[X] The enemy reaction is greater than expected. Make your way to join the imminent battle outside.
-[X]Carefully.

The Deceiver
- The Gambler: As per Ranald's Gift, but can occur twice during one action.
- The Night Prowler: As long as you are outside of private property and within a town or city, nobody will question your presence and nobody will be able to find you if you do not wish them to. For non-human population centres, will work if it's not completely unknown for humans to be present, or if you are disguised as that species.
- The Deceiver: Lies you have developed beforehand will be delivered perfectly. The listener may believe you to be mistaken, but they will never believe that you are lying. Cannot be used to tell truths.
- The Protector: When you act in a way that defends an individual or group from a danger that you did not cause, they will become aware of what you have done and will believe you acted selflessly in doing so.
So all of these are quite nice but the real winner here is The Deceiver.
Listeners to our lies will never think we're lying.

The Deceiver

Mathilde walked up to the Orc guards. She was not sneaking about but instead simply walked up to them forthrightly and undisguised. Well with the appearance of being undisguised, she was of course utilizing her doppleganger spell to appear like a particularly large and impressive Orc. "Alright ya Gitz, I'm Da boss so ya'z hav' ta lis'en to me."

The Orks quickly fell in line after a few quick smacks to the head and she continued to walk into the Orc camp. She continued to tell every orc she met that she was in charge smacking heads and instilling some magic assisted fear when necessary to speed things along. Soon she came before the Orc Boss, he was typical of the species large, green, toothy and covered in enough metal scrap that it constituted armor if only by sheer quantity. "I'm Da Boss now, you do wha' I say." she growled out in her best orcish approximation.

The Orc Boss appeared even more confused than usual, a difficult thing for an orc to manage considering their usual appearance. "But.. I'm Da boss?" he spoke in a puzzled tone.
Mathilde interrupted him before he could gather momentum and come to his senses, "No. Dun ya remember? Ya agreed I waz ta be da new Boss!" she said.

Back and forth Mathilde and the Orc Boss argued as the surrounding greenskins watched transfixed by this new entertainment. The Orc Boss was trapped between the truth that it knew and the perfect lie in front of it. As Mathilde and the Orc argued the orc became more and more lost in its confusion and being an orc it did the natural thing when faced with confusion, "I'm DA BOSS!" he shouted while waving his arms into the air, finally riled up enough to have lost his temper and sense.

A moment later and the Orc Boss's head rolled of his shoulders. Mathilde had cut it off and it was only as the action was completed that the Orc Boss had noticed the movement, his head staring up at her in bewilderment for a few moments before it finally lost consciousnesses. There was a moment of silence as all the greenskins watched and Mathilde took advantage of the moment. She pointed at one of the orcs she'd shouted at before and said, "Who's da Boss ya git?"

After a few moments of hesitation that nearly cost the orc his life a glimmer of realization finally appeared in his eyes, "You are boss."

I mean, it just convinces people of our sincerity, not of our correctness. How does that actually contribute to anything in the scenario envisioned?
We'd still just be the crazy hummie going 'round the camp krumpin' boyz.

More pertinently than voice, she does not smell of WWAAAAGH like a good boss should.

In 40K orks instinctively detect and murder genestealer infected orks. I imagine FB ones have something similar?

[X] This wealth is the future of Karak Eight Peaks. Stay here with the Hoard.

I think she's too tired to be much more than a danger to herself. Remember we had to roll to just cast a spell we know correctly.

There's no way it'll be that powerful, right?
We'll have to experiment a little before trying that, at least.

On another note, the Night Prowler one (enter any public plae unchallenged) will be utterly amazing to infiltrate Skaven warrens.

For those interested in The Deceiver story.
  • [*] Mathilde used doppelganger to appear like an orc.
[*] She used Shadow of Death to put fear into orcs to speed things along.
[*] She used cloak activity to help kill the orc (probably combined with a magic weapon).
[*] Being a massive 10 foot tall Orc Warboss slathered in magic items, armor and weaponry tends to stop people questioning you're legitimacy, especially after killing the last guy who did so.
[*] You can imagine for yourself whether she used something to disguise her voice or if all the orcs are cowering to an Orc who speaks in the badly disguised voice of a humie woman. Same for other parts of the disguise like smell.

Anyway it's mostly entertainment but I do find it to a be a surprisingly plausible scenario of something Mathilde could perform in the future.

I won't know if there's anything that needs tweaking with my current plan until I sit down and fully write out the update, so What Might Have Been will have to wait until after.
Might want to wait until after kEP to show What Might Have Been since the knowledge may unduly influence people.

I know MC can't actually admit to this in public... but after getting a little possessed by and Ork god to spite the other Ork god for being a total git, Mathilde gets offered a job by Brutality and somehow managed to confuse the issue enough on what the job that was offered actually was... that it somehow morphed into the suddenly dice game scenario and some freakishly bland git shows up. This somehow devolves into an four way tie of a game and the pot gets split evenly... Only it was played entirely with contents of Cunning's bank account/investment annuity.

So the Ork god that offered her a job makes bank with the rest of the crew and the other ork god thinks it made bank for about twelves seconds before it abruptly realizes that it was the only one involved in paying into the pot in the first place. At which point, it flips out and the Citadel WAGH!s out or something and the explosions from nowhere go off everywhere. Also the sky is bleeding angry lightning like hornets from a large disgruntled hornets nest for some inexplicable reason.

All in all wacky hijinks have happened (probably) resulting in a semi-random fortress going down for the second time this week. We can only hope that lots of very confused skaven are offed as collateral damage during this.

Well, that was awesome. Same goes for your elaborations regarding different results.

Still a bit sad not to see the craziness of a Morky Mathilde after choosing that path and rolling on the extreme end of the dice for when it comes to details, but it's probably for the best. Everyone suddenly finding themselves in an Orc quest would have ruffled quite a few feathers.

--Practically speaking theres nothing stopping you from copying it except cost of production. Rifling is doable, but takes either a skilled artisan or a Gold Wizard time to individually rifle the weapons, while super effective ammunition can be done with a variety of methods(chemically speaking any number of impact triggered incendiary or explosive could work, the problem is the increased risk of exploding your hand off, while magically...you need an enchanter to maintain your ammo supply), but once again runs into the artisanal problem of individually handmaking ammo with elite labor.
How do Skaven manage all this production?
and the protective gear to not die from the backblast.
Can't that be looted and reverse engineered as well?
and killed every human down to non-combatants as a lesson.
I don't quite understand how dwarven morality works there. Aren't many of those humans essentially parts of different "clans"? If King Belegar, for some weird reason, betrayed dwarven honor in his capacity as a king, would that mean that all inhabitants of K8P would have to either take on the Slayer Oath or have their lives be forfeited to be hunted down by other dwarves?
Because stealing from our friends is bad?
You mean like when we embezzled from Abelheim?
Thus to take home the most useful amount of information in the most efficient manner, a very Chamon thought, he'd need coded notes or diagrams or some form of written or inscribed material which could be found.
I'd be surprised if the Gold Order doesn't have ways to encode information that, while not comparable to Grey Order ciphers hidden behind eyelids and such, are still unaccessible by most. Like, say, building a box that encodes information only in the process of its creation, with no way to open it without breaking it.
It's expected that her orders are for the success of the Expedition and the survival of the Journeymanlings and as such their preferences are irrelevant.
We pretty much placed almost all of them based on our educated guesses as to where they would be most comfortable and experienced. Instead of using educated guesses, wouldn't it make sense to just ask them? King Belegar knows little regarding our skills and how to use them, so he gives us near free reign as to how to apply ourselves. We know quite a bit more than him when it comes to the journeymanlings capabilities, but we aren't really experts either. So asking them about it while retaining the right to make the final decision makes sense I think.
who would have been the Prophet of Only Mork, a force of pure Cunning.
How would a goblin devoid of brutality even look like, let alone rule any greenskin?
This is a genuine question asking for speculation, not a rhetorical one designed to disagree with you.
This is nothing more or less than legalized corruption and a sign of systemic failure.
The Empire is ruled by nobles. The whole system of feudalism is literally nothing but a complete system built upon the complete enshrinement of legalized corruption.
1: One Less God.
2: Two Gods Notice.
3: Man In The Middle.
4: Split Four Ways.
5: A Fifth Aspect.
6: The Sacred Number.
Any chance you could also elaborate on the other numbers? Some of them I don't understand at all.
1: Would this always have been Ranald?
2: What does this mean?
3: Or this?
5: I assume you would have rolled for potential aspects? That could range from the one we tried to create back at the Watch, over a Magic/Ulgu one, up to a greenskin dedicated aspect of Ranald that steals not just Waaagh energy but also followers from the green brothers.
6: Whose sacred number is that? What would it result in?
So with doppelganger we could sneak into the city of pillars and scout that place out? Because that sounds like a really good idea eventually.
We could use it to infiltrate Skaven society and proselytize for Ranald, as someone suggested a long time ago.
Good and Dramatic: Global war between goblin and orc
Would that have been in addition to the Good result or instead?

Also, isn't this one pretty much what would have happened if we didn't intervene, or am I misunderstanding something? I thought splitting up Gork and Mork was the ultimate goal behind the ritual, no?

How would a goblin devoid of brutality even look like, let alone rule any greenskin?
My best guess? Probably the same as the goblins in Practical Guide to Evil. More points to intrigue and secrecy. Less points on muscles.

Anyway, it's a bit too soon, but anyone got a tally?

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Or rather, if Mathilde can order strongly suggest Panoramia to go to sleep after exhausting herself, she probably ought to do the same.
