Super Robot Quest

You know, the way this quest goes at times, I think when we fight the Mecha-Bismark, there's good odds that we rapidly end the fight via an extremely lucky critical strike to their magazines.

And before anyone says it's impossible, remember: We can do called shots, including things like breaking off a kaiju's main ranged weapon. So calling a shot on the location of the Bismark's magazines should be possible. Especially as I think we'd have historic plans for their location and there is a limit to how much the ship can be rearranged in the rebuilding. Supposedly.

That said, it wouldn't help if they swap to energy weapons or something I suppose...

i'm pretty sure there aren't two frankies in this group, basarin :D

Nope. No mistake to see here. Certainly wasn't because the QM was sleep deprived or anything. >_>

Seriously, though, thanks for pointing that out. Fixed!

Never underestimate the power of bullshit anime superscience to rework anything and everything. :)

I'll try to have the next turn post go up this week. No guarantees since I still have to lock in arrangements for the new place, but fingers crossed.

Especially since the ship hulk would be more rust than steel by this point.

Also true. Again, though, superscience and what not.

But on a more serious note, I encourage people who are interested in it to read up on rediscovering the Bismarck's resting place. Both the story of its takedown and the autopsy of the wreckage decades later make for some fascinating reading on their own.

"You'll have time for that later, man," 'Frankie' chided. "We've got the commandant waiting on us."

"No, no, I'm good," you say with a bemused tone. You, Igantov and Katarina all share glances.

on second pass, missed these ones too

"So!" Sitting down across from where the hatch to the crew entry would be, she snapped her fingers in what Ichiro could only see as veiled annoyance. "The entire wreckage of a historical artifact - an entire battleship - is gone. The office that's supposed to manage historians' access to it is gone, and has been for the last few months."

"How do you lose a-?" Ichiro started to ask.

"Still figuring that part out," Anna cut him off. "But!" Her annoyance soon shifted into a grin. "I have a fair idea of where they might be going. And this is where you come in!"

"Expecting trouble?"

"Wouldn't have brought you along otherwise. They might even bring one of those huge frame thingies."

"Oh. Great."

Considers typical SRW tropes

You know the chances that they are actually on our side (while low) aren't that bad.

I wonder how they kept the superstructure together when they moved it. Its a century year old wreck so its mostly held together with rust. Even bullshit superscience can only do so much with it. I give Ichiro better than even odds that he curb stomps the thing if they try turning it into a battle mecha of any kind. As for the three AI, I am looking forward to their interactions with the other AI including the kausen.

See why I ended that paragraph with Supposedly. :p Especially seeing as we're currently converting a wet navy aircraft carrier into a space, and maybe even star, ship. Without the tech allowing for said conversions existing when the aircraft carrier was first designed.

I've seen bits and pieces of it, but I'm still in the middle of trying to get settled in the new area. So haven't really had time to watch much of anything. :\

Seems like Rooster Teeth's take on the real robot genre, though (haven't watched much of anything they made since the early days of Red v. Blue, though).

I recommend watching it free on some cartoon site cause so far does a really good job with mecha genre, you might enjoy it, and maybe get some ideas from their take from it in general.

Sol-forged Kausen? Where's the pun? I don't get it. Also, it seems the idea of female Kausen is not that rare.

I was wholly unimpressed with Gen:Lock
But that might be due to the fact I can't derive enjoyment from half-hearted knockoffs.

The woke Gundam? Can you give us an exmple? I haven't watched it and I'll probably wait until a few episodes are out before doing so. However, seeing how bad the animation got in RWBY until the latest Volume, I'm not sure they can make Real Robot battles right anyway.

You should try Sengoku Rance. Also a strategy game, but a funny one.
It is also one of those games where I want to punch the protagonist in the face repeatedly. But not as hard as others of it's kind, like, say, Bunny Black series. Since we're sharing embarassing details of one's life and all.

The other guy...the man who went toe to toe with an Angel on foot (and even got a nod from Gendo himself, noting that only 'that man' could even consider such a method) is one of the villains from Giant Robo, one of the main officers of the organization 'Big Fire.' That man is Alberto the Shockwave. This was a man who decided, in the middle of a fight, that an explosion that came just a little too close to him was perfect for lighting a cigar.
And so, I finally googled him up. What little I saw of him gave me an impression of a genleman both classy and badass. Now I'm even more biased towards big battlebots being battered by barehanded badasses. Only have two questions about that:

1. What's up with Alberto's tracktor beam hands?
2. May I write a few snippets about the Other DFRI, Ground Forces Edition; and what do I need to know to do that?

@Not in Person, have a cookie for the alliteration. Also, check your inbox sometime this weekend, I'll ping you some details over what you want to write.

Next turn post to come sometime this weekend. Aiming to get it in before the movers come to bring me back all my stuff, and all the madness that entails.

... What? Embarrassing details? If you don't like the eroge genre that much, I don't know why you played SR (heh) to begin with, it makes no attempts to hide the kind of game that is and how the world works with "porn logic", literally. At worst, ignoring all of the VN stuff the gameplay of Sengoku Rance is good.

I dunno if I told this here or not, but I'll repeat just in case: Watch out with movers, sometimes they have a tendency to be light-fingered.
