Gihren had to applaud the audacity of the man, claiming to be working with Zeon before offering the joint trial meant that it would be impossible to turn it down.
It was the kind of political gamble he could appreciate.
It was because of that gamble that the man was now sitting next to him in the court of Side 3.
Ericson Enrico was shorter than average, he held a full head of greying hair and was not nearly a fat as you would expect the head of the Federation to be. His eyes seemed to be constantly steeled with some purpose.
Gihren turned his head his head away from the man and toward the current case.
The crimes were: "treason, violation of human rights, assassination of a political leader, and sexual exploitation of a minor." He, of course, pleaded not guilty to all of them. Then when the evidence was presented it took the jury and the judge all of five minutes to convict him.
That may have also been due to the up coming case.
Lucius Kaine, the man whom ordered the assassination of Zeon Zum Deikun.
Gihren had been hopping for something like "Operation: Cain's Stone", something that would kill the Federation from the inside out.
And yet it didn't, Gihren mused, that man turned something that should of destroyed his nation into something to make it stronger. Perhaps I should keep a closer eye on him.
His attention was stolen by Lucius Kaine himself, a tall, bald man with a well trimmed goatee. Honestly the man looked evil, and yet, he had a aura of charisma. The way he never stopped smiling, the way he strode up to the defendant's chair with a strange sort of confidence.
However it was what he did when his crimes were read to him. Gihren had been expecting a long protracted battle, with Kaine jumping through loop hole of after loop hole. Instead he pleaded guilt to all of them, all well wearing a smile.
Gihren was happy that the trial wasn't going to take long, perhaps I should go out to dinner with my family to celebrate, maybe even invite my secretary. But what should I say we're.... ah I Know.
New Beginnings.
Later during his execution Lucius Kaine was asked what he wanted his last words to be. All he said was
"I win."
(Trial successful, Zeon will now assist with researching the alien vessel)
