Though you mentioned before that Mathilde thinks Naggaroth might be connected to L'Anguille, and while we have good reason to believe that's not really the case that does give Mathilde a reason to think that the Druchii have some use for the Waystone network

Mathilde already thinks that Hatalath is hiding something related to the L'Anguille connection, and the probable lack of Waystones in Naggaroth likely only exacerbates Matty's suspicion. She might not know of Albion's existence, but she has reasons to believe that L'Anguille doesn't actually connect with Naggaroth.

Edit: ninja'd by Boney

We are not seducing any dark elves. Or at least, not without getting Pan's permission first.

Morathi's type is Aenarion and anyone who looks like Aenarion. That's why she got involved with her own son and why in some of the more recent Editions she becomes enamored with Tyrion. Thankfully they ditched that stuff in Age of Sigmar, but that's her type back in WFB. Although she has wider tastes when it comes to one time flings I imagine.

We know what forms the daemonettes she summons take :V

I headcanon him as tall, black hair, clean shaven (when he has the time) and a serious face
I remember Boney used to have a picture as a stand in for him in the Dramatis Personae, like Kasmir's, but it's not there anymore. If I remember correctly he had a thick beard there.

In terms of height, I'm pretty sure he was described as gigantic. Galen isn't quite as tall or bulky, but he's a good enough body type. I also don't want to mess with his beard. I'd just have to find a Witch Hunter hat, because only Doralia gets one, which is kind of a bummer.

I do think it's funny that the younger girl who is the one smiling on her model gets the hat and her grim father is the one who goes hatless.

Also, I made a statement earlier on that Galen and Doralia were brother and sister. That was a mistake, they're father and daughter.

So, when Boney said that going for leylines was going to be extremely difficult, he literally meant "Steal the secrets from Malekith and Morathi" difficult.

Huh

That's one rather extreme option to get Leylines going, and so presumably isn't the only way to do so. As it feels odd, barring an unlucky Elf Vacation, to even have the opportunity of meeting these legendary figures.

The easiest way to get Waystone secrets out of the elves is to take the elfcation, hope for a Protector proc on some big massive threat, and leverage that into access to the Tower of Hoeth or something.

Honestly though, we should expect the elfcation to be mostly focusing on swording and learning some neat shadow spells and maybe checking out of Loec and Ranald are the same person.

.... Still going to insist on wearing the Protector for that though.

The biggest things we need for elfcation are finish the sword style and learn how to bind warp entities.

While there are minor things like bind shadow, finish spell book and etc they may not prove as beneficial as the first two.

Ah yes. The mythical Elfcation. The one where we're never ready for it and will never go to because there's always that little bit more improvement we could do before we take it. That Elfcation :V

I think the thing about elfcation is that it's from the elf's, we could do it in a hundred years and they wouldn't be too surprised. But also it's dangerous, it's going into a active warzone where high elves and druchi duke it out. If we are not ready for that we might easily die...

Though i will say that i don't think we necessarily need apparation binding, it would give us a instant back-up (just add water)

I'd be happy going once the swordstyle is finished.

Way I figure, the big reason why Mathilde impressed the Dwarfs so much and made such an impact is that she was so outside the context of what Dwarfs can do.

We aren't going to impress the Elves with Battle Magic that they consider bog-standard; to make a splash we'll be relying on the Dwarf equipment or uniquely human developments (invented spells or masteries or something)- and Branurhune is a good thing for that.

... I don't want "fuck you" pendulum to impress, i want it because that is a really powerful spell that could save our ass.

In regards to the topic of pursuing perfection, while reading Age of Sigmar books, I came across a paragraph that surprisingly resonated with me. Surprisingly because it comes from Grungni of all people:
From Page 21 of Age of Sigmar Soul Wars: Forbidden Power. Not entirely one to one to our situation, but sometimes, perfection can be the enemy of progress.

Reminder that the invitation to train with the shadow elves was given to Magister Weber. Turning up as a Lord Magister with a pocket full of Battle Magic and a Grandmaster sword style kinda defeats the point, I feel.

Sure, I'm not saying it's going to be simple—it's brutal guerilla warfare between two factions who really hate each other—but at the same time we're don't have to overprepare for it.

We survived mountain Vietnam, I'm sure island Vietnam can't be much worse.
