You could install a competent administrator and let it run itself. You only lose action points if you're personally overseeing it.

I assume we would need to spend action for recruitment and vetting like before? Also, would the institution be nonprofit, for profit, or extension of Stirland?

[X] Sketch out in broad strokes your activities over the past eight or so years.
[X] If they wish you to retain the position, very well. If not, that's fine too. You do not feel strongly one way or the other.
[X] All but eliminate your debt from the EIC purchases.

[X] Write a detailed report covering every major operation you performed under Van Hal's orders.
[X] You will make sure there's a secure handover of power, brief your successor, attend the long-delayed funeral of Abelhelm, and then finally give up the burden of Spymistress.

[X] Even if you do not continue as Spymistress, perhaps you could find another job on the Council. Your talents have flourished since you arrived in Stirland, and you could perform near any of them satisfactorily, thanks to Stirland's lowered standards.
[X] Spend the money on getting a school started up. You've suffered for the lack of educated people in Stirland long enough, you will train your own!(and make them your agents too while you're at it)

Good enough for me.
As per the Grey Order's strictures, the wealth is:
-Spent towards fulfilling obligations in her role as Knight to see to the interests of her country.
-Spent towards fulfilling obligations in her role as Spymaster to create a means by which people would PAY you to infiltrate their organizations.
-Spent towards fulfilling obligations in her role as Wizard to see to the preservation and development of knowledge.
-Spent towards fulfilling obligations in her role as Watch Commander to reduce poverty and `thus crime.
-Spent towards fulfilling obligations in her role as Ranald's faithful to see to the benefit of the Commons. shhh

Ergo, a school is as non-threatening an investment we can make.

The options BoneyM kindly added, for those who've already voted.

So basically our watch is on the edge of rebelling against us and currently don't accept Ranald and we are comprimised.

And we still don't know if we are keeping our job.

If anyone's looking for a vague idea of just how much 1291 gold is:
Vague estimates: You could start selling beer out of a shack in the slums for about forty gold, including the beer. Setting up a tavern along a trade road would only cost you what it takes to build it because you could get the land for a song, maybe 200 gold or so. A moderate size middle class tavern could run you 400. An established tavern of good repute on Wurtbad's main road could run you a thousand.

How should I format a vote to spend money on more than one thing? Because one thing I'd like is to buy a nice dwarven pistol for Mathilde's pistol proficiency (one that won't explode in our hands), and then spend the remainder on a school.

We already have enough money for a good pistol in our discretionary funds. It's under the embezzled money.
Just need the action and attention

New vote, also we might want to visit the Dwarf for a set of encyclopedia, new gun, and vacation.

-[X] You are a noble house, start recruitment and building for a modest guard unit.

If you're voting for more than one option for spending, I suggest you make that part a plan, otherwise your votes will just look like approval voting.

I stand by my question of how I should format a vote to spend dragonmoney on multiple things. Because if I list multiple [y] Thing1 [y] Thing2 items on separate lines, they'll be indistinguishable in the tally from two different users each voting for one of the things.
-[y] subitems?
[y] Thing1 And Thing2 in an entry?
Something clever @BoneyM has in mind, perhaps?

Ouch, not a good place to roll a mere 10. Still, only that and missing Kasmir were bad rolls this time, and everything else has worked out this time.

[X] Sketch out in broad strokes your activities over the past eight or so years.

Details are better given in person.

[X] You will serve the heir of Abelhelm as you did Abelhelm himself.

I think being the spy master is good position, especially since both the watch and the spy ring have been established enough that maintaining/improving them shouldn't take too many actions now.

[X] Plan Dame Weber

Edit: Adding this because approval voting.

[X] Even if you do not continue as Spymistress, perhaps you could find another job on the Council. Your talents have flourished since you arrived in Stirland, and you could perform near any of them satisfactorily, thanks to Stirland's lowered standards.

[X] Plan House of Webber
-[X] Improve your land near Sonningwiesse.
--[X] Improve the arms and armour of the local populace for when they are called as militia.
--[X] Rebuild the local manor house, complete with fortifications to shelter the locals should danger threaten.
--[X] Closely investigate the area for any mineral wealth.
--[X] Build farms and import farmers to compliment the herdsmen.
-[X] Other (write in)
--[X] You are a noble house, start recruitment and building for a modest guard unit.

Mathilde Webber is a Knight, she needs a proper fief to support a guard unit just to avoid the need of charging into enemies.

Edit: Approval vote

Let's free the Eight Peaks later

I think we should eliminate the debt as we can then actually start gaining money from our EIC investments, which we can then start funneling into our Fief.
