The thing is, we don't actually need dinosaurs? I mean, who's going to be spending actions trying to take care of some salamanders or whatever once Seija and Esbern go home? Us, probably. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Honestly it depends on the dinosaur.
The way I see right now if it is good for it we are likely going to give them to the Undumgi so they have dinosaur calvary to better patrol and fight in the reconquest if need be, if they are salamanders the bright colege will lilely love them and give us a ton of favor, if all else fail we can probably trade with the imperial zoo, and so and do forth.

Basicaly the biggest problem of the eggs is that we can't have a good idea of the best use of them until they hatch and we know what they are , whatever we do with them when the two go way is guaranted to be way better than what we will with them whitout the two here.

And that is not even going into having them helping with the spiders on the side.

maybe Dawi Umgri? human-like dwarves, also translatable as poorly made dwarves
with that mindset, let's invite as many empirical dwarfs as possible to the hold.
they have a lot more human mindset, from living among them for so long. 'gasp' they even have clansmen go into different guilds and have different careers, instead of having every member of the clan be in a single guild devoted to a single career.

Dinosaur eggs. Mostly I want them to raise them up so we can trade them to the Imperial Zoo and score a pegasus. Also the Amber Wizard favor for the research projects we can stick our name on. (We can always just pay someone else to look after the dinosaurs if the Amber Wizards are busy, we won't be spending actions on them unless we want to personally ride them around or trade them for cool stuff.)
I want my dinosaur-riding halflings.

This seems like the useful and time sensitive stuff.

I'm a little confused as to how our rep is being counted here, are [] being counted while the rest are nullified because of politics?

They're cold ones, we figured it out earlier when Esbern looked at them.
Nah we assumed that, we now they are carnivore and not apex, but there is bunch of possibilities, like salamanders and other things, cold ones are just the most well know option. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up roling for what they are.

I know we like to be PC here on sufficientvelocity, but so far as I know forest spiders aren't sentient and they eat people.

We don't need to open diplomatic talks with them. We can just kill them.

You may want to go back and reread that update, because we have no idea what kind of spider these are and they were sentient enought to trigger our ulgu sense. So these aren't standart forest spiders as far as we know.

I agree with not starving the spiders if its possible to diplomance them. Also humans asking a Grimnir shrine in Karak Nar means eventual Human slayers along with my earlier mentioned Ursun's Bear cavalry if there's a population of bears near K8P.

While spider sapience/sentience is a fascinating topic, I think more relevant is the fact that you could have a kickass giant spider mount.
While it's no dragon, a kickass giant spider mount is a kickass giant spider mount.

We did not actually, them being Cold Ones is entirely thread speculation and the only thing we actually have from Boney on them is that like most eggs they need to be warmer and were not an apex predator, were carnivorous and had keen senses.
Finally, after over an hour, she stirs, suddenly thrusting the egg into Esbern's waiting hands with a shiver - a shiver of cold, rather than of horror, thankfully. "Too cold," she says. "Alive, but waiting for heat." She rubs her arms as she shifts from foot to foot. "Carnivore," she confirms. "Not apex. Not especially intelligent, but sharp senses."

Seems good to me.

Too important an opportunity to pass up.

I am strongly against the Grand Abyss, because it's a lonely place. Picking the penthouse for its closeness to Ranald's future shrine.

[X] Convince Esbern and Seija to stay long enough to deal with the spiders in the Chiselwards.

I've been convinced by the argument that the spiders possibly have sapience and how that could be important.

[X] Claim the site where Ranald mugged Mork and build a shrine to Ranald there.

For obvious reasons.

We can get our stuff later. Right now, strike while the iron's hot.

Now I don't have any idea what an Idol of Gork is

First, the link.

An Idol of Gork and Mork is basically the Greenskin equivalent to a Steam Tank.

The big difference is that they can end up signficantly bigger than a Steam Tank while retaining the mobility of a humanoid. All told, they're rather deadly.

Especially for squishy wizards stuck in point blank range of them.

I'm a little confused as to how our rep is being counted here, are [] being counted while the rest are nullified because of politics?

The stuff outside of [] are the explanations for the Favor and Rep we did gain.

Sounds like the sort of greenskin shenanigans that our dwarven friends wouldn't approve of.

@BoneyM, is there any practical reason for buying that border prince title that can justify us getting it? Becoming an official Princess sounds pretty cool to me but not sure how we can spin that to the bursars.

You're right, maybe these are the first ever sentient spiders recorded in Warhammer Fantasy, more sentient than Arachnarok spiders that are as big as houses and can sort of be communed with if you eat a second, smaller, poisonous spider, trip out and manage to not die. Maybe they'll have desires and demands beyond 'I'm tired of the taste of Orc and you look delicious.'

Or we could just go ahead and kill them.
