The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

I think that we should go with Ultramarines as the main gene seed and Word Bearers as secondary here.
Yeah, otherwise the Ultramarine part is a complete waste and will give us nothing.

This works out nicely, though. We get to use the potent and legendary seed on the Word Bearers only (thus preserving some uses) and with the Ultramarine primary seed giving two planetary traits, we might get a lot of Imperial Truth traits.

All in all the chapter's trait list should be:
2 × Word Bearers traits
4 × Planetary traits

If nothing else, Ultramarine descendant chapters have plenty of potential allied chapters to call on. The Ultramarines being the absolute largest of the Legions thanks to absorbing the remains of the 2nd and 11th Legion as i recall.

So ultra marine base, word bearers secondary, and legendary and potent gene seed for word bearers?

This actually works out a bit for those who are getting tired of traitor chapters too

I'm wondering if we can use legendary Gene-Seed on both primary and secondary Gene-Seed to roll both parts legendary traits
Yes, we can get Legendary traits from both chapters, but we need to use two separate charges, otherwise we need to choose, which geneseed gets the charge.

Two separate charges if you want a chance of a legendary from both.

Also, I'm so sorry guys. If I know about how traits work for The Ultramarines I would give a different plan. I'm sorry for the confusion. To be honest, I'm wondering If we shouldn't risk going with pure Word Bearers now. I too want to go with Chimeric chapter, and as far as I'm concerned, Traitor/Loyalist fusion should count as both, so this way we also preserve the balance, with three Traitor and three Loyalist Chapters but with how Ultramarines work, I don't know, I feel we could use the Word Bearers secundary geneseed better somehow and we should preserve it for a future Chapter.

But as it stand, I will go with Ultramarine and Word Bearer as was the original plan even if it will be a little different. But ultimately if we use both Potent and Legendary on the Word Bearer geneseed charge, the result would be the same.
Ultramarines have no legendary traits? Thats kinda shitty.
But there are planetary Legendary traits and Ultramarines have higher chance of getting that.

[] Very rough plan
-[] Ultramarines (primary)
-[] Word Bearers (secondary)
--[] potent, legendary
-[] adaptive
-[] Imperial Truth planet

An idea of what the plan might look like.

Alright, how are we going to equip and train the Imperial Truth chapter? I imagine that gearing them to be as effective during the Age of Apostasy, i.e., that time the Eclessiarchy played the most fuck-fuck games in its history, might be prudent, if we don't want to have them crusaded all over. Equipping them against mortal armies in general might work in that case, I suppose, but there is the angle of enhancing their ideological capabilities as well...

If I knew that ultramarine did nothing I would go with Word Bearers primary and Imperial Fists secondary
It's not that the UM gene seed does nothing, it's just a lot more adaptable due to being able to more easily gain traits from a planet. Which is actually really great considering that said planet involves following the Imperial Truth. We could also gain a legendary planet trait with them.

There is a reason that the QM mentioned that it was pretty much the best combo with Word Bearers for spreading the Imperial Truth.

If nothing else, Ultramarine descendant chapters have plenty of potential allied chapters to call on. The Ultramarines being the absolute largest of the Legions thanks to absorbing the remains of the 2nd and 11th Legion as i recall.
It may also let us more easily spread the IT to other UM successor chapters due to the UMs keeping close ties to their successor chapters. May even make it more likely to get support from G Man himself.

Think we should still do ultra marines/ word bearers since i think i remember frog saying something about it being the best for spreading the imperial truth,

Perphaps anti-infiltration training? To kick Assassinorum teeth in, when, not if, someone on Terra tries that to stop our Chapter or otherwise tries to sabotage them.

Also perhaps, we should train them to be extremely effective at quickly overhelming the enemy. Extra assault packs, masters of Drop pod. This way they quickly conquer new Human worlds and can take their time, spreading The Imperial Truth.

The wining plan had Extra Trainers and equipment, so if we use those we can pick two equipment and training options instead of just one

Mea Culpa on the disaster there, folks - I had some issues getting the update in, and I didn't notice the problem with the Ultramarines until people noticed it. For what it's worth, this is basically the same as what ye all were planning - you just need to reverse the Ultramarine and Word Bearer Gene Seeds from what you originally meant to.

I wonder what traits the imperial truth planet would actually give? What kind of legendary trait would it have

Looking at it, the only difference between prologue of truth and keepers was that it switched a potent gene-seed charge for extra Dreadnaughts and that one had ultra marine secondary instead of word bearers
