I had a DL-related dream. For reasons I can't remember, Paranoth confirmed to Mathilde that the The Dwellers Below spell involved Apparitions. Then, after questioning her, she sort-of confirmed she knew about Gehenna's Golden Hounds also being Apparition-based.

The idea of Mathilde revealing a secret like that shocked me awake, but it seems like a sign! A sign... That we should delay Apparition-binding until we can convince the Jades and Ambers to reveal their own methods of doing so, to synergize with them.

Clearly, my dream is a totally reasonable justification for delaying that.

We have synergy. It's called the Liber Mortis, one of the best primers on magically controlling minions. Whether it's applicable or not without breaking the Articles is something we'll have to find out.

You know one of the things I am curious about is how the poor Hochalander will take our visit into the dread land of Silvania for a spot of book shopping. There was that negaverse where he was constantly worrying over Mathilde's.... Mathildeness.

If anyone is inspired to get down more of that nega-quest I for one would definitely appreaciate it. ;)

Hey wait, does the LM have knowledge on binding stuff like Hexwraiths? I guess it does
That's the spell Control Undead:

"You bend one of the ethereal Undead to your will. You can target any one creature with both the Ethereal and Undead traits within range. The creature is entitled to a Will Power Test to resist this spell." Page 119 Night's Dark Masters 2nd Edition

It's Lore of Necromancy.

It's not part of Nagash's power or anything, it's main power was to give Vlad his instant regeneration.
Was it instant regeneration? From the mechanics of how it works in Nights Dark Masters and the lore of the various ways he got killed during the First Vampire War, I was under the impression it was more in the pace of 'he'll be up and about again by the end of the day', rather than 'the flesh closed up as soon as the sword parted it'.

All right, relatively instant.

I was thinking in comparison to, say, a century.

(Though I believe in terms of tabletop mechanics it very much was instant)

For information on what the Ring did for Vlad, the current indication in this quest of what it does is below here.

Hey @BoneyM do we know where Vlad von Carsteins remains are kept? I assume in some Imperial vault in Altdorf or something. Or was Vlad a rare case of a 'true' vampire kill?

In conjunction with this though. What was so special about Vlad's ring? As you've stated a few times, quest cannon is that it's almost/absolutely impossible to fully kill a vampire. Did it give him 'super regen' by comparison or did it have some other effects

Vlad's Ring basically made him Wolverine.

personally I've always dreamt of making an Arcanite (Tzeentch cult) quest set in some tyrannical death city that the main character either lives in, or is summoned to by the cult

the Arcanites are really neat because we get alot of lore about how they function and their organizational structure

With all the talk about vlad I'm kinda, secretly hoping he gets out at some point. He and Mathilde duking it out would be epic. Though probably high chances of death on our part...

At the same time I'm curious to see how it would turn out, and convinced our only hope is to run away. He's one of the Progenitors, he won't be as easy to kill as Alcatraz.

I hope we at some point meet a vampire we can just have a chill conversation with instead of trying to kill
I think that Von Sangster could be an option, but in-character we don't know about him.

In a white room duel Vlad would murder us, in an army vs army fight we would humiliate Vlad with his own teachings. Second Secret of Dhar says hi. And of course once he does not have an army well no one says we have to fight fair.
