Operation Sunken Dreams was one of the many attempts of the CIA on Wei Jungmin's life and one of the many that failed to do more than mildly annoy the man and his security personnel. Thanks to assets smuggled into the country with the refugee waves crashing upon the country's shores, a small network of assassins was established, dedicated to killing Wei Jungmin or other targets of opportunity, as long as they did not risk discovery while doing so. Their first attempt, Operation Sunken Dreams, was thwarted by the teams lacking grammatical expertise. Having gotten hold of a planner showing that the Wei family would take several trips to the sea to swim, dive, sail, and otherwise enjoy the beaches of the island, the assassins bought commonly available poisonous sea urchins used for cooking a traditional dish, painting the confused critters with unusual water-resistant colors before releasing them in the general area of where the Wei family would take their vacation. Jungmin and several of his children would find these sea urchins and interact with them, mostly to try and figure out their species before realizing that they had been painted, and then leave unharmed once the vacation was over. The only result of this attempted assassination was a minor revision to the nation's anti-animal cruelty law, as the sea urchins were only poisonous to humans if improperly prepared while cooking.

The second attempt at Jungmin's life happened in an impromptu spur-of-the-moment decision when one of the group members recognized Wei Mai in a newly constructed arcade, reasoning that her husband must be with her in the building or nearby; the man attempted to stalk her to get to Wei Jungmin. Unfortunately, said husband had just exited the restrooms and seen a man staring at his wife while moving to always have her in sight. Believing him to be an ordinary creep, he signaled to his disguised bodyguards to discreetly escort him away from the pair before continuing on with enjoying his day trying out the electronic games on offer, smugly hearing his wife complain in good cheer that he did look better in a dress than she.

Fueled by wildly exaggerated news about the continent seeing mass revolutions of communists flowing the Red Cross of Christ, the Red Banner or Star flying just as high, tens of thousands of men and women take up arms and cause, governments declaring emergencies one after the other as the military of each either begins to sally out to turn the people into the enslaved masses they once were once more or rip itself apart as units defect, priests and nuns preaching to gatherings of the willing about the righteousness of their cause and the inevitableness of their success, for they fight in the name of the Son, the Father, and the Holy Spirit, even as they wonder if the South American Communist Committee that controls the risings everywhere is real, or merely fiction, praying that they will soon be able to coordinate with their allies everywhere to free the people from repression.
And not only there, but in Oman, the United Arab Empire, Yemen Arab Republic, Guatemala, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and even the Republic of Ireland have their interiors explode in street fighting and demonstrations of the brave or suicidal with those seeking a better life under a different banner, their fight and causes indeed those worthy of victory and aid?
And while Molotovs fly on Irish streets, Niger and Chad find themselves embroiled in ever-increasing unrest between those fighting for the communist cause and those seeking to destroy it and preserve their way of life and station by any means possible, all the while their governments aim to ensure stability and non-interference from CyPac to the North and allies of the US to the South.
But what all know, what those with the right information are cruelly aware of, is that the world hangs on a knife's edge. If one push were to occur to either side, the other would not be able to regain this position again for years, if not decades, to come.
History was about to be written, and it stood to question what color it would give primacy.

I didn't know about Liberation Theology before reading this update.
In hindsight, it makes complete sense for Christianity and Communism to go hand in hand. A carpenter fighting large institutions that he sees as greedy and hypocritical while advocating for the welfare of the poor and marginalized sounds pretty communist. I hope to see Communist Jesus succeed over Supply Side Jesus.
