Not just no, but HELL NO to ex-Nod turncoats, not even remotely worth the massive hit to our already less than stellar political support base, and not even a little bit trustworthy.

while i have sympathie for Qatar loyalists i do not trust them a bit
and while it is sad too miss out on a loyal officer.
we are not the military, we are the Treasury.

love the support but we are our own thing thank you.

I like to promote Dr. Joseph Takeda as we going to need the
  • +3 to Military dice
  • +1 Military die
To 1/2 of the military projects we promised to do soon, and i prefer a +4 on a roll to more dice as we are already not using dice due to a lack of resources.

Third one is torn between Edinburgh and Qatar tbh, but after some consideration. +15 to all tiberium stuff and some extra dice to play in general is just too good to pass up

I don't get why so many are taking the Qatar loyalists, the bonus and dice are Not worth the massive political headache they come with.

Debatable. I consider the bonus to Tiberium rolls and the free dice that can be used on anything to worthwhile hence why I am voting for them.

What is the point of political support if we aren't able to use it to get really useful stuff like this?

They very much are though, the Tiberium sector is where our most critical projects for both Plan goals and income generation are, and +15 is near game-breakingly good. I don't trust it in the slightest, it's way too good to be true, and we need to run thorough security sweeps on both the Bureacracy and Tiberium sectors not just next turn but intermittently for years to come. Even with the problems that come from inviting the snakes in to our house though, it's such a big bonus to such a critical sector that we can't pass it up.

Doctor Granger, one of the most respected and competent Tiberium scientists the GDI has, being given total control over most of humanity's economic capacity to do with as he sees fit, still only gets a +10 to Tiberium. The Loyalists are bringing such incredible expertise with them that they're 50% better than giving Einstein a blank check.

Well there is a reason why.

I suspect true Nod informants and agents are sprinkled throughtout the Qatar survivors. Cell-sized groups placed there even before the war by order of Kane to watch each of his commanders for treachery. Foes that not even these Nod defectors can identify.

Theres a big chance the loyalists have a massive con hiding in the ranks that will fuck us over.

The first of the glacier mines are already set up, attacking glaciers south of Rome in the Italian Red Zone. The shattering teams break up the green rock every other hour, and for two hours the collectors sweep through the space.
You know the more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that standard harvesters might be sub-optimal for this kind of setup. From the sounds of things they would fill up very quickly and then be wasting time on the back and forth trip to and from the silo/refinery. You want to sweep up the broken off material as quickly as possible so you can get back to attacking the glacier face, and while this can be solved to a degree by simply fielding more harvesters, I think it could be more efficient to embrace the old bigger is better mantra and go for something like a striped down/demilitarized version of the new Super MARV with it's greater collection speed and storage capacity.

Thoughts?

I put it somewhere near 100% chance that there's double and triple and quadruple agents scattered liberally throughout, it's Nod ffs of course there are. But we need the dice, we need the Tiberium bonus, and we can do our best to mitigate the infiltrators even if there's no way we get ALL of them. Nod infiltration is just a fact of life we have to deal with though it'll never be 0%, I'm willing to live with an acceptable level to get access to some big brain Tiberium expertise we'd never see otherwise.

How about a harvester + truck option?
Harvester has limited onboard storage but rapid in field transfer. Then have a specialized "tanker" load up along side and then deliver the cargo to the refinery.
Harvesting should look like a farm operation.
