Huh... Wouldn't Grey wizards on shadowsteeds or Ambers going dragon be really fast?
Particularly if the first response comes from the northern branch of the Colleges (which is in Hochland?)
It seems like you're making a lot of assumptions here.If we clog it, we are staying until it is reclaimed. That's why I want to wait until the way back when we have an army with a burning need to take Karak scale revenge on chaos.
Huh... Wouldn't Grey wizards on shadowsteeds or Ambers going dragon be really fast?
But the stone is an excellent insulator of magic!..With the kind of payload they've got saved up, even if we perfectly counterspell the actual spellwork just the leftover dhar from the shattered spell is still going to be enough to kill everybody.
"Mere"? "Just"? I think we have really different images here. Because afaik, Demonettes is pretty high-ranked daemons. Nothing like Greater Daemons, but to say "mere Demonette" is something like "mere vampire", or "mere Black Magister".Also: *laughs nervously* ahahaha, +30 Martial for mere Daemonettes... That's scary. Those were just Daemonettes
We don't know how long that been for them. Chaos is atemporal. And just weird in general. So, with some (well, pretty insanely amount, actually, but still) luck, we could fish them out a hour later than they got pulled in.You say there are dwarfs inside? Inside the warp, in domain of Slaneesh, for 200 real years?
Don't forget about another thing - Vlag might not reappear in the reality immediately after we'll cut the "cable". They might have a "uninterruptible power system" with days or even months of energy. My biggest concern is that it's simply not plausible; even if we remove the magic source, it won't meaningfully impede the deamons on a relevant time scale. We'll have to see what BoneyM says, but my gut feeling is that it won't be this simple.
I would love to be wrong, though.
Edit: BoneyM answered while I was typing. It's plausible but would take days. I doubt we can stop the expedition that long, but it's a viable siege strategy to pursue later. Alternatively, Mathilde just cuts the Dum waystone off at the source.
Yes. Obviously an enemy Chaos Sorceror in our ranks could screw up our process.Von Horstmann is still an unknown quantity for us...is there any way that he (or any other sleeper agents) could screw up our clogging/unclogging process?
if the there are dwarf holding out in there it would thanks to their anti magic and anti chaos Runes if we cut off power from the way stone network the Runes might lose power and failThe best thing we can do is cut off the magic flowing from Karag Dum somehow - this is clearly an actively maintained effect, so cutting that off would make it more feasible for said Wizard Lords and Runelords to come yank Vlag back out later.
@BoneyM, I'm confused. Blocking a waystone is permanent, but clogging is temporary? What's the difference I terms of what we do?
The closest thing the Empire has to Waystone experts are the Jades.
Also the moment Borek asks Snorri to go and reclaim the Karak and he immediately turns to us was the best moment for me in this update.
No, Daemonettes are the foot soldiers of Slaanesh. In terms of the Tabletop, they fall in the same category as simple dwarf warriors or quarrelers. Arguably more replaceable."Mere"? "Just"? I think we have really different images here. Because afaik, Demonettes is pretty high-ranked daemons. Nothing like Greater Daemons, but to say "mere Demonette" is something like "mere vampire", or "mere Black Magister".
My thoughts were more towards having some sort of wizard presence to monitor the situation so the clogged Waystone doesn't produce Dhar and any potential weird stuff gets documented during the time when the Expedition moves towards Dum and the big boy Runesmiths and top tier College experts arrive.
They won't be infinite if we take them out of the warp, is the point, if I understand it correctly.Okay, I may have missed this in the mass of discussion up until now, but: do we have any reason to believe the forces of the expedition are sufficient to hold off a literal endless tide of demons for multiple consecutive days?
Runes can drink in ambient magic to power themselves, this is how they worked before the Vortex. I doubt that runes that have been literally in the Aethyr for the past 200 years are going to run out of juice in a week, especially since when we talk about runes running out of power we are usually talking thousands of years of use.if the there are dwarf holding out in there it would thanks to their anti magic and anti chaos Runes if we cut off power from the way stone network the Runes might lose power and fail
