I am very concerned about our box that continually leaks magic. Part of the reason of the reason I want to stick around is that I'm worried about what will happen if we leave it alone for to long.

Cause we really can't carry it with us, it's way too fragile, might break at the slightest bump, and it's continually leaking rainbow magic which people might notice.

If we leave it be for too long I'm scared that someone will eventually find it, and even if we don't I'm scared of what will help if we aren't there to clean up after it for a long enough period of time and the liquid starts to pool up into a puddle around it.

So, like, for those who want to go wandering ... what's your plan for the box?

Legit.

[X] Plan Be the Bigger Witch

[X] Plan: Magic Duties to clean up!

Seems like the best plan to me. We were considering retiring anyway and I don't want Stirland collapsing because we decided to be petty. Give Julia the spy network, give the new countess a basic rundown of just what she lost and tell her that everyone left is a spy and call it a day. Well and also do our best to steal a bunch of funds, but that's just standard practice.

I do like the idea of taking the rifle and leaving a note about how we took it to make sure she won't shoot herself in the foot but it does feel a bit petty. Although learning to use a rifle might work well with out standard countspell tactic.

Those and hundreds of other possible roads are open to you, all of them enticing, and that you can only take one of them is galling.

Time to learn the shadow clone technique.

Wilhelmina frowns to herself. While she and Mathilde were never what she would call friends,
They are definitely good friends, hell they seem like they're practically family.

To be fair.

It's not that fragile.

A well cushioned carrying case should be more than fine.

This question should be addressed by all the plans we have. Leaving Shrodinger's snake without supervision for too long is bad.

Just a minor update on my adventure with the Vote Tally.

I performed an experiment, reconstructing my plan to look like this.

-[X] Give
--[X] Report on the past eight years
--[X] The Runefang of Stirland
--[X] Information Network
-[X] Keep
--[X] Abelhelm's repeater rifle
-[X] Keep
--[X] Liber Mortis.
-[X] Keep
--[X] Miscellaneous contents of Abelhelm's Study
-[X] Keep
--[X] Gong Farmers and Niter Factory
-[X] Keep
--[X] Discretionary Funds

And it is correctly counting the gives and keeps, even though they look a bit wonky in the post itself. Tally result looks nice and clean:

-[x] Give
--[x] Report on the past eight years
--[x]The Runefang of Stirland
--[x] Information Network
-[x] Keep
--[x]Abelhelm's repeater rifle
--[x] Liber Mortis.
--[x] Miscellaneous contents of Abelhelm's Study
--[x] Gong Farmers and Niter Factory
--[x] Discretionary Funds

All votes condensed correctly. So this is definitely both a useful feature if you do it the right way around, and a confusing bug if you do it backwards.

Anyway, I've had enough voting adventure for now, so I'm invalidating my previous vote with.

[X] Abelhelm's Hat.

That is all.

Only nitpick: our relation with her was 9/10, and she told her sons to be more like us apparently. I'd say she considers us a friend

Isnt Wilhelmina wishing that her children act more like us? our relation with her should be pretty high up there.

I would argue that there is a difference between liking somebody/wishing your children acted more like them and being 'friends' with somebody. We had a high relationship, but we never spent much on-screen time with her, and most of what we've found out about her character was found out more accidentally than by hanging out and talking to each other. Though you could argue that's part of something inherit to our EIC meetings, in which case it would be 'offscreen'. Point is, I personally wouldn't call Mathilde and Wilhelmina friends from what I know, but if @BoneyM says so one way or another, I'd be happy to change it.

@BoneyM Is taking the snake and the snake-juice with us to our new home (wherever it might be) an obvious thing to do? We don't want to micro-manage stuff that Mathilde would consider stupid not to do anyway.

It's not that fragile.
Isn't it a box made out of dozens of mirrors?

That's pretty fragile. It's hard to get more fragile then dozens of mirrors in one container.

I mean, to be fair, make up mirrors are relatively sturdy, but it's also one tiny mirror laid flat against a hard surface and completely covered, this is dozens of mirrors arranged into a maze in a single leaky box.

It's ultimately up to the GM but I'm thinking a glass maze is going to be fragile.

Besides that, it's leaking rainbow magic. Gonna be a little tricky to keep someone from noticing that.

This question should be addressed by all the plans we have. Leaving Shrodinger's snake without supervision for too long is bad.

I think the ones that have us stay in a set location are a bit safer in that we'd presumably be keeping an eye on it, but you're right, there is a bit of danger when we go off to take the test. Moving around is definitely worse though as we'd be leaving it completely unsupervised for long periods of time.

Luckily, with our horse we can travel really quickly, but still, that's a bit risky.

Well, that's my problem, some of these options don't have a new home. At least two of the options is to just wander around and not stay in one place.

No need to micro-manage moving items, all it takes is 1 action should we decided to move out of sunken palace.

This is a very good point. We've got several dangerous and possibly unstable magic items in the Sunken Palace, we need to examine them before moving, so we know we can move or store them safely. So, with that in mind:

[X] Plan: Magic Duties to clean up!
-[X] Enjoy a well-deserved holiday catching up with personal projects and living off your accumulated embezzlement.
--[X] We can't abandon our Sunken Palace until we've figured out the various leaking and/or unsafe magical items (Snake Box, that book, and Shyishkebabs) and worked out how to secure or transport them in our absence.
-[X] Managing your institutions - the EIC, your land, and the Information Network and Gong Farmers if retained.
-[X] Return to Altdorf to face the Magister's tests, and determine what to do with your life later.

And so I still vote for my main plan, reposting:

[X] Plan Be the Bigger Witch
-[X] Give
--[X] Report on the past eight years
---[X] Add a note that wishes her well in her position as Elector Countess and our willingness to remain in correspondence by letter, so we could provide some advice.
--[X] The Runefang of Stirland
--[X] Information Network
---[X] Give Julia our full blessing (and recommendation, if Julia wants it) to go for Spymaster.
--[X] Abelhelm's repeater rifle
--[X] Miscellaneous contents of Abelhelm's Study
---[X] Minus Abelhelms' spare hat, brandy flask, and any interesting books
-[X] Keep
--[X] Liber Mortis.
--[X] Gong Farmers and Niter Factory
--[X] Discretionary Funds

Anyway, it's sad to see we are pissing away a whopping two dwarf favor.

For no reason at all.
Not if you vote for a plan (shameless plug) that keeps the Niter Factory.

Yeah, you'll be packing all your things if moving. Otherwise there'll be decisions to be made about your things that can't be left indefinitely in storage.

That's pretty fragile. It's hard to get more fragile then dozens of mirrors in one container.

It'll be cushioned by the eternally suffering flesh of a demon-snake. Also, by feathers.

After a bit of thought, I think I will rewrite at least part of Wilhelmina's bit, our relationship was a bit higher than I thought it was, and I feel like there was more nuance to it than I gave credence to. I'll wait some to see if boney responds to see if she considered us a 'friend' or something else, but I'll get too it eventually.

She's not quite a friend, but that's more to the way she is than any distance between you. She definitely knows you well and is comfortable with you as her sole business partner, and as others have pointed out would be glad to exchange her sons for you as a daughter.

We'd be glad to exchange her as a Mother for ours, too.

Well, I'm sure we can spend some actions to keep Anton and Wilhelmina as firm and lasting allies. That way we are making sure Anton really isn't a super schemer and Wilhelmina isn't offed by her rotten sons.

Could we please keep the niter factory when we used a dwarf favor on it and have the merchant ties with the Company to actually profit from it? So many plans are giving it, it's driving me nuts.
