oh thank god

this thread madness was hitingt harder as the wait had a 'will we die?' weight to it...

it appears we got spotted and then she got the jump on us probably one of the worst case scenarios (it could always be even worse with dice rolls but def on the bad bad side of scenarios) with someone like drycha

Biggest worry is that she can counter spell the seed. So we just die outright. Not sure if that works that way though.

It's a bound spell, so she can do that. My assumption is that she wouldn't bother though. She's impatient and in a hurry, so she'd likely kill Mathilde and leave to get the objective. Mathilde is a distraction not an objective.

It would've been insult to injury if they didn't. Unfortunately Mathilde just barely hit the double digits on an int check. Not looking good for her.

I mean would she even have the wounds to survive if she killed Mathilde? Assuming we get any kind of hit in Drycha would have to take that and all the damage she inflicted to down Mathilde

The belt doesn't auto wound. It inflicts a hit equal to the strength of the attack that inflicted it +2. That has a chance to fail to wound. Back when Boney used to use Tabletop stats it didn't auto wound, which is an indication of how he treats it. People have been treating it as an auto win button in case Mathilde dies but I'm not so sure about that.

Drycha is really not all that tough though, she is about dwarf tough which is to say only a little more than Mathilde after the Rune of Toughness. While it is not auto-wound it is a pretty solid chance to wound against most humanoid beings.

oh I didn't know that bad and yah even if we survive too, to quote boney
Regular reminder that neither the Seed nor Kragg's belt will heal the psychological damage from being actually literally killed and maybe it shouldn't be looked at as an unambiguous win if Mathilde being murdered to death takes the opponent down too.
