Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

[X] Plan Lunar Arts
-[X] Overflow to spiritual, vent drip to AS, EPC successes to SCS
-[X] Use 2 virtual and 2 regular YSS (20), 10 dice Moon pills (40), 5 dice Music pills (15), 5 dice Water pills (10), Heavy Rains Pill (15), (total 100 rss)
-[X] Cultivate in the White Room
--[X] Leg Meridian
--[X] With Xiulan
--[X] (Attached Minor) Perhaps Xiulan could use some help. Track down her training ground and see what she's been up too.
-[X] Train Music arts with Zeqing
--[X] FVM
-[X] Hire a Tutor (30 sect points)
--[X] EPC/occult
--[X] PLR/expression
-[X] Attempt to placate the Dragon of the Valley
-[X] Take a job
--[X] Tournament Preparations

-[X] (Minor) Invite Meizhen out shopping, you could use some advice for what to look for in flying swords
-[X] (Minor) You… should probably look into what Sixiang is actually doing. The spirit did follow you home.
-[X] (Minor) Zhengui's efforts are coming along well, but Gu Tai mentioned that he might be able to help, take him up on it
Thanks to @Arkeus mentioning it, I've looked up all our previous tutoring actions and tutoring has always used an attached minor. So I have edited Plan Lunar Arts to account for @Erebeal and @wankongyew's objections. There is now no attached Gu Tai action.

This plan is way cooler than Efficient Music, which is actually not very efficient because it wastes a Zeqing tutoring action later on. Seriously, that's a pretty bad move. We have enough dice for FVM and FSS that we may not even use all 11 weeks of Zeqing even if we only did one per week.

[X] Plan Efficient Music

Well it got the minors I wanted and finally the dragon action and FSS.

Like not training FSS super weird to me since supposedly FVM is Ling Qi's bread and butter yet FSS, which finally improves Ling Qi lackluster musical dice pool, is considered unimportant for some reason despite the misgivings about Ling Qi's lagging offensive capabilities.

We will have enough Zeqing actions to level both FVM and FSS to their Early Green cap pretty much no matter what. Doing FSS without Zeqing is foolish.

Also, I feel like I'm going to be flayed alive for suggesting something so heretical but...do we need a flying sword? Really? I mean, it's really cool-sounding and all, but don't we already suffer from a lack of focus? I know I'm new and not totally used to the mechanics, so I could be missing something major that makes flying weapons a gamechanger but...picking up a new weapon, no matter how awesome, sounds like kind of a waste this close to the tournament.
I think it adds an extra attack, which is kinda important.

I personally don't think we need a flying sword, but that entirely depends on what it actually does, and if we can substitute something like a song instead for the same purpose.

That means we have to go take the information minor, if we want a sword or something else or not at all.

Every indication IC is that flying X is something every green tries to pick up. OOC is suspected that its a critical part of training domain aka influencing the world without explicit art usage.

Ok, I like this now. Let's do moon stuff!

I would argue that we should switch the mission to Tournament grounds if we don't have anything that desperately needs stealth this turn. That way we can get the intel we want.

Tournament grounds early is important for a couple of reasons: 1) because the intel could inform our decisions and prep, and 2) because its an opportunity that could disappear when Yrsillar refreshes the mission table again.

I don't particularly mind swapping to Tournament Preparations on the logic that we don't crucially need stealth successes in my plan. Will make the change.

We are going to have to take this mission sometime. This is the best opportunity because we aren't looking at an art level.

Also, in all seriousness Tournament Preparations is still fairly likely to give us at least 1 stealth roll. We need to deal with spirits. That means we can sneak around all over the place.

Like, even if we aren't sneaking everywhere, if we need to kill a spirit we can just go all OwS on them, and boom, stealth rolls. And just 1 stealth roll averages like 16 successes.

There's no reason to be too worried here.

Ah, yeah, that's definitely a more compelling reason than just because they're cool. Thanks.

For me, Gu Tai attaches spectacularly well to the dragon minor. Not only should Zhengui have some focus when trying to befriend another spirit beast, but part of starting an entirely new house is being able to make nice with the local spirits. If Gu Tai can't at least offer some advice, then I question sending him out to tame a patch of wild desert.
I can't agree more with this. Gu Tai and Zhengui with the Dragon makes loads of sense. We need to negotiate access with the dragon to get access to the site which Gu Tai can provide assistance with given what skills would be needed in Golden Fields, while the site benefits us I would argue it benefits Zhengui considerably more and a significant part of a cultivators strength is their spirit beasts so it makes sense for him to be there, we've seen this chapter that Zhengui is independently interacting with Hanyi so is likely to be helpful, and from when we met with the dragon's Mother we learned that she wanted him to not be lazy and to train which works with the goal of the minor. Gu Tai's cultivation level and arts should similar to helping us train Zhengui, be beneficial for the Dragon if access to the site means helping it to train.

We will have enough Zeqing actions to level both FVM and FSS to their Early Green cap pretty much no matter what. Doing FSS without Zeqing is foolish.

FVM needs 225 sux, current level of FSS needs 100 sux and the next level would probably need 150~180 sux. The tournament starts at week 52 which means that Zeqing is only available for 11 actions. And in all probability FVM can probably be trained to another rank without Ling Qi needing to reach green 2.

I am extremely skeptical of the claim that FSS and FVM will reach their early green cap with only Zeqing tutoring.

FVM and FSS are already both of our fastest training arts, at 70/actions if we are willing to splurge (but no GSS). With EPC5 it might become even faster, even discounting rare pills.

Assuming that FVM takes 225 successes and FSS 350 (for all levels), then we need 575/70 actions, so 8,1. This actually does leave us leeway for FVM7 or another musical art from archive or some such for the last 3/4 weeks.

It's because it's one of the best tools in existence to train your Domain--which seems to be the big bottleneck in Third Realm.
Which honestly just makes FVM and its explicit connection to Domains (and FSS' implied one given its apparent relation to Zeqing) even more attractive as a potential powerleveling method to have Ling Qi shoot through the ranks of advancing her Cultivation :V

Assuming that your calculations are correct it still rounds up to 9 actions (since there is no fractional action), and even if I assume that Ling Qi reaches thoze levels at 8 action it still leaves only 3 (which total to 210 sux by your calculations) which leaves Ling Qi unable to reach FVM7 or FSS4.

And I also wonder where do you think Ling Qi will get rare pills anyway? Hoping to steal from Yan Renshu strikes me as foolhardy at best.

I guess you are assuming no training week 52?

FVM7 and FSS4 are most likely gated by appraisal, not early green. If they are early green it's a different story (and then we'll probably try to train them both in the same week) but what will likely happen is that we'll get appraisal around the same time (or later) than FVM6/FSS3.

As they are both Yin arts, we can also use stealth/larceny successes to supplement them if we do go for FVM7/FSS4.

As for rare pills, we have found them during missions or other unexpected actions with some regularity. It is highly doubtful we won't find any at all for the last 3 months.
