Yes. Chickens are only a handful of steps removed from dinosaurs and they know it.
Well less handful of steps and more chickens simply are dinosaurs taxonomically speaking.

Dinosauria> Theropoda> Neotheropoda> Averostra> Tetanurae> Orionides> Avetheropoda> Coelurosauria> Tyrranoraptora> Maniraptoromorpha> Maniraptoriformes> Maniraptora> Pennaraptora> Paraves> Avialae> Euavialae> Avebrevicauda> Pygostylia> Ornithothoraces> Euornithes> Ornithurae> Neornithes which is another name for the class Aves which includes all modern birds.

If it does come to that, the Dwarves are not likely to be as understanding about all the little acceptable loopholes that a blind eye has been turned towards, and they'd be aghast that Mathilde has been breaking her word from pretty much day one of becoming a Journeywoman.
This is precisely why I've been wanting to donate to charity people.

Mockery Mastery:
1: Rapid cast
2: Sleep-Mockery chaincast
3: Intangible
4: Prolonged
5: Stasis
Huh, we can now render the Mockery of Death targets intangible
This will probably be handy in keeping the cows preserved from the elements I suppose, and could have handy utility in extracting persons of interest or otherwise stashing them away

...Huh. I guess we miscast? Or just got really lucky. Wonder what the intangible does though.
Probably a crit, or maybe a miscast followed by a crit in miscast management

Shit. This is bad. The cows will not be secured.
Masteries are optional, as they represent personalizations of spells
In some cases they're straight upgrades so Mathilde doesn't bother ever casting the normal version again, but her Universal Confusion and Shadow Dagger masteries provide alternative utility so she maintains the ability to cast the original version
This is assuming that we can't control what is intangible to the cow selectively ala Substance of Shadow

Not sure what the benefit of intangibility is. Why would we want our victims to be immune to damage?
It might let us carry people through things without worrying about sunlight, like with Substance of Shadow? Or at least let us pull things out of them or something, like if they're wounded. Probably depends on the exact effects.
No, this is a Mastery. Its a good thing.
Mastery's can come off miscasts, IIRC. And Arcane Marks can come off both as well, which is what I'm mostly concerned with.

I don't think we're in terribly much danger. Regimand runs an entire network of taverns and inns, money falling into our laps isn't going to get the Bursar sharpening her knife.

I think it'd take more along the lines of explicit for-profit ventures, such as the whole pelt-collecting idea that was mentioned.

Walk through wall using Substance of Shadow, carrying intangible cow.
Carry 300 intangible cows stacked on top of each other; if they don't properly exist, they don't have weight.
Push Mookery of Death'd mook into wall for safe keeping. Come back later.

Also they might not need sustenance if they're intangible. Not like we could properly feed or water them anyways.

Can Mathilde just stack cows atop each other until the first stasis wears off? That would save on space.

Ok if the cows do not have weight that means we can actually load up on cows and not be slowed down at all. Less fuel spent each day too.
