Maybe they are the french and english mixed? Because their mythos seems to be mostly arthurian stuff with french stuff mixed in
I'm guessing they're based off of Warhammer Fantasy's Bretonnia which also features a Lady of the Lake and is a blend of Britain and France.
What we think of as Arthurian myth is a mix of both the original English version and the French additions. An Arthurian country bring a mix of english and French is normal.

Eh, this is MLP Greece so I expect it is mostly indentured servitude rather than true slavery.
Maretonia has true slavery despite being in MLP. So did the Crystal City under Sombra. Don't assume everything here is sunshine and rainbows...

Vaguely worried if this version also has the idea that any underaged male is expected to be the butt boy of anyone of higher status or is in the military/above them in the military/above them in the government.
Better this than slavery.

That went better then I thought it would. I was a little afraid that given the low rolls from the random die at the end of our last turn that we were going to be looking at our next enemy here. Granted we've only seen one city but it's still looking better then what I feared.

I'm fairly certain those rolls are to be revealed in Rumor Mill, and don't have anything to do with this as it is the result of Follow the Money.

We might want to establish a Diplomatic Tour of the Minotaur city states. have our diplomats learn the language then visit each city city starting from one end of the island to the other. they can bring a selection of the trade goods we have to offer along with cultrual works to show off.

Honestly like that idea plus we can spread the reasons why they should all trade with us instead of maretonia

Something with tentacles? :ogles:

I actually like the idea of Nagas or something similar. An aquatic race would be pleasantly unique compared to another terrestrial one.

an aquatic race would open the treasures of the deep to us. Rare fishes and algae, metals and rocks from underwater mines, they would of course be able to recover cargo from sunken ships..

Well, we'll have to meet and establish some agreements with the Minotaurs. EVEN if a few cities were tempted to continue trading with Maretonia, once we show how they could instead trade with us AND our allies they'll quickly change their minds.

There is LITERALLY nothing that Maretonia can offer that we, Neighpon and Canterbury collectively can't. I really wonder what they have to offer in terms of trade goods, magic and tech.

Of course there's a decent chance that, the moment Maretonia discover our role in depriving them of their one trading partner, hostilities will resume. I think war is likely close.

We NEED to complete the hardbeak line next turn, and prepare to be attacked in one to three turns at most. That means crash improvements of our military, and have our magic advisors focus on military improvements. If we reach an agreement with the Yaks about the Orichalcum maybe we can make black blades for more of our knights too, or maybe shields or armors for the elite ones.

As against Sombra it's in our best interest to start on the defense, but this time it won't be as simple as "fight the hord of zombies". We'll fight multiple battle mages, and I'd expect at least one elite teleporting strike team.

...i wonder, could we maybe move the crystal heart to the line for the duration of the fight? On the one hand it might be seen as heretical to actually put the heart in danger and to actively want to use it for war, but on the other hand it's a fight against SLAVERS, to FREE the SLAVES.

It's pretty close to a holy war from the crystal ponies's point of view, and they might think of it as an ugly necessity.
