The Long Founding (Warhammer 40k)

Really glad that we got entrenchment to double up on our defense mastery for this chapter. While they are close quarters specced normally close quarter focused combatants have the weakness of not doing as well outside close quarters.

Our guys use their fortification specialty to not only negate that weakness by building fortifications that reduces enemies long range attacks on them or funneling their enemies into close range,

Homeworld: For the most part, the Keepers of Truth's homeworld of Akasha II has been considered to be an 'average' jungle death world, with relatively mediocre threats - poison dart frogs toxic enough they are capable of killing Space Marines, giant snakes, and all manners of horrible jungle beasts. However, even on a world such as this, one predator stands above all others - the Warp Eater.

Warp Eaters: The dominant predator of Akasha II, the Warp Eaters resemble a mass of human limbs surrounding a singular large maw. The smaller 'child' stage Warp Eaters are only a little big larger than a Space Marine, though strong enough to rip one appart. The adult Warp Eaters, on the other hand, are as large as four baneblades stacked on top of one another and are strong enough to casually destroy Imperial Knights if allowed to get into close range. Larval Warp Eaters are the smallest stage and more often than not attack by swarming their targets. Regardless of age, they are inexplicable capable of tracking down Daemons or beings blessed by Warp 'gods', and will savagely tear apart and devour anything that falls under those conditions. However it would be foolish to mistake Warp Eaters for violent berserkers, as they have shown themselves to be fairly stealthy in the lead up to a given attack - more often than not attacking their foes from ambush, or targeting ranged combatants to take them out of the fight before facing off against the rest of a group of 'prey'. In fact these creatures are so stealthy that they were only discovered after the Keepers of Truth Space Marine Chapter chose Akasha II as their homeworld, with no others having managed to discover them and survive in the time since the world was discovered.
Hah I love the requirements for what makes a Death World 'normal' though I guessed compared to the stand outs in a jungle deathworld it really does make sense as is normal except for the Warp eater and damn if it isn't a disgusting one that is so useful for a hunting Pyskers. So lets see what it actually is.

.....oh, THAT's what it looks like and that is horrifying, doubly so considering the 'child' one are as big as a Space Marine and strong enough to rip on apart... oh dear fucking... four Baneblades are you kicking me? Its as large as four on them stacked ontop each other? yah fuck no, I would not want to fight that at all and those do qualify that place as a Death world for that alone. Given those can Destroy Imperial Knights in Melee.... fucking hell no WONDER these things fucked up the Wordbearers and would be hell on the Chaos forces and daemons. The fact the Keepers of Truth somehow managed to TAME some is insane but the Warp Eaters do show they are capable of thought at least and waiting. Also explains just how we didn't know about it since it was only just discovered.

Fortress Monastery: A massive mixture of a traditional Fortress Monastery and an immense library, the Keepers of Truth spend a great deal of time reviewing, cross references, and cataloging the vast stores of knowledge the chapter has gathered over its existence within their home. The monastery is also home to an extensive tunnel network, which Warp Eaters of all sizes use to move from place to place in rapid succession.

Combat and Structure: The Keepers of Truth, aside from unique quirks such as extra skill in defensive warfare, larger numbers of Devastator and Assault Marines with commensurately fewer Tactical Squads, and a skill at preventing enemy infiltration could be considered to be a standard codex compliant Chapter, though they do have some notable differences that make them stand out from the average. The fact that the Keepers of Truth are significantly more resilient to the powers of Chaos, and enemy psyker abilities as a whole, has made them one of the first choices to fight traitor marines should the Exorcists or Grey Knights be unavailable.
Makes sense as they would need a lot of records and knowledge to cross reference and double check along with being a faction all of its own so it couldn't rely on the Ecclesiarchy for booking keeping and making a lot of enemies they need to rely on themselves for it... of course they have a tunnel network for the Warp eaters to move around. it makes sense to account for them and be able to use them for defense.

HAH, more specialization in Assault and Devastators meaning less general Space marines, both pros and cons in situations. though I think the Entrenchment and counterintelligence really do help them do their jobs and leave themselves less open to the traditional ways enemies would try to take advantage of them. Even with those its the same as anything other Codex compliant chapter if it wasn't for the being resilient and weakening the powers of chaos and having the warp eaters, they really are the third best to have if you need to deal with enemy psykers and the Ruinous powers.

Oh and Poison Resistance..... yah you NEED to kill these guys in combat or brutally since you just can't kill them subtle or via other means. have to go low tech or melee.

Imperial Bulwark: A sub-realm of the Imperium, like the Realm of Ultramar, located within Segmentum Tempestus. It is very closely tied together by a shared belief in the Imperial Truth, both among the planetary populations and the Space Marine Chapters within its space. Due to this the state has often found itself at odds with the Ecclesiarchy, which has been all but banned from it's space both by local governments and a decree from the High Lords of Terra.
OH SHIT! I didn't expect THAT to happen with the choices we did, but it really does make sense it would form into a sub-realm considering the Ecclesiarchy would NOT like the Imperial Truth and likely brand them as heretics and try to snuff them out, so any that embrace that would need to group up with the Keepers of Truth to survive. Oh boy that is some bad blood that required the High Lords to get involved and seperate them.

Unique Units

Warp Eaters: Warp Eaters of various size have been used by the Keepers of Truth in a variety of roles, ranging from fast attack, to battling Greater Daemons, to even being sent out to assassinate prominent Chaos Sorcerers.

Marine Heralds: One of the most notable departures of the Keepers of Truth from the Codex Astartes is the fact that their Chaplains are divided into two separate roles. The Heralds are responsible for maintaining the traditions of the Chapter's culture, as well as spreading the word of the Imperial Truth throughout the Emperor's domain. While the Chapter keeps a number of Heralds among their own to maintain their own traditions, a great many more wander the galaxy - especially among the worlds of the Imperial Bulwark - on a Crusade of their own against the forces that would destroy the Emperor's true vision. In combat a Marine Herald is typically armed with a large flaming chainsword in one hand, while the other uses a more typical bolt-pistol.
Huh quite a few ones, so obviously the Warp Eaters are the biggest and most attention grabbing that put this chapter on the map, for fans at least. and considering what we learned about them, it is warranted when it can throw down with an Imperial Knight easily as an Adult.... Oh so when against Daemons it can fucking take down Greater Daemons. Using them to assassinate certain Chaos Sorcerers is a rather neat use and very good use. I wonder how they get them to take down a specific one though. Imagine the rage of Chaos players that make use of Sorcerers as they have them get ganked by the Warp Eaters.

Oh that's interesting, so Chaplains were split into two roles and the Heralds are more the Heart or Keepers of the Culture/way of the Chapter combined with preaching the Imperial Truth. So those are the missionaries to spread the Imperial truth, more unique unit in their mission instead of combat style or equipment.

Marine Scouror: While the Heralds have taken the role of guardian of the Chapter customs ,the Marine Scouror has taken on the role of rooting out heresy wherever it can be found. To do this, the Scouror is aided by a larval Warp Eater, kept in a force cage mounted on top of a Servo-Skull that follows the Marine Scouror at every turn. Even larval Warp Eaters are extremely sensitive to the touch of the 'divine', and will consistently direct the Scouror to any would-be cultists no matter how hidden they might think their connection to their pathetic deity to be. In combat, the Marine Scouror wields a Barbed Power Shield in one hand with a bolt-pistol in the other, as well as a unique wrist mounted flamer built into their armor.

Marine Purgers: Marines utilizing flamers fueled with a unique substance, developed through the combined efforts of the Keepers of Truth Librarians and the Academy of the Imperial Truth. The fires powered by this fuel are especially potent against Chaotic beings (And, oddly enough, the Sisters of Battle) and burn especially violently on Daemons, to the point that while Marine Purgers cannot unleash True Death, the flames have been recorded as leaving permanent scars that persist into the Daemon's next manifestation on the physical plane. The formula used in the Marine Purger's weapons has been considered cursed by the Ecclesiarchy ever since the burning of the Shrine World Moonaaarchia.

Librarian Deniers: The Keepers of Truth Librarians, though not as dominant as in Chapters such as the Blood Ravens, are still treated with great respect - for their powers have been noted to be especially devastating versus, the Arch-enemy and not once has one of the Librarian Deniers ever so much as suffered from a symptom of corruption, with even Nurge's most potent plagues seemingly unable to find purchase.
Meanwhile the Scouror is the Inquisitor/Purifier of the Chapter to roam around hunting for any sign of the Ruinous power and destroy it. Good use of including the Larval Warp Eater to use it as a bird in the canary mine to detect them and oh boy any cultists really do have hell-mode on if they try that in the Imperial Bulwark worlds. Oh cool so Barbed Power Sword, bolt-pistol, and wrist mounted Flamer. that's more in line with being a unique unit.

Purgers... all the flame and the Keepers of Truth managed to make a very potent flame against Chaotic beings to the point of leaving scars that are PERMANENT on the Daemon's body that it carries over to their next manifestation. Holy damn that is a great unit and is REALLY hammering into the Anti-chaos role there there, first warp eaters, being resilient against corruption, and now making a flame fuel that does that. I do find it funny it is potent against the Sisters of Battle since we know its potent against those with Divine power...its just funny to imagine both sides trying to figure out why and coming to different conclusions. OHHHHH damn they burnt a Shrine World down, yah that plus the effect on the Sisters of Battle it would make it viewed as cursed. So Flamer Troopers in essence, just very good and specced for a certain enemy.

Deniers.... holy shit that is powerful, so Anti-Warp Warp powers or Anti-Chaos? Damn, either way very effective and able to use the warp without worrying about corruption, though I would be worried about the other shit in the Sea of Souls that isn't related to the Ruinous powers.

Notable Events of the Keepers of Truth
-The Keepers of Truth begin a resurgence of the Imperial Truth on the planets surrounding their homeworld, quickly quashing the budding Imperial Creed within local space. The region these worlds, and the Keepers of Truth themselves, reside in would become known as the Imperial Bulwark, considering themselves the last vestiges of the Emperor's Truth in an Imperium slowly going mad from fanaticism.
-During the Third Founding, two Space Marine Chapters would be founded on planets adjacent to the Keepers of Truth, and would also adopt the Imperial Truth as their overriding philosophy.
-The Imperial Creed is adopted as the official faith of the Imperium of Man. Seeing the last holdout of the Imperial Truth as a threat to their dominance, the Ecclesiarchy declares war against the Imperial Bulwark. The battles between the two factions are intense, with entire worlds on both sides reduced to nothing but ash - but the Keepers of Truth managed to slow down and bloody the Ecclesiarchy's crusade long enough for the Chapter's contacts in the Ordo Malleus to begin working against the Ecclesiarchy. This does not entirely stop the crusade, but the Ecclesiarchy's increasing madness would eventually lead them to foolishly try and pressure the Adeptus Mechanicus into providing extra aid… Something that angered the Priesthood of Mars deeply enough for them to provide political and material aid to the Imperial Bulwark instead. Faced with Inquisitorial investigations, the Adeptus Mechanicus being on the verge of openly declaring for the Bulwark, and the threat of an impending counterattack from the Bulwark itself, the crusade is called off and the Treaty of Truth is signed, under which the Ecclesiarchy and the Bulwark would leave each other to their own affairs.
Okay makes sense the come down hard on the Imperial Creed when they have belief in the Imperial Truth and see it was the Emperor's truth and what he wanted compared to the twisted version the Creed has become, in their view at least.

Ah so they got two other Space Marine Chapters and close by to the Keepers of Truth to support each other. Makes sense and show the slow roll up in the beginning that was them finding their footing for now.

Ohhh boy leave it to the Ecclesiarchy to pull that shit and the reason as a threat to their own power, and worlds reduced to ash sounds about right for a intense civil war in the Imperium. I do wonder if it was the Space Marine Chapters that made it possible to slow it down, the Keepers of Truth oversaw the Defensive plans and fortification with the counter intelligence training giving the wrong information and giving the false impression of the defense and numbers the Crusade would be facing. So the Chapter's contacts in the Ordo Malleus wasn't enough to stop the civil war but caused the Ecclesiarchy to be wary/suspicious of this and seeing a need for their own way to tip the balance or get support tried to twist the arm of the Adeptus Mechanicus to support/supply them.... they seriously were hyped up on their own righteousness and the fighting against the last holdout to their power they thought they could push again the faction that maintains and produces all equipment.

Not surprised it backfired and Mars threw its support behind the Imperial Bulwark, probably easier to deal with as well compared to the Religious Zealots of the Ecclesiarchy. And yah unless one destroyed the other, this is really the only way to keep the peace by separating each other.

-With the breathing room earned from the Treaty of Truth, the Keepers of Truth would expand the borders of the Imperial Bulwark - both reclaiming Imperial Worlds lost to Xenos as a result of the earlier war with the Ecclesiarchy, and also pushing forward to reconnect with other long lost human worlds. More than a few of these worlds would end up hosting Space Marine Chapters from later Foundings, each of whom would quickly connect with the other Chapters of the Bulwark as a defensive measure against the ever present threat of the Ecclesiarchy's hostility.
-Aa particularly pompous Ecclesiarch would declare a new crusade against the Imperial Bulwark, in violation of the Treaty of Truth. However, this time around things would go very different for the crusaders, as the much greater number of Space Marine Chapters within the Imperial Bulwark as well as the Bulwark's greatly increased size would lead to the crusade being crushed in short order. Of particular humiliation to the Ecclesiarchy was the Crusade of Truth, a counterattack led by the Keepers that would lead to the complete destruction of over a hundred Shrine Worlds and lead to the reigning Ecclesiarch giving up his position in disgrace. Facing intense pressure from the other High Lords of Terra, the new Ecclesiarch would finally call off the crusade.
Ah so paired with Stubborn and Zealous and their focus they really took advantage of the time given to recover and expand, convincing more Space Marine Chapters to make homeworlds in or around the Imperial Bulwark but also taking advantage of long lost human worlds coming back to the fold and getting there before the Ecclesiarchy so the worlds stick with them instead and expand the imperial Bulwark.

Yahhhh, if it was spread out and too far away from the rest of the Imperial Bulwark they would get killed off by the Ecclesiarchy, so all worlds that to embrace the Imperial Truth would need to be around the Imperial bulwark, a part of it, or have a route to it that support can be sent quickly. Also they really went to work expanding the Realm and now is entrenched so not a surprised it would be repelled.... oh boy that counter crusade and the burning of over a hundred shrine worlds? holy shit man that is some intense payback and just another layer to the Imperium being dysfunctional and infighting taken to another level.

-While the Keepers of Truth would remain uninvolved in the volatile politics of the Age of Apostasy, the Imperial Bulwark itself would find itself heavily expanding, as many worlds push to join it rather than risk facing the potential cataclysm of a visit from Vandire. Vandire himself, in a rare move of knowing when to pick his battles, took great pains not to provoke either the Keepers of Truth or the rest of the Imperial Bulwark during his disastrous reign.
-Several warbands of the Word Bearers would launch an 'Apostate Crusade' against their 'Wayward brothers'. After fierce fighting the Chaos Space Marine led 'Crusade' would end up utterly destroyed, with only a single ship from the Word Bearers managing to escape. The most notable casualty of the Apostate Crusade on either side of the conflict would be a Word Bearers daemon prince of Slaanesh, who had permanent burns inflicted upon him by the concentrated assault of several Keepers of Truth Marine Purgers.
Pffft, yah I didn't think about it but it would be interesting effect of being a world that during the Age of Apostasy being so volatile to trade faith for security and just join up with the Imperial Bulwark, Vandire single handily driving worlds into the Keepers of Truth's arms. Damn they really did grow to the size of Ultramar considering all of this build up and getting some chapters from other foundings to settle around it.

HAH, I bet the Wordbearers found out they were from the Geneseed of Logar and thought that it would by typical faith in the Emperor they can sway or corrupt only to find out they hold to the Imperial Truth and paired with the Denial of the Divine and the Warp Eaters were completely caught off guard by it and got their shit rock by all these anti-divine/anti-chaos shit. Hell even the Daemon Prince still having the permanent burns on them. Certainly impossible to forget that.

-An unknown incident would lead to a Black Templars Crusade Fleet invading Akasha II itself. Unable to break through the extensive orbital defenses, the Crusade Fleet would end up launching Marines down onto the planet themselves - only to end up beaten in a battle so bloody that it would have brought back horrifying memories of the Iron Cage incident, if any such survivors of that legendary event been present to witness the battle. During the the fighting, the Keepers of Truth would seize or even outright destroy several Black Templar relics, at least one of which was known to have dated back to the founding of the Black Templars Chapter itself. Further conflict was only prevented by the arrival of several other Imperial Bulwark chapters and, to the confusion of all involved, the Minotaurs of all Marines, to demand the Templars stand down.
-Incensed by an unknown slight on the part of the Keepers of Truth, an entire order of Sisters of Battle would go rogue and attack Akasha II. They would fare far worse than the Black Templars had before them, and the Keepers of Truth would burn the Shrine World the Order had been based on to the bedrock as retaliation.
Huh, they managed to stall and then pick off the Black Templars, not sure how many were there at Akasha II but impressive showing by the Keepers and their allies to beat them so bad that it triggers memories of the Iron Cage. OUCH, the destruction of several relic of the Black Templars shows how bad it was and how much the Black Templars loathe them.... which brings up the question just why they did this crusade anyway?

Huh, never thought I'd see the Minotaurs helping deescalate something, I'm guessing Orders from the High Lords of this happening again. Must have been a plot or something grievous if the Black Templars tried to strike the Homeworld of the Keepers.

- A Second Apostate Crusade would be launched by the Word Bearers, and was once again defeated by the Keepers of Truth. Oddly enough, Inquisitorial investigations into the event would reveal the intention of this crusade not as conquest, but instead some kind of attempt to discover the 'patron' of the Keepers of Truth. The Keepers of Truth themselves would of course dismiss these motives as the ravings of madmen, and paid no further thought to the matter.
-Another Sisters of Battle Order would end up at war with the Keepers of Truth. The exact causes and conditions of this fight have been censored by the Inquisition, but ever since the Order itself would take up a practice of inflicting ritualistic burn scars on themselves, and would boast a higher than average number of Sisters Repentia.
Pffffttt, HAHAHAHA oh my god that is perfect. The Word Bearers, legit, cannot comprehend this is done all on there own and the Keepers of Truth do not believe in gods or aren't using another Deity or Patron to pull of the shit they are. That they is no way the Keepers deny the powers of Chaos and the Emperor and it must be from another diety not yet known.... I honestly don't know if this was done for the intention of recon, Sabotage and corruption, or a genuine attempt of some Word Bearers to jump ship to the bigger 'deity'.

Holy shit the Ecclesiarchy is really trying to kill them off or someone is constantly setting up some orders and Chapters to get themselves killed or something. So once again So a entire order of the Sisters of Battle would go to war with the Keepers and the reason being Censored, either something embarrassing or they were in fact duped. Yahhhhh either it was something with their founding and view of things or this is penance for being tricked.

Diplomatic Relations
-Ecclesiarchy-The Keepers of Truth despise the Ecclesiarchy and everything it stands for, and the feeling is reciprocated to such an extent that the Treaty of Truth and the threat of intervention from the Custodes themselves is the only thing keeping the two factions from trying to annihilate each other.
-Black Templars-If anything, the Keepers of Truth seem to hate the Black Templars even more than they hate the Ecclesiarchy. The feeling, much like with the Ecclesiarchy, is mutual, yet somehow manages to be lesser on the Black Templar's part than it is on that of the Keepers of Truth.
-Fabius Bile: The Keepers of Truth despise Bile, and want him dead at all costs. Nevertheless, the Fallen Marine has been known to frequent Imperial Bulwark territory for unknown reasons, and his disdain for the Chaos Gods and their servants seems to have actually given him limited protection from detection by Warp Eaters.
Well the first two aren't mysteries as to why, though I certainly didn't expect the need of the threat of the Custodes and the treaty to keep the Ecclesiarchy and Keepers from killing each other. Man we really added to the Imperium and 40k in a very 40k way, introducing a solution but many more complications and several causes of infighting.

Black Templars I can see being the cause they roam around and probably killed preachers and other things of the Chapter outside the Imperial Bulwark or did something that caused them to attack Ashaka II.

Huh, well alright strange but it does make sense that if you want to get away to a place Chaos won't/can't bother you it would be the Imperial Bulwark and because of how he is, it makes the ways the Keepers track down cultists and the like not as good. That's a funny thing for fans to take note of and I can see a few memes made from this.

-Ordo Sanctorum: The Inquisitors dedicated to the policing the Ecclesiarchy naturally find the Imperial Bulwark as a whole, and the areas directly protected by the Keeper of Truth in particular, to be the ideal place to meet and discuss progress on their investigations. A common topic is bitterness towards the Ordo Hereticus for having lost its purpose, and even becoming reliant on the Ecclesiarchy itself for its muscle.
-Adeptus Mechanicus: Surprisingly, despite their violent secularism, the Keepers of Truth keep very friendly relations with the Adeptus Mechanicus. Most likely, this is because of a combination of a shared focus on logic and the fact that the Imperial Truth has had provisions for the existence of the Mechanicus since before the Ecclesiarchy was even a concept in the minds of its first adherents.
Pfffft of course the Inquisition made an Ordo for this and that the Imperial Bulwark a good place to meet up and discuss progress. Pffft that's funny with the Ordo Hereticus needing muscles from the Ecclesiarchy considering how good the Scourors are at sniffing out cultists.

I mean the good relations with the Adeptus isn't surprising as they would be the most logical of the ones SpaceMarines/Imperium they have to deal with and the only ones remembering the Provisions the Emperor made for them and aren't trying to infringe on them.

The Imperial Academy: The Imperial Academy is the organized body of the Imperial Truth within the Imperial Bulwark, and to a lesser extent the entire Imperium - though it's influence is naturally very limited outside of the Imperial Bulwark itself. Still, it has actually been proposed that one of the 'Board', those that make up the most respected within the Imperial Academy, be promoted to a position among the High Lords of Terra themselves from time to time. This is, admittedly, usually an attempt at provoking or checking the Ecclesiarchy more than anything else. Like most academic institutions, there are actually several lines of thought within the Imperial Academy, among which the below comprise only a handful.
-Gearists: The Gearists are in truth members of the Adeptus Mechanicus, who have taken parts of the Imperial Academy's beliefs and included it into their own faith. They are seen as strange, but ultimately harmless or even beneficial by the rest of the Academy.
-Parasitists: While the common belief within the modern Imperial Truth is that the four Chaos Gods are, at best, nothing more than Parasites, there are some whom believe that the Ecclesiarchy is in the process of creating a fifth such 'Parasite' with its mindless faith, and thus believe that the Ecclesiarchy must be destroyed before it is too late, lest humanity share the Eldar's fate.
Okay, WOW they actually made a Academy here to teaching the Imperial Truth and center of the organized body of it, ironically similar to how the Ecclesiarchy is for the Imperial Creed. HAHAHA promoting one of the board as a High Lord being floated around just to provoke or remind the Ecclesiarchy is funny and would have memes made.

Oh wow you acutally made lines of though for the Imperial Truth that would have resulted from this as well, good on you QM. Huh so Gearists are Techpriests that taken parts of the Imperial truth and meshed it with their own faith, at this there's some connection with the mechanius and they are involved.

HAH, Parasitists are great and think a lot of Anti-chaos fans would be fully behind it. It is an interesting thought and similar to how the Emperor was with trying to do no religion and thus prevent that stuff.

Mortalists: The ultimate theory of the Mortalists is simple - that strengthening the Emperor, in any way, will eventually lead to the ultimate destruction of Chaos. They are not friendly to the Ecclesiarchy, but are more tolerant of it than others. Their name comes from the common belief that, because the Chaos 'Gods' feared the Emperor, who considered himself nothing more than a mortal man, they in turn lost any claim to the title of 'god' - and that the worshipers of Chaos are all the more pathetic for calling them as such.
-Necessarians: A belief kept only in secret but common among Xeno Hybridis Inquisitors, the Necessarians believe that the xenophobia of the old Imperial Truth was ultimately merely a tool to unite the masses under one nation, and that the Emperor would have discarded it once his Crusade was complete. Naturally, this means the Necessarians do not feel nearly the same desire to destroy Xenos that many other Imperial factions do.
-Humanitas: The Humanitas are a faction that believe the Imperium of Man as it stands is at a very high risk of crushing the very humanity out of humanity itself. Thus, to the Humanitas it is a matter of survival to try and reform the Imperium as soon as possible in order to improve the state of the average human… lest they be turned into something inhuman, with neither the wicked Xenos or the forces of Chaos needing to lift a finger.
-Follis: A faction whose primary belief is that the Ecclesiarchy is, bluntly, stupid. It includes many Inquisitors of the Seculos Attendous philosophy
Huh So the Mortalists are tolerant of the Ecclesiarchy mainly because they need to strengthen the Emperor since that will lead to the destruction of Chaos so fair enough with that as they see the Faith as a means to an end. They would be working with Inquisitors to bring the Emperor to full strength. nice reasoning for the Mortalists name there as well.

Necessarians are an interesting bunch as It makes sense sense for an Inquisitors that believe in the Imperial Truth to see it that way instead of a divine directive or the like, seeing it as a means to an end. I'm sure some fans would like to see that.

Humanitas... oh boy you're only figuring that out now? Well better late then ever and is tackling the root of some of many issues with keeping the human element of humanity and remembering that stuff, so improving the state of the average human so they don't fall to corruption or want to rebel and join up with Xenos or lose the spark of humanity in them. I like this faction.

And finally the Follis who just think the Ecclesiarchy is stupid. I love how its just that simple and I love how all these schools of thoughts really adds more to how the Imperium would be with a Sub-realm that follows the Imperial Truth would be and the lines of thoughts would be that allows some different opinions there. I honestly would love this being canon.

Politics: This chapter has grown adept at manipulating the surrounding political landscape. A sad necessity, in the increasingly politically driven Imperium.
Wow, that's a THING we can train the Space marines in? I would say that seems unnecessary but considering how the Imperium is... I think it makes sense considering a chapter that goes against the grain this much needs this to be able to survive and navigate the Imperium.

I personally want to make a Cadian chapter, like they put over 12 chapters around Cadia but not one ON the doorstep to hell? Came on, maybe is because its not codex compliant to integrate a chapter to a.planets PDF but we have the power to make that exception. But maybe its too early i think that it should be done after at least theb1st dark crusade.

Also for the anti Nid chapter inthink Dark Angels would be the best option. The whole fallen/paranoia thing would be good fornthe genestealers and Caliban was basically Monster Hunter central. Maybe add some Iron Warriors for that attrition /fortification combat when the bugs stsrt swarming

Honestly i still the void privateers would be a good next chapter, fast pirate hunters eill be useful in all kinds of ways and maybe theyll get us another trainable space warfare trait.

Maybe for the next chapter we can take this option:

[ ] Secure and Capture: Another request from the so-called 'Inquisition'. It appears they want a Chapter specialized in tracking down and capturing select targets... 'alive'... you would rather not try and comprehend the reasoning. You truly do wonder what Malcador was thinking some days. An update on this request has revealed that the primary target is actually other Inquisitors of all things. You still don't comprehend Malcador's logic.

This is a bit of an unorthodox request as most of the time space marines are meant to kill targets not bring them in alive however there are three gene lines we could use to make it work.

Dark Angels: They already are masters of interrogation and also have the problem with the fallen.
Night Lords: While they will be alive i don't think those captured by the Sons of Curze would be sane afterword's, but it is worth a shot.
Alpha Legion: This is part of their shtick so capturing targets alive shouldn't be an issue for them.

Another option we could take is:

[ ] Rebellion Crushing: An odd number of rebellions have been spreading throughout the Imperium. Many among the Imperium's upper crust have backed a request for a Chapter dedicated to crushing these revolts, preferably before they escalate to a point where they are forced to commit ludicrous amounts of Guardsmen to take back a single willful planet instead of fighting actual threats.
Goal: Create a Chapter specialised in combating planetary rebellions.

This would be right up the Night Lords ally

I have a very, very cursed idea. We make a chimera geneseed from Vulcan's and Russ's geneseeds, make the marines specialize in tech, and go hard in their mutations. You know how Russ have the wulfen and decendatant chapters of vulcan have more mutations?

This theoretical marine chapter, should be made during the 26th cursed founded, and they should be dubbed the UwU or Furry marines. For very obvious reasons.
Mutations = furry
Mechanicus skills = programming socks

Am i very tired i sleep. Curses for all!

I think better is to take at least one antichaos request.
upd. Night Lords with prophetic vision against Changer

Once again, we don't have access to Space Wolves gene-seed because of apothecary who could get it done was killed by Magnus and his sons, but we can prevent that by creating Chapter in Fenris sector on Scottish world!

ngl feels like the Dark Peregrines again. The real tpose is making a chapter that will also look at the nobility who are the reason for rebellion and apply boot to face.

13 Times the Tau Messed Up
-Early encounters with the Tau end supremely badly for the young alien species whenever the Eternal Guard get involved, as the latter's shockingly skilled tactics to board Tau ships, and the commensurate utter slaughter of the occupants, lead to 13 of the most bloody battles in the Tau Empire's history - only the last of which had any survivors, the Tau only discovering the results of the first twelves via examining footage from the shattered remains of their fleets. So terrible were these losses, that the Ethereals designated the Chapter with a Flee on Sight order for any ships not acting in defensive capacity. In fact, even in the present time, Imperial Intelligence has learned that the Tau's own intelligence services place keeping track of all Eternal Guard fleet movements as one of their highest priorities, a discovery corroborated both by the Synopticon and the Ordo Xenos.
AN: Lol, lmao even.

Also, I know that I could've padded out the interval meetings between the Eternal Guard and the Tau, but I find it funny if the Eternal Guard was unintentionally being eternal pests to the Tau during the Third Sphere of Expansion.

The Dangers of the Sons of Dorn:
Or, that time the Tau messed up 13 times and paid the price.

The Third Sphere of Expansion was a pivotal moment for the Tau Empire, whom, for their part, utilized the experiences they've gained during the Great War of Confederation in which they've fought and pushed back against several Ork Waaagh!'s and Hive Fleet Gorgon, both of which has pushed the nascent Tau Empire to fight for its survival, that made the bulk of the Tau's most elite fighting units, with the most prevalent being comprised of the Fire Warriors and Kroots, with the goal of establishing numerous Septs beyond the Damocles Gulf and into Imperial space.

It was also this time that the nascent Tau Empire would studioulsy prepare the tactics of the Imperium of Man and of the Space Marines, the Emperor's Angels of Death. Whilst Commander Shadowsun initially did well against the unsuspecting Imperial Guard and Space Marines, the Imperium finally managed to rally itself and push back against the Tau Empire's advances and stop the Third Sphere of Expansion on its path.

Though, that's not what's important to the Tau. What's important to the Tau was their first encounter with the Eternal Guard, successor chapter of the Imperial Fists, and their wholesale destruction they've managed to cause to the Tau Fleet for they not only showed the glaring weakness of the Tau when it comes to ship warfare, it also answered the question of how the Tau was losing much of their fleet during the Third Sphere of Expansion and it was only in the aftermath of the Third Sphere did they learned of the Eternal Guard.

Whatever the case, this is the story of the 13 battles that the Tau had with the Eternal Guard and how they were given a 'Flee on Sight' designation by the Ethereals:
  • Massacre of Lexington (997.M41) - This was the first time the Eternal Guard encountered the nascent Tau and their fleets. Taking the Tau off-guard, the Eternal Guard victoriously slaughtered the Tau supply fleet upon the skies of Lexington.
  • Destruction of Ay'oya (997.M41) - Encountering the fleet of Admiral Ay'oya, this was the first time the Eternal Guard properly fought against the Tau and its warriors, mainly the Fire Caste.
  • Slaughter of Dominica (997.M41) - The 4th Company of the Eternal Guard was tasked with removing an Ork Waaagh! within the planet of Dominica. The Tau Fleet that they surprisingly met was removed from the skies of Dominica before the 4th Company of the Eternal Guard returned to their original objective.
  • Death of Koa'ng's Fleet (997.M41) - A coincidental meeting between the 3rd and 4th Company of the Eternal Guard, who was resupplying and recruiting neophytes at the death world of Lucia, and the fleet of Shas'Ui Velk'han Koa'ng, an Admiral who was vital to the resupply efforts of the Tau during the initial stages of the Expansion. The Tau fleet was subsequently removed but not before dealing damage to the Titan's Liberator, the primary Strike Cruiser of the 4th Company.
  • Extermination of Lucia (997.M41) - A prominent Tau war fleet that was headed to the planet of Lucia, the planet managed to avoid destruction when the Eternal Guard engaged the war fleet above the planet's skyline. This was also the first time that Commander Shadowsun heard reports of the Tau losing their fleets without any indicator as to who's destroying Tau ships.
  • Decimation of Y'eldiawa (998.M41) - Another coincidental meeting, this time with the Chapter Master of the Eternal Guard bearing personal witness, towards the fleet of Y'eldiawa, a prominent Admiral within the Tau Empire. They were utterly and ruthlessly eliminated by the Eternal Guard.
  • Liquidation of Chordiphor Reach (998.M41) - A splinter fleet of Hive Fleet Gorgon that managed to escape during the Great War of Confederacy, the Eternal Guard waited for the Tau to tire themselves before ridding the victorious Tau of their victory against the splinter fleet of Hive Fleet Gorgon.
  • Bloodshed at Gudras's Fall (998.M41) - Emulating the same strategy they did at Chordiphor Reach, the Eternal Guard waited for the Tau to tire themselves before launching themselves at their fleet, catching the off guard and exterminating the remnant at the planet of Gudras's Fall.
  • The Carnage at Ukos Eldi (998.M41) - Taking advantage of the month-long warfare between the World Eaters and Eternal Guard, the Tau launched themselves at Ukos Eldi, hoping to seek a victory against the two Space Marines. Unfortunately, their tactics were well studied by the Eternal Guard and somehow, managed to bring victory against the World Eaters and the Tau fleet at the same time.
  • Slaying of Purgalrius Diablo (998.M41) - Despite being on a tentative 'alliance' with the Dark Eldar, the Tau fleet near Purgalrius Diablo were removed from the equation.
  • Rout of Menopaal VI (999.M41) - This was the first time the Tau managed to defeat the Eternal Guard but not for reason one might think. Already weakened by the combined efforts of a Death Guard warband and Slanneshi cult worshipers, the 6th Company was forced to remove themselves from the battlefield but not before killing the Tau fleet that find themselves within the planet.
  • Assault of Kanyra (999.M41) - The Tau forces managed to hold out spectacularly, causing immesurable damage to the 10th Company of the Eternal Guard, but not before eliminating the Tau and their fleet in return.
  • Battle of Assaye (999.M41) - A prominent paradise world within the Damocles Gulf, Assaye was the first proper battle between the Eternal Guard and the Tau forces as the Tau managed to cause damage to the 8th Company before the Eternal Guard retaliated, with the Eternal Guard unable to defeat the fleeing Tau fleet and thus, causing the Empire to finally learn of the Eternal Guard and initiate a 'Flee on Sight' directive on the rest of the chapter.

So why do people dislike the tau so much, besides them having author favoritism?
"Not enough Grimdark", some people also made up a story, where Tau were made to replace original Squats-spoiler, this is a lie-and just memes that saturated the fandom and many new fans repeat without even knowing from where they came from. And of course, the actual reason people disliked the Tau when they were introduced as a new faction-they were unbalanced and Tau players had many ways to cheese to win combat on tabletop.

Also, personally, I don't see Tau to be "author favorites" de facto, I know stories where Tau were practically bullied by the author. They really aren't the favorites, nor do they have any more plot armour than any other faction.
They are very naive and arrogant in the Lore, and a lot of people find it satisfying to watch them realize just how insignificant they are in the grand scheme of things
Also, I can't stress this enough. No. Tau aren't naive nor arrogant any more than any other faction. As I written before, Tau are perfectly aware they dwarfed by Imperium and there were discussion between Tau if it is worth it to touch Imperium worlds in the first place. They ignorant about many things, but so is Imperium. For example, many people in the Imperium don't even know that there are multiple different Eldar cultures and think that Dark Eldars and Craftworlders are the same thing.
