Not according to how the money is listed as earmarked for fief. I'm sure the college would want to have a word.
If we earmark it as part of the panoply of Dame Weber and get it engraved or something, it's basically close enough. We could buy a sheep for our fief and it'd count, I don't see what's the difference between a sheep and a gun on that account.

The spirit of the rule is to keep Grey Wizards from lounging in luxury through use of their mind control magic and I'm pretty sure some sort of hypothetical conceptual control over the economy. As long as it's being used to kill bad things harder, they aren't going to squint too hard at it.

Incorrect. Even raising from an egg just makes it a great normal pet. Familiar possibility sounds a lot like the animal having a magic potential of its own. You're as likely to find one that way as you are to find a random baby that can be a wizard
The idea that there are cat wizards around never occurred to me, probably because the idea that cat wizards actually exist is a horrifying concept and the fact they are sold on the open market is even worse.

@BoneyM One question and two proposals for actions:

If we choose more than one manor construction/improvement actions, do they still cost us several personal actions? One would think that overseeing the building of a tower and of fortification on the same spot of land could happen at the same time.

Yes. If you don't want to personally oversee each project, hire a manager.

Instead of blindly choosing a buyer for our Niter I would like an actin that gets us talking with potential buyers to find out how much they are willing to buy and at what price.

There's not that many options. Nuln is the only major producer of gunpowder in the Empire, and Zhufbar is the only major dwarfhold that Stirland has trade ties to. Selling it as fertilizer instead means that you'll be distributing it to an entire province worth of farmers instead of any one person. Trying to split up distribution to min-max pricing would burn actions for very minor increases in profit.

We should definitely have an option to build a shrine to Ranald in our manor, especially if our blessing is liable to fade away otherwise.

Rather requires you to have a manor first. Once you do, there'll be options for what to put in it.

Hmm. @BoneyM I apologise if this has been asked before but I haven't gone through the entire thread; given that we have the Liber Mortis in our possession, how viable do you think it would be to study it with an especial eye towards publishing a treatise on especially efficacious counterspells to necromancy? Doing the work of understanding your enemy to better destroy them, then publishing the immediately relevant parts of that understanding. Things like magical harmonics that are especially effective against necromantic energies, or the psychological inclinations use of Dhar inflicts upon the practitioner, that sort of thing. Whatever can be gotten from the Liber Mortis.

Similarly, this is an option that may be available once you actually begin to read the Liber Mortis and see what can be derived from it.

Just to clarify, a topic with no modifiers (ie. Local History: "Goats and Not Much Else: A Very Brief History of Sonningwiese b ecause Nothing Has Ever Happened There") would give +1, while the two listed would be on +2 each? And a theoretical Extremely Rare but Extensive collection would give +5? A couple of posts I've seen seem to be reading it as if they can only have one modifier that overwrites the default bonus. Doesn't make a lot of sense, but an official clarification should clear them up.

Correct.

GM!

I have to ask, are the Knights of the Black Bear currently led by there undefeated champion, Smokey the Black Bear?

You've no exposure to Averland knights.

It does seem like the sort of thing Averlanders would do, though.

Trying to stack god bonuses is one of those things I don't want to discourage because of how fun it would be to write when it inevitably goes wrong.

Honestly though you probably shouldn't try it.

Would it be advisable to stack bonuses from gods that aren't rivals to one another? Verena and Ranald are opposed on Law, but Shallya for instance wouldn't care about Mathilde having Ranald as her patron deity.

Libraries can be powerful things.
And probably the most STABLE means of preventing botches on rituals then.

Last one who succeedes was Sigmar!

But really, Shallya is a pacifist. It'd never work out.

Have you considered chao undivided? Bonus from 4 gods for the price of 1. It not like you will be any worse when the order gods smite you.

The bonus comes from your patron deity, which you can only have one of unless you do or are something awesome enough that gods are okay sharing you.

I've finished waking up, so voting closed, writing has begun.

By all means.

I have been thinking of some long term goals we may wish to work towards:
1) Track down Teclis and follow him on his adventures.
2) Sneak into a fallen Dwarf Hold and reverse engineer the secrets of Rune Smithing.
3) Become Supreme Patriarch Matriarch.
4) Rid Sylvania of undead.
4b) Rid Mousillon of undead.
4c) Rid Nehekhara of undead.
5) Create an Empire-wide personal spy network.
6) Become an Advisor to the Emperor.
6b) Become the advisor to someone and make them Emperor.
6c) Become Emperor.
7) Take over a Tilean city state and declare its allegiance to the Empire.
7b) Take over a City state and don't declare allegiance to anyone.
8) Kill, or arrange the death of, Malekith.
9) Open trade relations between the Empire and Nippon.
10) Find out if Cathay is ruled by an actual dragon or just someone with delusions of dragonhood.

Any thoughts?
0) Spread Ranald cults in the Skavendom and watch the fireworks.
Other than that, I like the 7.

Well it looks like we're going to be buying a gun. So I've got some suggestions on what type to purchase.

The classic pistol, most likely done as flintlock but since we're getting it made by the dwarfs any mechanism should be effective and reliable.

Double the shots for twice the fun! Shoot both at once for some real kick or one at at time to take out two people.

You knew it was coming. The gun that keeps on shooting, the multi-barreled wheeling doom weapon, the pepperbox gun, for when you just can't stop shooting.

The ultimate in gun technology, the revolver. Because you deserve the best.

...

Or the maddest of them, the

So we can get +3 to Martial from sword skills and from pistol skills both, like Nelson did to munchkin the Battle of Trafalgar.

@BoneyM would it work? Normally I wouldn't even bother to ask but with this being Warhammer Fantasy it may just land on the right side of "ridiculous enough".

I've been doing some thinking about an indefinite goal for Mathilde. I haven't thought of a single definite one, but I have come up with a rule that ought to be followed.

The rule is that she can't leave Stirland behind. Stirland is her home, it's where she spent the most important years of her life in, it's where her power is, and it's where her friends are. We should not wipe the slate clean.

I'm inclined to agree, I'm fine with wandering around a bit, maybe helping out the dwarves or something but I'd like to keep coming back to Stirland.
