not directly involved.-[X] Cultivate in the White Room
--[X] (MAJOR) Open Lung Meridian
--[X] With Su Ling
-[X] Train with Xiulan
--[X] (MAJOR) PLR
--[X] (attached minor) Sixiang shouldn't be a problem for the moment, but you are interested. She said she was a muse after all, maybe she can help you improve your music?
-[X] Train at the vent with Su Ling
--[X] (MAJOR) TRF
--[X] (attached minor) Fulfill your offer with Su Ling, train her in Argent Current for another silverblood pill
Mmmh, didn't we buy some of those earlier?@PrimalShadow @Vanguard_D and other plan makers, please stock up on consumables in case we need them this week for the moon quest.
Our inventory (have/weekly max):
We need 5x dragon's endurance (200rss) and a Bountiful Earth (100rss). Expensive but better to have and not need etc.
- Life Essence Salve (3/1) - fully heal 1 Lethal
- Heavenly Bliss Salve (1/?) - Suyin's Good Stuff, heals 3 lethal, de-aggrevates 2, causes a 5 die penalty for 2 hours, not actually sold in shop
- Spirit Restoration Pill (1/1) - old shop qi pill, no longer sold?
- Dragon's Endurance Pill (0/5) - restore 15 qi, costs 40 rss each
- Bountiful Earth's Blessing (0/1) - restore 40 qi, costs 100 rss
If other people prefer it, I guess. If I were to pick three minors, I wouldn't count Sixiang among them. Perhaps you could change Sixiang to attaching Suyin's formations action to the white room? Since we don't actually get any description out of the white room major it's eminently attachable for a full minor action even if Suyin is not directly involved.
Plus Xuan Shi.
I see your Ashen Shadow Art plug and raise you Rippling Lake Art, which is explicitly an art to support other spiritual offense, is water/yin so helps black pool and SLP and qualifies for EPC, archive 1, and takes meridians we already have open.ASA is spiritual offense, and as a level 1 art doesn't require points to acquire.![]()
