Seems like it wouldn't do anything but inflate the option list, considering it would have zero actual benefit to anything but Mathilde's ego.
You could always include it in a generic "encourage learning additional spells/filling out their spellbooks" action for ducklings. Though admittedly a generic magical training hasn't seemed to feature too much - maybe it's just waiting for a narrative impetus?

DP updates to go along with wizard club:
Johann, Magister of the Gold Order

> Johann's natural glibness sets off every suspicious bone in your body, which is all of them, but you're pretty sure you've got a good read on him.
< Every time he thinks he's got something by you, it's come back to bite him later. He's accepted that it will be easier for him to be your employee than to be your problem.

Armament: Handgun
Speciality: Fisticuffs
Mission: Reverse-engineering Skaven technology
Diplomacy: 19 - Johann is naturally likeable and gets along with most people.
Martial: 15 - There might be a point in the future where you'll regret not stopping this here and now.
Stewardship: 15 - Some might call gilding your body 'ludicrously expensive'. Johann considers it an investment.
Intrigue: 18 - When most of your body is gold, you learn not to draw attention.
Piety: ???
Learning: 14 - Johann leans heavily on magic to skip right to the discoveries.
Magic: 6 - Johann has a natural gift for elemental Chamon.
Johann gained another point of martial, 14 to 15

Adela Burgstaller, Journeywoman of the Bright Order
Armament: Wand
Speciality: ???
Mission: Engineering
Diplomacy: 11 - Not her strong suit, but she can be convincing when it occurs to her.
Martial: 13 - Military training has elevated badness to mere mediocrity.
Learning: 16 - Adela has an affinity for both the fires of Aqshy and industry.
Magic: 4 - Her reach is impressive, but she really should let her grasp catch up.
We now know adela's diplo skill, from hearing about her attempts to convince dwarves to teach her stuff

Gretel Maurer, Journeywoman of the Amethyst Order
Armament: Summoned scythe
Speciality: ???
Mission: Wealth
Martial: 16 - Her talents in combat have begun to blossom.
Intrigue: 20 - She's small, thin, and quiet. It's not easy to look past those explanations to the genuine skill underneath.
Learning: 17 - She's whip-smart and very well read in the Lores of Shyish and Morr.
Magic: 3 - She has superb control, but not a lot of power.
And we learned that gretel is quite good at intrigue...to compare, we're at 21, which means that she is better than we were until we got advanced infiltration skill (in pure general skill at least, obviously spells, experience, and specific skills make that vary)

I want to have the maximum number of dwarven revovlvers.

I'm kind of really glad we gave the ooze to Johann now. Looks like he's managed to really make something of it. It's also possible that this could severely impact the raising of cows, sheep, goats, etc in K8P. Gather up waste, add to ooze, make more ooze, add ooze to feed. Hopefully all without the issues of prions.

A sneaky amethyst wizard is really scary. They have some really powerful spells and if she can sneak close enough to use them it's game over.

"Still stalled on the damn ratling gun, but I've been working with Panoramia with the ooze we found. It can digest just about anything organic and turn it into... well, more of itself. We're feeding it to some of the cattle and they seem to like it okay, we're up to three months without ill effects at half their diet."

"That's," you pause, consider. "Possibly a really big deal." You consider further. "And might answer some questions about Skaven logistics."
It's food? The ooze that breaks down organic matter is food?

It is defenitly a long term project as anything that could effect food supply needs to be taken very slowly and carefully. But, if it works out it could be a huge boost to K8P ability to keep cattle.

the dwarf population thing could be helped in several ways.

1) Work on removing the stigma of having kids out of wedlock.
2) Propaganda to encourage more kids. "It's your duty to repopulate your Karak! Only YOU can help defeat the (insert enemy name here.)
3) Make the Karak a safe haven for radicals. those that don't conform to normal dwarf society. those that want to experiment with new tech or ideas. these types tend to be more open to change, like being encouraged to have more kids.
4) (Joke) Open a temple to Slaanesh.
5) give tax breaks to larger families.
6) Reach out and try to entice more Imperial dwarfs to move here.
7) They are already doing this, but use non dwarf mercs.
8) make the Karak a desirable place for dwarf mercs between contracts.

probably a few more ideas out there

Not fond of spending dwarf favor on the +1 for exotic, tbh...we've got a trickle of DF books now, we can afford to wait a bit imo, as such here's a modification of the other plan:

[X] [LIBRARY] Plan no favour mines
-[X] Skaven: Dwarven Antiquarian
-[X] Karaz Ankor: Imperial Esoteric, Bretonnian Extensive
-[X] Total cost 100 + 150 + 100 = 350, 2 favours. Out of pocket: 50 gc, 0 favours

Also i'd like to add a couple more things, and i think it'd be fair to get the extra 6 months and only spend an action or so on it given how far we've exceeded expectations with the first turn on the tower

"The ooze devours organic matter to make more of itself. We fed it to cows."
"And did you end up with more cows, or more ooze?"

[X] [TOWER] Complete

I am really torn.... but I actually thinking putting a focus on underground defense as soon as we can would be for the best Karaks the Skaven aren't going to fight each other forever and the sooner Eight Peaks can secure it's underside from the better, and Ironbreakers actually seem to be one of the Dwarf groups most receptive to new inventions in the existence of Irondrakes is anything to go by.

This makes me think that one day, were we to have a friendly sparring match with Johann (without setting Branulhune to Kill, of course), our perfectly muscled ass is gonna get spanked by golden hands.

...I think I need to lay off the romance novels for a bit.

How in gods name did our fancy magic trick remove the fact that we are deep in enemy territory, with only a single, long route connecting us towards the rest of the civilized world? There is no shadow in the world big enough to safeguard our supply line and any force large enough to threaten us is also large enough to easily destroy any convoy trying to reach us. Keeping the Blood River and Co open requires constant patrols and heavily relies on the fact that the various factions of the Badlands have as of yet made no real attempt to blockade us (and luckily for us Orks and Goblins don't tend to be very good at that kind of lengthy strategic warfare, at least intentionally). The land that convoys have to cross to reach us is famous for swallowing entire armies and nobody has ever managed to pacify it for any length of time. Sure we are probably in no danger of running out of food and water but that generally doesn't seem to big that big of an issue when it comes to besieged Karaks anyway and even then so far at least we seem to be heavily reliant on suppliess from the rest of the world. And sure, there is the possibility of shipping stuff via the air but that ignores the fact that its both expensive and that air travel isn't truly safe either, warhammer has a lot of creatures capable of flight like for example wyverns who shouldn't be that uncommon in our region.

Also you happily ignore that so far we seem to have made no attempt to even reclaim the deeper areas and mines of the Karaks (aka the truly productive areas) and it is again holding those that tends to be so disastrously attritious for the dwarves.
Ah, that seems to completely ignore the entire point.
I agree with you, we are not secure, the threat we have covered is explicitly a siege cutting us off, which we can now easily disable (excepting very especific counters conjured up for the purpose of justifying further investment).
People want to make sure that our anti-boat cannon can also defeat anti-anti-boat cannon boats, while we are boarded, leaking and sorrounded by submarines.
