I am pretty sure orichalcum would just no-sell Changling shapeshifting. By the obviously magical green fire effect, it is not a 'physical' transformation (meaning it is not done using biological means a la Blacklight). It is something that needs to be actively cast, so it should mean that the transformation is an active magical effect, which means that it is disruptable.
We dont know what the Changeling hive is made of, they might be immune or resistant just by living in a hive of magical nullifying stuff for generations.. @Questor can it be used as poison? Like slip some powder in a drink and fuck up the magic in a creature?

First off, I'm pretty sure Chrysalis' Throne was the only thing with magic nullifying abilities, if the whole hive structure was made of it, then that would mean Changelings naturally produce anti-magic goop to cover the hive with, or they manually dug their presumably massive hive straight out of a gigantic lump of either orichalcum or something similar.
Another point to mention is that even if the Changelings could become resistant or immune to magical nullification (which makes no sense, as that's like having immunity to being blinded), there is no guarantee that orichalcum and Chrysalis' Throne are made of the same stuff, so their method of nullification could be completely different.

Titles: Emperor of Gryphus, King of Griffonia, Inheritor of the Imperial House of Gryphus, The Unifier, Great Winged Alpha
Description: Before your wife got her talons on you, you were a fairly typical example of the Griffon species. An unmistakably masculine build, a strong, prominent beak, feathers and fur that seem to be perpetually well-groomed, and a pair of piercing amber eyes hiding a fierce intelligence. Not anymore though. Oh, you still have all those qualities, they're just overshadowed by the massive amount of muscle you've put on since you started your wife's "enhanced training regimen". Your wings can lift dumbbells, and your legs are like tree-trunks supporting a barrel chest rippling with abdominal muscles. In short, you have the build of a person who has been lifting heavy objects his entire life.

Persons of Interest
???: A friendly and strangely casual Griffon female you met at your inaugural ball. Despite having a wonderful evening chatting with her, you never got her name.
Garibaldi Talonuelli: Formerly the Duke of Wingbardy, now the Grand Duke of Wingbardy, Talonuelli is a beloved public figure in his home province and an experienced administrator. After saving his city and people from Brochard's attempted invasion and negotiating his province's vassalage over a few drinks, you'd like to think you can count him among your friends.
Federico Montefeathertro: Duke of the (former) City-State of Urbirdo, and your Father-in Law. He might just be the friendliest of the former Feathersians, having agreed to back you and your kingdom without question or condition during the Brochard Crisis, and hiring a mercenary outfit as a belated wedding gift. You're reasonably certain he likes you, as much as In-Laws can like each other anyway.
Koryū Ryuō: The draconic Emperor of the Island Kingdom of Neighpon. Having agreed to assist you in the war against the Shadow King and making fast friends with your adoptive daughter, you consider him a decent fellow who you can trust to keep his word, and a valuable ally against any destructive forces the world can throw at you.
I would not be surprised if Orichalcum ONLY exists because Discord in the first place - Concentrated Reality (or former metals and minerals imbued with it) either as an immune reaction by Reality itself as a result of Discord's reality warping, or simply (for lack of a better word) all the Reality that was displaced by him (like rock is displaced by a glacier), compressed in some locations and (for lack of a better word) crystallizing into Orichalcum.
Personally i favor the theory that if there is an Avatar of Chaos, there is probably a primordial force of Chaos around. And if there is a primordial force of Chaos around, there might also be a primordial force of Order. Orichalcum may just be an naturally Order aligned material, which is why it enforces the natural order.
Honestly I feel like not even are new shiny anti magic metal is not going to be enough to kill Sombra. He is straight up mist he can make himself nearly MILES wide (if the show is anything to go by) it might be able to harm him but kill him I think is of the charts even for it. Containing him on the other hand I find way more plausible also makes for a much better story in my opinion it just feels oddly wrong to kill Sombra for some reason idk why.

Popular fanon would have the Tree of Harmony be either the Avatar of Order, or quite literally Harmony (being balance). Of course, it's physical characteristics kind of make it lean toward Order (Crystals are closely tied to Order, trees are very... stationary, I guess?)

there is also the fact I would say he is Immortal not like in the sense that he is alive infact I would argue he is not even alive in the first place. He is straight up just magic with a personality I doubt he even has any biological organs if anything all the stuff would do to him would sting him and prevent his direct magic from working on it other then that it would not really be a problem for him he could always just drop a boulder on who ever is wearing a suit of armor of it.

Sombra doesn't seem to eat, at least anymore, sadly, easiest way to hit him with it I can see (besides using for traditional armor/weaponry) is setting off a grenade or other bomb of the stuff inside of his body so it shoots out in every direction, hopefully disrupting him along the way very painfully.
Until we get more deposit of the metal we are only going to equip ourselves, our wife, the Knight Grandmasters, and a elite force of inner circle Knights. A small enough force that we should have enough to fully equip them, but large enough to punch through to Sombra and give us the best chance to beat him again. Especially if we can force him to retreat by killing his army again from are new walls, and fortresses. Let him smash against against our defenses that way we have much less casualties, and we can launch a counterattack very soon after he's pushed back.

his mist form IS MILES WIDE unless we have the MOAB we are not going to be able disrupt him enough and orichalcum will not be able to kill him the fact is he is not even alive anymore atleast in the physical sense I find the best bet is to make a box of the metal shove him in there and lock him away with enough defenses to make a paranoid feel like we are over compensating for something.

I like this plan we need to weaken him before entering his land the blizzard is way to strong and would make it impossible to wage war there when also dealing with a enemy army who could not care less about it.

This was when we were fresh-faced and baby soft at the start of our reign. Things have definitely changed since then though but I doubt we have grey yet we are strong and healthy so long as we aren't killed we have at least another 40 years in us.
The Changing Shape of the World: Between the reunification of the Empire, the discovery and establishment of trade with the Yaks and the Neighponese, the war with the Shadow King in the lands to the South, and the recent recovery of a pre-Discord world map which has made cartographers and navigators question their previous assumptions, there is a feeling throughout Imperial Society that the world is both much bigger and yet much smaller than anyone had initially thought. This feeling fills your people with excitement and trepidation in equal measure.
The Agricultural Revolution: Between selective breeding of hardier and more plentiful crops, the widespread adoption of crop rotation and other farming techniques, the draining and cultivation of previously waterlogged lands, the construction of hothouses, and the introduction of new varieties of crops from Neighpon, the agricultural sector has been experiencing a massive boom, resulting in unprecedented food surpluses across the length and breadth of the Empire.
Bank Notes: A curious trend has started to become more and more common in the cities and towns of the Empire. Rather than trading gold and silver coins for goods and services, Griffons and Dogs have begun trading bank receipts and government IOUs in lieu of hard currency, citing the convenience of paper notes over heavy precious metals. The Crown, for its part, has been policing the banks issuing such receipts, ensuring that they do not print more paper than they they have hard currency in their vaults. Aside from this regulatory measure the government has done nothing to discourage this practice from becoming more common.
While I was writing the bit about the bank notes, I went back and read the "Paper=Gold" Omake, and I imagined a scene in my head that I felt I had to share with you all:
It's years in the future. The Empire of Gryphus has discovered and established relations with Equestria, and Garrick is on good terms with the Princess(es). During a meeting between the heads of state, Celestia asks about the strange custom of Imperial citizens using paper money.
Garrick's face darkens and his eyes glaze over.
"Come with me."
He leads the bewildered Royal(s) to a secret passage in his palace, down to the high-security section of the Imperial Archives that only he and a handful of others are allowed to access. After going through multiple security checkpoints staffed by dozens of Gryphons who are members of a Knightly Order that doesn't officially exist, Garrick uses a combination only he knows to open a safe made of pure Orichalcum. Inside is nothing but a collection of faded parchment, with not a scrap of magical residue or supernatural resonance.
Celestia is confused...then she starts to read.
And with dawning horror and comprehension, realizes that this simple treatise on economics and monetary policy is more powerful and dangerous than any of the forbidden spells or magical artifacts she's ordered destroyed or locked away over the centuries.
I thought it would be funny if an Essay on the nature of currency was treated like the Necronomicon.
