[X] Karak Vlag, to see if they've been talked out from behind their fortifications yet.

This I want to see, and I don't really care much about the library, like most longtime thread brain-bugs.

Hmm... Master-apprentice relationship, education with a magical sword thing. Are we becoming a sith? :V
I mean, if we do the obvious thing and let our apprentice keep our other unique artifact that's dangerous in the wrong hands, we also teach them dark arts forbidden by the local wizard knights. So I think we're safe on that front.

... Do you think I could convince the thread to try and pull a The-Rise-Of-Skywalker Palpatine in the case of Mathilde's death, or is that movie so bad it falls short of even my arguments?

I'm interested in how the Karak Vlag dwarves are incorporating themselves into the wider world, since they are situated on a pretty important strategic choke point for Kislev if I got the maps right, but I got no idea how I would act towards a bunch of dwarves that got the idea that I'm their saviour implanted in them.

Not sure Mathilde would know either. She's better with praise and she's got being smug and enigmatic down a lot better than me, but this is a pretty unique situation. Might be that I've built this up into something it isn't though.

There's also the weird aspect of it all that any praise she would get would both feel earned and wrong. Cause she did what they would be praising her for, and she did it for the best of reasons, but the reason why she's getting the credit is cause a magical artifact of hers messed with the minds of 30000 dwarves. She didn't have a drop of malice in her actions, but I would feel really conflicted about that.

Right, so since it seems that my beloved Roswita van Hal vote isn't going to win, I better support one of the other options.

And really, the choice is simple: We can either go out and talk to twenty thousand lost dwarves or we can go nerd out over our upcoming bookstravaganza.

[X] The Karak Azul Architects, to get to know their ideas for the potential layouts of the Library in detail.

I don't know about you guys, but I don't think there's an extrovert out there powerful enough to try and talk to a group of century old hikikomori so large that you can barely count it on the fingers and toes of everyone in my home town.

[X] Roswita, to get a sense for who will control Sylvania after you turned down the position.
Not giving up on you yet girl, we can still show these bandwagons a thing or two about how a proper Stirlander does things!

'Antion sitting in his study enjoying a glass by the fire...suddenly, out of his window, a beacon is lit, with the shape of a giant 'A' in the centre.'

Antion: 'It's time.'

[X] Eike, as she begins her tutelage at the Grey College.
[X] Belegar, to discuss who will be Loremaster after you.
[X] Altdorf, to witness the octenniel duels for the position of Supreme Patriarch.
[X] Karak Vlag, to see if they've been talked out from behind their fortifications yet.

So, I'm trying to figure out what we will actually be voting for with the Layout vote for the Library, And I guess it will be more about 'the focus' of the build.

Full dwarf defence: to an extent, all of them will have defence as a main feature, because dwarfs, but this will be the one that's going for a fortress in its own right.

Religious: dedicated to Ranald or Verena (or both?), will please the gods(might help get a knighthood of Verena to take up defending it. )

Welcoming to scholars: this is the one that has sleeping areas and mess halls and stuff for Scholars travelling to K8Ps to stay in the Library, this layout is about pushing the international appeal and knowledge sharing among the different races and nations.

Welcoming to the K8Ps community: lots of rooms for the other things that libraries do like community events, letter/contract/will writing/reading for those that cant read, guild workshops or hobby discussions, public debates etc.

Grey Wizard: all the traps and false doors...all of them.

Less pointless than the architecture.

I'm not sue Ranald would care for a library. I mean he has nothing to do with the pursuit of knowledge. I do not think he would object or anything, just that it does not fit his themes and would be odd. Sort of like dedicating a smithy of Shaylla, leave the poor god scratching his head.

Any dedication to Ranald should probably be secretive and non-obvious, like the quad-cross idea someone suggested.

As humans worship Ranald, there is no connection to a library, but Ranald is not necessarily only worshiped by humans. He's pretty hevily hinted to be the same being as the elvish dancing god in quest canon and that god has all of fiction in its balwick. If the library has a fiction section (and it probably will just to get more smut delivered to us :V ) then it's entirely appropriate to dedicate that section to Ranald.

Where is there heavy hints that Ranald is an elvish god, dancing or no? Serious question that, I remember nothing of the sort, but I could've missed something.

I'm pretty sure they're referring to this:

"And Kurnous, and Eldrazor, and Addaioth. They are all facets of the whole. What do you do, without Gods to structure your thoughts around?"

"She serves the Dancer," Deathfang says distractedly. "She was glowing with His energies when she and the Ice Witch returned from spreading devastation."

"Ah," Asarnil says, pausing in his work and looking you over. "That fits. Perhaps that gives you some measure of stability as a counterbalance to the pull of Ulgu."
