Might look like the shadowhawk from Battletech:

Don't really expect mine to win, but I just wanted to put it up for future consideration, when we'll need a regular army model to mass produce. Perhaps even for export. Also one might even be usable for civilian roles.

Oh crap should we be voting for a Chassis already?😅
Would a tiger shaped Tiger with 6 legs be able to hold more because it's longer so it has more platform for stuff? And would it's height be measured at the shoulder or the head if it stood on it's hindlegs?

[X] Chassis: Tiger-Pult Long Range Mecha
-[X] Sextupedal
-[X] Anti-Ship
-[X] Anti-Air

-[X] Height Of 4.5 Meters
-[X] 🐅 Shaped. Entire design worked with biomimetics of Tigers with perhaps a few choice bits from other felines. Erika Fat-Kai called in and was made to sign dozens of NDAs for her silence to get her help insured the chassis was optimized perfectly and the gait at will work almost like a natural born Tiger even with a 3rd pair of legs. The 3rd pair of legs was added to the middle to help support extra weight for a heavier ordinance. A tail was added for style as a counter weight so the chassis can run faster with tighter turns. A head was added on as well. Erika took creative control and lead the development of the head to be an entire sensor suite for the rest of the body\weapons\pilots. She intends for it to be entirely articulated with a powerful jaw. With this and the retractable claws, this may not be the sleekest Mecha. Nor really designed for melee. But it is still a huge mech with tons of weight behind it. You pity the fool that dares to gets too close!

You can vote for the chassis if you wish, you can also continue to discuss your options, wants, needs, and wishes. It's your choice here, not mine! :V

And I added some more information to the threadmark to show what each different locomotion option would give in terms of how hard it is to pilot, stability of the mecha, how much it costs to produce one of them, and how hard it is to design for them.

And all locomotion options have the same weight, but you can add a fluff write-in to note that your proposal is actually shorter, but has the 3 tons of machinery used in more leg.

And the height is on the highest point of the Iron Tiger during its normal operations (Shoulder), not when it dances, of course. :V

[X] Plan: Modular Man (Mass Production Model)
I'd vote for it, if it was smaller, actually. Like, half the size, max.
In fact, Ima do that:

[X] Plan: Modular Man (Mass Production Model (small))
-[X] Chassis Locomotion

--[X] Humanoid
-[X] Chassis Specialization
--[X] Modular

-[X] Height
--[X] Height of 5 Meters

I feel like the equipment will change a lot more than weapons. We'll be using conventional ballistic weapons for decades yet, but hardware and electronics get a lot fancier from the 70s onward.

With that in mind, we may as well find ourselves a nice weapon now that would last us for quite a while. Something that will likely be upgraded without changing too much from the original.

tbh the idea with making it the max size is to have more freedom with the equipment and weaponry.

besides, 10 meters is actually pretty average if we compare to zoids, and small compared to gundams. in the battletech universe it's also pretty average.

5 meters is like the height of a futuristic battlesuit. more ideal for urban assault or infantry support. although tbf it's gonna be a lot more agile and difficult to take down, while limiting firepower. good for close combat tho. But not ideal for anti-ship, unless we use missiles/rockets.

i kinda wanna give it an overpowered anti tank "rifle" though. that'd be awesome

AMP suits from Avatar. Around 4 meters in height and quite effective on Pandora's jungle terrain.

I just think that a) smaller size means cheaper; and b) modularity means we can use the thing in different tasks and I think we're going to have more uses for a smaller unit, atm, than a bigger one - be it in civilian uses or in Vietnam or wherever.

A quick search tells me that Anti Tank Rifles go for less than a ton a piece, Anti Tank Guns we can get for ~3 Tons. A size of 5 m gives us 20 Tons we can use for equipment...

If we really want to put a big gun on a mech, I think we should go with a more stable chassis, but I feel that's not what we need right now.

when i said anti tank gun, I meant one to scale to a mech. the thing could easily exceed a standard 120mm smoothbore tank gun in firepower, likely in range as well

The problem there is, I think, that we'd have to come up with such a kind of weapon as well - which, yeah, we might as well do at some point. But right now, for me, it makes more sense to work with things that already exist.

You'll be retro-actively designing weaponry and equipment for your desing in round 2 and 3 respectively once you have the chassis voted upon.

Huh… was kinda expecting the quad design to win… i should mention that there won't be civilian models for quite a while probably. Now might not be a good time to reveal the project, even just to our citizens.

Personally I think the 10 meter size to be to big with our current Armor. since it would need to be better at tanking hits then smaller sizes, And Right now Im pretty sure Direct hit by a tank will shred our current armor, So I would want to Go with the smaller size so its less likely to be hit, And Give it more mobility by allowing it to fit into more spaces.

[X] Chassis: Tiger-Pult Long Range Mecha

Because I find the Iron Tigers looking like tigers to be funny.

That's a "later" thing.
The first civilian model I want is for mining and it's this basically:
turtlepedia.fandom.com

Transport Module

Transport Module or Mutant Module is a vehicle operated by the Foot Clan which tunnels underground for expedited relocation.
And Give it more mobility by allowing it to fit into more spaces.
A Tiger 🐅 design would have plenty of mobility.
