Going for the capture is risky...if we do go for it, I think calling for reinforcements is the right call. If we want to kill him, all of the options are good, but I think the Dragonflask has the best lethality, and using Branulhune is the next best. I just don't trust shadow knives on this guy, though that may be because we've never used them on big targets yet.

See, this is why Greys are bullshit. Even when you think you've caught one out, they're just playing decoy for an even sneakier friend.

Kill or follow.
Capture has too many potential failure states.
Not least of which is Alberich talking honestly and truthfully to who ever interrogates him.
So either he dies now, or dies once he is out of the crowds.
Personally i favour kill now with shadow knives.
Then follow the chair out of the crowds and arrest the porters.

Given our actual goal - avoiding anything that could reveal Heidiella's secret - I think capturing would be massively counterproductive.

Him being questioned means him getting to talk, and potentially making comments on his family history. Those comments may well not be believed, but if they shed the wrong form of doubt it could be bad. Avoiding that is why we're still here despite not negotiating with Myra.

But I'm not sure how to go about killing him. Flamethrower is tempting for the simple reason that we don't know what abilities he'll have but "immune to being blasted into a thousand pieces" is unlikely to be one of them.

But I don't want collateral damage on our conscirmvr if it can be avoided, and dragonflask in city streets is going to be hard to avoid doing splash damage with, as shrapnel from the explosion will go flying.

So I'm leaning towards Branulhune - it's big, it's flashy, but it's also damn near certain to kill him in one strike, while Shadow Knives are only highly likely to kill him in the first volley.

Shadow Knives does have the advantage that if it doesn't work we can likely vanish into the crowds and try again later.

Ah right, he might spill the beans about Heidi, right?

Kill - Marksdwarf Pistol. Boom. Headshot.
You trust a mere pistol against a man in league with the dark powers?

Loud and messy and entirely inferior to our cannonsword.

I think Branalhune is our bet here. Fire in a city is a bad idea, shadow knives I don't trust the lethality of. I propose one modification from the Branalhune option as-written: can we wait until he's away from the crowd as we would with the Dragonflask? Keep innocents as far away as practical in the city. Or would we be doing that anyway?

Duking it out here on the streets would have one benefit.
Loads of eye witnesses seeing the Grey Order and the Longshanks taking out a heretic and an agent of the ruinous powers.
Hard for Alric to start arguing for credit then.

The idea is to get a perfect surprise blow right now when we already know where he is and he thinks he's in the clear

@Boney Is this a suitable write-in (once tidied up)?
[ ] Follow - unless the path goes through a quite area and then kill him

Basically follow, but if there is a good opportunity take it before he reaches Alric. Or is this covered by follow?

[] Kill: Dragonflask
Wait for the sedan chair to leave the crowd, then subject it to Bright College artifice.

I mean, my greater concern with this one is, can we even do this without setting a significant chunk of city on fire?

That said, if we could, this would definitely have my vote. Alberich might be strong enough to survive being bisected; he might be tricky enough to avoid mockery of death. But I highly doubt he has an answer for 'atomize everything in that general direction.'

Plus, I just want to use it. Don't tell me you all weren't a little disappointed when we didn't break it out during our camp raid with the Ice Witch.
