Welcome to this discussion, where we will decide what the first native Iron Tiger can do, how it will look, what armaments it has, and the role we want to design it for. In that regard, civility is required, Zu; I'm looking at you, and above all else, this is not the place to push agendas. This machine will be our people's legacy. It will be the first that we can proudly declare to be brought by the people and the one that will ring forever in history.
So lets us begin with those heavy expectations in mind and finish with grins on our faces and satisfaction in our hearts!
The first thing on our agenda will be the Chassis, which will define everything following this point. As a reminder: One Meter of Height requires Three Tons of Machinery and Alloys to stabilize and uphold the Iron Tiger. Currently, we can only have a Height of Ten Meters. Therefore, we have Four Tons of arms, armor, and equipment per Meter.
With the creation of the Chassis, we will also define the role of the Iron Tiger and what armaments and equipment it can wield and field.
A chassis designed for long-range fire will have a better time firing, using, and aiming long-range weaponry. In contrast, a close-range Iron-Tiger will have the opposite, both suffering stress in their systems from mounting weaponry and equipment they weren't designed to hold.
After that, we can test and install all the fun toys R&D has cooked up in the last few years. So let's get going!

AN: Basically, describe the Iron Tiger, how high it is, its morphology, and the role you envision it will occupy. Your Chassis has a certain amount of tonnage free per meter, which you can assign to either armor or specific equipment. In the sense of Long-Range Guns, Melee Weaponry, Sytems like Night Vision, Targeting Computers, etc.
As this is the first Turn, you will create the Chassis only, followed by a Turn for Equipment and Weaponry each, culminating in the name and category vote.

personally i think mechs should be reserved for combat on terrain where tanks are not feasible (mountainous,urban,forest etc),having an armored and relative fast marching infantry is an advantage on this enviroments
so a low height,heavy mech with armor and firepower to move and kill in closed spaces
because i dont see mechs outruning or outranging tanks (tanks are basically one big canon on a plataform,cant get more reliable for aiming than that)
so instead we should seek our unique niche doctrine for mechs
something like fallout sentry bots

Ok @HeroCooky if I understand the hints right we got conquered by China not because they were able to land on the island but by flight and bombing the shut out of us yeah?
So I think we need a Chassis that is small and nibble enough to maneuver thru the jungle and mountain areas yet has enough long range artillery to hit military planes and ships. A set of arms to pull itself up a cliff, raise a thick shield for extra protection from staffing fire and missiles. Or carry material to set up shelter once their fire exposes them or and exposed mountain top. Probably a autogun system for close quarters slash anti-missile weapon. Some sort of turbine or 3D movement gear for faster movement speed. Camo of course. Of course in the jungle it's easier to just move instead of holding a position.

Hmmm....actually, could we go with something more like mechanized engineers?
Give them some light-ish armament, but more equipment for construction/demolition, so they can function as enablers for heavier units - and have a civilian purpose as well?
Could also be something for later, I guess...

No, nobody outside of the island had ever managed to conquer the island with military means. The British used economy and political means to get you under their thumb for a few decades.
The Chinese never attacked you, they are your allies. But the balance of power is skewed so hard in their direction that you are basically a vassal even if neither you nor they say it. Both of you just stare at each other on that issue, both knowing that saying so out loud will result in them having to invade you.
The ones that tried to invade you were the IJN (Imperial Japanese Navy), but they failed hard and decided to bomb you back into the stone age for their defeat. The reason why you lack many things and are poor despite natural resources and strategic positioning indicating otherwise.
1. You have a big ass volcano mountain, with a smaller range in the middle with hills going outwards.
2. 'Bout a third of your island has them.
3. Again, a third, centered around and on the mountain range in the middle.
4. None.
5. The Iron Tigers will be automaticaly designed to uphold their weight. The three tons of machinery per meter rule is for that.

There's this B anime called Knights and Magic. I couldn't find a clip of a particular scene on YouTube but there is this scene with 2 centaur Mecha pulling a massive chariot that acts as a charger for the mech on it. We could make some Tiger Mecha to pull a chariot of Mecha on it. The Tigers and Chariot could be just for speed and delivery of ammo and power?

I've seen this idea before and don't agree with the logic behind it. A legged vehicle is far less capable of navigating rough terrain than a wheeled or tracked vehicle of similar mass. The high and constantly shifting center of gravity, lack of traction, vulnerable and difficult to fix joints, and high ground pressure would make it a nightmare. Tho the sentry bot looks like it's on wheels anyway?
I sort of like that idea. Ditch the legs if that's allowed, use treads protected by a flared out metal body, with a rotating "torso" and grasping arms. It will operate like the tankette the bundeswehr uses (wiesel awc) but look like a lady in an enormous Victorian dress, or maybe a dalek.
What advantages does a legged tank give exactly I think I missed it besides cool factor?
