On the subject of The Axe, I wonder if we could get an item of Tale of Metal, and give it to either a very junior, or very, very senior Runesmith's Guild Member In Good Standing, and explain the use of it to him or her, then have them use it, say "east", "north" or "other", then you thank them for their service, see if you can file off their newly-stone pinky finger, and send them to the sculpture par retirement home for guildmembers injured in the line of duty.
The problem isn't the specific secret. Its that Gold wizards can with one touch bypass some protections on Guild Secrets, which means EVERYTHING they trade to humans can be used to steal guild secrets AND kills the fig leaf of "well the humans figured this out on their own already".

This, this right here, encompasses exactly what kind of bullshit cluster fuck this whole feud is. I don't remember if Ulric's disapproval of guns extends to cannons, but if so then both the Ar-Ulric and the Grand Theogonist are going directly against their own faiths' teachings in order to perpetuate their proxy war with each other, because a supposedly devout Sigmarite complaining about greatcannons going towards the defense of a Dwarf Karak is a step beyond even not bothering to send anyone to help with the Expedition imo.

They are fucking disgraces to their gods and to the Empire.
I don't think that's the religious authorities? I mean, they're almost certainly involved, but that specifically seemed like the Elector Counts.

Who are you thinking would use this? Mathilde should not have any passives or even long-duration effects on her which are based in something other than ulgu (and thus friendly with her casting) or runecraft (and thus magically neutral). She absolutely should not be running around with a hysh effect as minor as this one, as it would screw up any other internal buffs she wants- like substance of shadow, for example. Even the Speed of Light suggestion is mutually exclusive with a good chunk of Mathilde's usual combat suite. We should be keeping our usage of other Winds to immediately-resolved effects which are used sparingly and as-needed.

The anti-poison/disease items being proposed right now are basically just "if get poisoned but aren't willing to risk seed charges fixing it because we might also get stabbed later, this would be useful!" which is to say, so niche as to be mostly pointless.

Unless of course we want to give them to someone else so that they can run around in poison gases killing things with us. Then they'd be useful. But we're short on non-wizard, non-dwarf combat buddies.

A bit more seriously, i kinda envisioned us artillering the mountain and then covering it in shadows when it comes out to play, then once it approaches the mountain we use our secret teleport tower to kick him back into his original position and make him run the gauntlet again. Not based on anything mind you, just found the scene cool.
 
I say that Mathilde gets a map, a couple of darts, a few mugs of fine dwarven ale and says a prayer to Ranald before divining the origin of the axe the old fashioned way. Of course, we will need to get the temple up first.

Actualy Speed of Light is internal and Mathields combat suite is mostly external buff, so outside of substance of shadows and not being able to cast while going maximun oversword it doesn't mess with her combat suite.

I consider both substance of shadows and "able to cast and counterspell" important to Mathilde's combat array, but I can see how one might think otherwise. Personally I think she's quite good at swording already and if we want a battle magic oh-shit button I'd rather invest in a powerful AoE damage spell than a personal prowess amplifier.

Internal instead means she can't cast while it lasts, the magic HAS to pass internally.
It lasts for about two roll-offs. I have trouble seeing a situation where we'd be going maximum sword and also need casting for that short amount of time.

It's not a war buff, it's a duel buff. Let's us defeat warbosses instantly.

Proposing two project plans since people have strong opinions on whether we should propose AV before or after we get around to answering basic questions on it.

As for the college item I'm CERTAIN we want anti poison, the question is if we want Ill-Bane, which fixes poison and disease in an area(likely disinfecting any poison smoke clinging to us) or if we want to go for Boon of Hysh for healing all injury, disease, poison and malady, but probably is usable less often, costs more and is single target.

We do NOT want a passive immunity item, we're pretty full up on those without magical interference.

I.e. Malady covers exotic weird shit effects over merely poison, is it enough of a concern?E: Clipped one plan

Clan Eshin aren't moving against Clan Mors. Clan Skryre seem happy to skirmish against Clan Mors instead of applying the full might of their technosorcery. Something's not right.
