Super Robot Quest

Working on a plan already. Should be up in a bit but still need to know how much RP we have.

Remember, options are now by advisor availability. Make sure you check each option, some advisors are still locked in.

Also, one more edit incoming.

That wraps up at the end of this turn, and then more options for C-Crystals open up.

Also, be advised, made one edit to the reaction force tab. You have a new option due to what Adriana found previously.

Holy crap I forgot about that underwater thing!

Here is my plan ladies and gentleman.

[X] Plan getting back into the action.
-[X] Something In The Waters
-- [X] Adriana
-[X] Liaison: Dr. Yukimura/Yukimura Institute
-- [X] Haruko Sasaki
-[X] Design Super Robot Core Unit
-- [X] Support
--- [X] Wilde and Henry
-[X] Triple Combination - Prototyping
-- [X] Jiro Yukimura
-[X] Enemy Wreckage Analysis - Bandit's Blaster
-- [X] Lana
-[X] [ONGOING]
Super Carrier Sergey Gorshkov
--
[X] Katarina

Canceling my plan since Captain wolfs is better and he has good points about the stuff coming in next turn

Alright, here is my plan. If an advisor isn't mentioned, its because they are already locked into a project. I am not starting on any refits because next turn a large amount of research will be finishing, and I want to see the results of said research before committing to unit upgrades. This way, next turn we will have a massive amount of new possibilities to integrate into our super robots.

[X] Plan Prepare the Forge
-[X] Defense Force
--[X] Something In The Waters
---[X] Adriana
--[X] Liaison Duties: Dr. Yukimura/Yukimura Institute
---[X] Haruko Sasaki
-[X] Engineering
--[X] Put together a team to conduct item fabrication without needing advisor oversight
---[X] Lana
--[X] Enemy Wreckage Analysis - Bandit's Blaster
---[X] Wilde and Henry
--[X] Enemy Wreckage Analysis - Heat Knife
---[X] Jiro Yukimura
-[X] Special Actions
--[X] [ONGOING]Super Carrier Sergey Gorshkov

Which salvage pile are you looking to study?

E: The Blaster, excellent choice.

[X] Plan Prepare the Forge
Looking to upgrade a bunch of our staples with the new tech (energy blaster, heat) and dealing with a bunch of other stuff.
Also, continuing to flex on the rest of the EDF with the carrier rather than merely accepting average results is only ever a plus.

@Captainwolf. could we modify your plan to have Jiro hold off on enemy wreckage to do triple combination for next turn? I actually agree with your plan but think Triple combination is very important.

Here is what I suggest.

[X] Plan Prepare the Forge but with Triple Combination.
-[X] Defense Force
--[X] Something In The Waters
---[X] Adriana
--[X] Liaison Duties: Dr. Yukimura/Yukimura Institute
---[X] Haruko Sasaki

--[X] Put together a team to conduct item fabrication without needing advisor oversight

---[X] Jiro Yukimura
-[X] Special Actions

No, because currently Ivanna is working on the following:
K-Scale Refinement

Ivanna's Logs:

"An interesting proposal for K-Scale has arrived from the Engineering department. Mr. Yukimura has inquired as to the possibility of creating entire internal components with K-Scale weave, which theoretically would allow for even greater tolerances and output from the proposed engine design."

"As dubious as I am about creating an entire Super Robot from K-Scale, this suggestion has given me enough cause to rethink the issue. I do still feel this comes a little too close to the wretched designs that are sent by Dr. Sheol - too close to the living, breathing, hateful Kaiju who seem to do nothing but make life miserable for the surface as a whole. That said, I do think that it can be done - but a sufficient method of control by those who will not abuse the amount of power it could bring would be required."

"The C-Crystal would be the likeliest candidate, but that would be pending more investigation of those artifacts. But given Mr. Yukimura's requests, I should be able to run some tests..."
As such, next turn I think we will get something that will help with triple combination, so I'm waiting for that. Admittedly, since triple combination takes 4 turns I assume the science results would be integrated anyway.

okay, well I am going with your plan and canceling mine anyway since again you have good points.

[X] Plan Prepare the Forge

So, this weekend I've learned that there is a Super Robot series where the antagonists are defeated with the power of rock (or J-pop, I can't really tell). As someone had mentioned previously, the DFRI also has (almost) all of the components for Evangelion-like semi-organic mechas. And also...
Cavalier: Concussion Blaster ready! Targeting Scrapheap.
Rolls: 6, 2, 3.
Scrapheap is hit dead center with weaponized sound!
... this part here. All this makes me even more determined to come up with a semi-organic mecha with music powers.

"Preferrably without the crying, Nailhead, you're a fully adjusted mech for Metatrine's sake."
"But I refuse!"

I just thought of it but @Basarin can the Mining Laser Blaster be reworked back into a regular mining laser for civilian purposes?

Those kind of things would be very useful in asteroid belt mining, plus other uses too.

@Thors_Alumni In theory, certainly. It'll be up to Engineering to see if they can make that work or if it just makes a bigger boom (which is also always a success!).

@Not in Person Glad to see you have discovered the campy glory that is Macross 7. I'd say it's rock, but given this is Macross there's plenty of J-Pop interspersed (it doesn't quite go into rock territory like, say, the Legend of Black Heaven does).

[X] Plan Prepare the Forge

I think next turn we should really talk to GDF we haven't reached out to them at all so far and well we shouldn't ignore them and make them into an enemy.

Looking a bit at our mission for the year (Have a second super robot ready to go, which we currently don't really have; though maybe the pilot training result will surprise us), I am pretty sure that our bottleneck is in engineering advisors. Refitting a super robot to combine? Engineering advisor required. Creating a new unit to combine with? Engineering advisor required. Building a support unit? Engineering advisor required. Building up that cool thing science division researched? Engineering advisor required. We need twice as much engineering advisors as science advisors merely to keep abreast with what we actually research. I guess that once Katrina finishes with Space Battleship Gorshkov we should throw her at the low yield engineering options to pick up the slack.

In a broader sense, I don't think that either Tellision/Zheng or Ichiro are up to par with Callaghan in terms of units (Jessica is a ???); Tellision/Zheng specifically can't use the finisher that they have equipped because they lack a power source*. We should probably start designing the next combination for them concurrently with the triple combination research. It's more important now that equipping extra stuff incurs a downtime cost which incentivizes us to support all our units equally rather than rely on Callaghan to do everything**.

* Though maybe Max's actions in Helping hand will pay unexpected dividends there.
** I really like the idea of this mechanic actually, it pushes us to give all our pilots screen time and since we can refit our super robots during their downtime it also earmarks when to upgrade each robot.
