Hopefully more dorf expeditions do what belegar did and hire vast amounts of humans and other support staff and wizards, while also taking Belebro's strats of holding what can be held and turtling up and then going for more of the Karak.

What are the closest great works to our Karak? because I think reconnecting them to the Runic Network would be the best thing we could do for the long term health of dwarvish civilization. Hell, just reclaiming the Eight Peaks prevented the extinction of dwarvish civilization. And we were heavily responsible for the reclaiming of the Karak. Fuck, I hesitate to say this because it approaches hyperbole but our actions were extraordinary on a level that only Sigmar has approached. We played a major role in preventing the end of dwarvish civilization. I can't begin to explain how happy I am that, even if the previous events of Stirland were tragic and meant the death of our previous boss/crush, I would do that all over again because it means we went to the Eight Peaks and played a major role in preventing the extinction of dwarvish civilization.

I'm still reeling over how big the implications of this are.

Explains as well why Thorgrim has not married or been interested in siring a son.

Hard to be interested in continuing your line when you are constantly aware of the oncoming wave of doom that will end your race.

As an aside: Merry Christmas!

He has no children. Presumably he'll call a conclave like Alriksson did.

Also, will this allow Mathilde to get a good a rep amongst the greater Karaz Ankor now? She did a massive portion of the K8P reclamation campaign on her lonesome.

Still up in the air. Lonesome is a bit strong, though. I seem to remember an army tens of thousands strong that was involved.

The Great Pumps of Morgrim, lost, and now most believe Zhufbar was named for the miniscule waterfall it now hosts, rather than the torrential flash-draining of the Black Water for the mining of its bed, which destroyed the dark and terrible forests that once dominated what was now known as Averland and the Moot long before the arrival of humanity.
Probably overlooked, but this explains a lot about the fertility of land in the Moot. All of that water rushing across the land probably carried a lot of nutrients as well, which were then absorbed by the soil.

I'm just as hyped as everyone else after this bomb (thanks for nice Xmas gift BoneyM), but there is something that I am worried about.

Will others be able to feel what happened? Elves, Chaos etc.

Is he going to send us some reinforcements now I hope?

"SEND ALL GYROCOPTERS TO KARAK EIGHT PEAKS!"

"-But didn't you just tell them to die well?"

"Yes. The situation has changed. By word of your king, get moving, Beardling! Run to the gyrocopter bay. RUN! NOW!"

@BoneyM, couldn't the runes of Valaya be powered with the magic unleashed by Storms of Chaos? I mean, Valaya's runes had to have been powered some way to protect the dwarfs from Chaos whilst the waystone network didn't exist yet.

Unfortunately, three Ancestor-Gods did not leave instruction manuals for their Great Works. The Waystone project was how the Golden Age Dwarves got the works of the Ancestor-Gods running again in their absence.

I nominate Belebro. I'm sure he has enough cred now that he took out an entire book's worth of grudges in one go.

Semantics! If it wasn't for Mathilde's unique talents and skills, the dwarfs would never have had the gamebreaking opportunities that they needed to win so spectacularly. If Mathilde's K8P feats weren't "lonesome", then they were as "extraordinary" and "irreplaceable" as one could get under the circumstances. That uniqueness equates to lonesome IMO.

Now, synchronizing has clearly re-established the power flow from Karak Eight Peaks into the rest of the system. But what else did it do? We know that Belegar was significantly affected by the completion of his crown in unknown ways; does he have his own version of Thorgrim's HUD, built so that the ruler of the second-greatest dwarfhold would be able to monitor information relevant to their interests? The crown is, after all, a "control object".
I choose to believe its power is to control the grobi-smashing super-golem that comes together as the eight Karags of the Silver Depths uproot themselves and form up, Megazord-style.

Let's go, Vala-Azril Force!
Karag Wyr and Karag Rhyn form the feet!
Karag Yar and Karag Nar form the legs!
Karag Lhune and Karag Zilfin form the arms!
Karag Mhonar and Karagril form the torso!
And Belegar's Citadel... forms the head!

It kind of downplays how cool everybody else was. Being proud is fine, but let's not try to push everybody else out of the spotlight, you know? Our contributions weren't that much more than a normal Thane could have provided, they were just in an unconventional direction. The Throngs did most of the actual work, outside of the Trenches.
