Well if we transition into a democracy there is much less reason to do so since we have a way to replace the leader without a succession crisis.O: But seriously, I don't want the CIA to keep trying to off us; they might get lucky eventually. We've got to do something about that.
i was thinking that too, maybe when we catch an enemy trying to kill us we can offer him a lighter punishement if he accept to play his own role in the episode that will be inspired by his atempt ?You could probably make a Tom and Jerry knock-off based on Guangchou's No. 1 Power Couple and the spies trying to kill them.![]()
O: So, two-pronged? Get started on democratization, and also send the USA a Tito Letter?Well if we transition into a democracy there is much less reason to do so since we have a way to replace the leader without a succession crisis.
Map reminded me of the bonkers fact the french Guiana is still french territory irl, and thus part of the EU.
*Five. You go in 6-Month intervals per Turn.
#3 - Dolls and Figurines
Nothing beats picking up a T-Rex and acting like it eats another doll or a giant tiger smashes a city. Fun for everyone.
I didn't know about Liberation Theology before reading this update.
In hindsight, it makes complete sense for Christianity and Communism to go hand in hand. A carpenter fighting large institutions that he sees as greedy and hypocritical while advocating for the welfare of the poor and marginalized sounds pretty communist. I hope to see Communist Jesus succeed over Supply Side Jesus.
Yep. General elections within three months, with Wei Mai holding down the fort for the duration until a new Great Leader is elected. You chose People as the basis of your political power, so you don't need to fear the military getting ideas or entrenched party politicians squabbling over the throne. If someone were to succeed in killing our boi, is there a succession plan in place?
They are moving. Not in a bad direction. Not in a good direction. But they are moving. So...better than OTL.SirKaid said:Is that still trudging along, or has our sheer WTFery given them a shot in the arm?
Some have, others have not, there is still a lot of confusion and it is quite the disorganized mess all told.SirKaid said:Have any of the communist guerrillas sent us messages asking to join CyPac once they overthrow the bourgeois and liberate the people and etc etc etc?
The Autonomous Australian Anarchic Workers Communes (Revised Working Title) are not a joke I make lightly.SirKaid said:Also, not exactly related to the above, but are there seriously actual armed communist rebels in Australia?
Nope, you did not. You are unaware that they even did any attempts at all.have we catched any of those agent who try to mess with us ?,what did we did with them ?
i think it would be funnier if we presented it solely as a fiction comedy bit, and any resemblance to actual assassination plots being unknowing, coincidental, and highly worrying to the americans.i was thinking that too, maybe when we catch an enemy trying to kill us we can offer him a lighter punishement if he accept to play his own role in the episode that will be inspired by his atempt ?
"spite and schadenfreud: a series based on the various attempts to kill, hurt, spy on, intimidate and generally harm Wei Jungmin's, his family, and Guangchouen in general, very strongly inspired by various real attempts (although modifying the details enough for anyone trying to get information and idea on how to harm guangchou, jugmin or other from this series get a very very unpleasant surprise) and a lot of invented one too(wich are real and wich are fictive will be precised at the begining of the episod), the tone is mainly humorous, humiliating the agents and making fun of their mistake, although there are some very serious and dark moments when the situation requires it (killed an innocent person to disguise himself as him, targeted the president's children, tortured a security agent for information on the president, etc.) and sometimes epic when the guards save the situation in a courageous manner, sometimes if agent is caught and has not committed a truly heinous act or discovered crucial information he will be offered a lesser punishement and a strong endorsement for his acting skills in exchange for playing his own role in the series ."
what do you think ?probablt need some improvement but it sound fun
France always saw its colonies as direct extensions of itself, unlike say the UK which saw colonies as useful but ultimately separate. Its part of why they fought so hard in Algeria and still to this day keep putting their hands into their previous colonial subjects nations ways. Our world system is based around keeping the drawn borders of countries as stable as possible, so I doubt France will lose Guiana or their other remaining non-European land.Map reminded me of the bonkers fact the french Guiana is still french territory irl, and thus part of the EU.
Yeah, I had casually heard that was the case. TBH I'm not sure how much of a movement their is for a independent Guiana.Sometimes a territory is so small and undeveloped that it juat doesnt make sense to seek independence nor grant it
Guyana is really useful as a place to launch rockets from, besides that its population, geography and industry make it a mostly rural area
Metropolitan france granting them independence would basically cutting them off from supply lines
In 2010 there were independence referendums, with 48% turn over (aka 48% of the pop went to vote)
Wich showed 70% didnt want independence
Guyanese people do still have issues and seek higher invesment on infrastructure and services by metropolitan france
How could decolonization not be a absolute shit show, there is to much stuff to balance especially with 40s understandings of African race ethnicity and geography being what they know about, modern stuff wouldn't help really.France always saw its colonies as direct extensions of itself, unlike say the UK which saw colonies as useful but ultimately separate. Makes me wonder, If a person could go back in time to 1946, and were given the job to de-colonize the continent of Africa, and you had the full support of the colonizers and UN, how best to go about it.
The answers to all these questions is, in order; yes, yes, and yes.Qm,Will the language reform make it easier for other country to train ambassadors and spies to send to Guangchou? Do we have foreign embassies/ambassadors in Guangchou or embassies/embassadors of our own abroad?
If we are using that cartel tactic why not go full Norco and make smuggler submarines as well for the stuff that can't be as easily hidden as regular South American weapons smuggling?I assume language optimization also included like, braille and sign language?
[] Plan: Railed In A Sundress
-[] Infrastructure
--[] Durable Goods Libraries (-2 Reputation) (+1 People's Opinion) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
Durable goods libraries will help us get more bang for our buck with our consumer goods rollout.
-[] Light Industry
--[] Democratically Selected Consumer Goods Factory Complex (+2 Reputation) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
--[] Democratically Selected Consumer Goods Factory Complex (+2 Reputation) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
Even more consumer goods. Roll the dice HC and let us know what the people want.
-[] Heavy Industry
--[] Construct Geothermal Power Plants (Helpful) (Bonus: +1 PttF + 2 Omake = 3)
--[] Construct Geothermal Power Plants (Helpful) (Bonus: +1 PttF + 2 Omake = 3)
Geothermal power plants because that bonus has been sitting there for ages, and we're about to do a lot of heavy industry work which is going to be power hungry. MSRs will fill that gap in time, but right now geothermal is what's available and won't ding our Fuel levels. Also doing two ant once lets us make better use of our bonus, I think?
--[] The Dragon Rail (Mega-project - 1/64) (Harmful) (Sub Vote) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
--[] Rail Development Design Project (Mega-project - 3/3) (+1 Reputation) (Reduced Actions For The Dragon Rail) (Sub Vote) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
--[] Build Rolling Stock And Rail Factory Complex (Harmful) (+1 Reputation) (Reduced Actions For The Dragon Rail) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
No more delays!
-[] Social
--[] National Zoning Plan (???) (Sub Vote) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
Land use is a huge thing for rail development, and while we're at it we may as well come up with a more general national zoning plan that will save us a headache later by planning for future growth on a longer term horizon.
--[] Counterintelligence Sweep (???) (Sub Vote) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
We can't keep resting on our laurels here, we've got a lot of refugees coming in at the same time our enemies (and allies) have been given lots and lots of reasons to want to insert spies into Guangchou. Time to do a spring cleaning. Flush out some agents, turn a few others, keep some where they are and feed them false info, etc.
-[] Political
--[] China Refugee Outreach (???) (Bonus: +1 PttF)
Second verse, same as the first.
Continue providing food and shelter, and if the front lines have moved far enough start trying to get reconstruction going. Get labor councils going to help organize and administer services in the interim and support them materially as best we can.
In the more peaceful coastal regions, begin transferring knowledge of our aquaculture techniques and providing our selectively bred varieties of crops where appropriate to stabilize the food situation and improve the soft power of the areas we've influenced.
-[] CyPac
--[] IMF Bailout - Madagascar, Sudan, Yugoslavia (Bailout) (+1 Reputation)
--[] A Red Rising (+11 Reputation) (+4 People's Opinion) (+10% CyPac Cohesion)
Financial default is no joke, and we van help multiple countries at once here while fucking with the IMF. Reputation gain from it is low, but I think it's important to start doing more than just sponsoring revolutions.
Now... A Red Rising makes me nervous, because the US has never exactly had a sane reaction to feeling its colonial interests are threatened, but the rewards are large, ethically it would be a real dick move to leave them hanging, and frankly if the US can sponsor massacres in south east asia, us sponsoring rebellion in south america is only fair.
We're going to have to be sneaky about it, I think our best bet will be narco torpedoes - towed submarine cargo containers filled with goods that are dragged by fishing boats and handed off in open water.
