Honestly, the Choir assignment seems to be a bit too easy to make a mistake with.

Could we change it to something like.

- [] [Free] 1149 Choirs Available for Assignment:
  • [Locked in] 180 Choirs for Infrastructure Duties (Including 50 free Choirs for auto ticker) 969 Choirs
  • [Locked in] 161 Choirs for Fleet Duties 808 Choirs
  • [Locked in] 500/500 for No Evil 308 Choirs
  • [Locked in] 100/100 for Luminous Paths 208 Choirs
  • [Flex] 50/50 for Heartbeat of Industry 158 Choirs
  • [Flex] 20/20 for Devouring Mechadendrite 138 Choirs
  • [Flex] 100/100 for Hippity Hoppity 38 Choirs
  • [Flex] 38 for Steam Valves 0 Choirs
  • [New] Assign new Choirs in priority assuming ~250 Growth (New System Comms -> New Fleet Fast Transit -> Steam Valves until 100 -> Glint of Genius until 40 -> Class is in Session until 40 -> Works Generational until 50 -> Dutiful Spirits until 100)
The idea for this is that the [Locked in] choices will stay that way regardless of other assignments unless specifically specified that they are going to be changed. [Flex] choices are things that might change depending on what we are doing.
Other than that it simply helps clear up any confusion over what Choirs are being assigned to, while giving HeroCooky a clear idea on where we want new Choirs to go. @Alectai @Neablis. What do you think of this?
Added something like that. @HeroCooky Let me know if this setup is better or worse.

Waiting for Naeblis to finish updating their plan for the rest of my designs.
Finished!

I've got no clue. Btw, did you see my post on a potential new format for the Choir's a few posts back? Could you give me some feedback on that?
Hmm it's not a bad call to separate the "locked in" Choirs with the ones that aren't as locked in. Choir numbers get a little freaky to keep track of as the numbers are getting bigger. At a certain point we might need a table but updating that every turn seems like a hassle

I already do keep track of the Choirs every update. The info is in the 'Choir Numbers and Assignments' threadmark under Informational. Also @Neablis Unless we are getting 0.2 Automatic progress through the auto-ticker on Melodies, then I don't think we can get Death 3 this turn.

Wait - when did we get the upgrade to the Melody auto-ticker?
I think it's been that way for a long time. If it upgrades it's when we went to 6 melodies.

See, one turn:
[] [Psykana] Conduct Six Melodies (0.6/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]
The next turn:
[] [Psykana] Conduct Six Melodies (0.8/1 - Auto Complete) - [Choose Melody]

Anyone willing to translate those binary segments? I'm on my phone.

PS: If you have a python shell, the following function might be useful:
Python:

    space_removed_fragments = bin_string.split(" ")
    reconstructed_bin_string = ""
    for fragment in space_removed_fragments:
        reconstructed_string = reconstructed_string + fragment
    bytes_bin_string_fragment_list = []
    byte_bin_string = ""
    counter = 0

    decoded_data = recovered_bytes.decode(encoding)
    print("Decoded:" + decoded_data)

How? They literally Double your numbers for fighters, which is both insane and enables a single wing to act like two?
Eh, like I said that maybe I'm viewing them too simlar to the Vulture Droid of Star wars or the drones we se today, expected more to be assigned and used considering their expendable nature and the specs to match. Based on what you said, I'm guessing that's not the case and they are a big investment and on par with their Big Sister/Pack Mother?

If that's the case then I understand and it is worth it. just misunderstanding on my part.

Minor quibble: they would only be able to bring the soldiers onto the hull if this design wins. And even then, expect 20% failure-rates in teleporting them (aka: they're now lost in the Warp) due to active Voidshields blocking Teleportariums.
Yahhhhh, we only took the orbitals intact at Voxx primus due to the shield generators shutting down. We should need the Rad Lances or the other Green gun that shreds shields but meh against armor to use the Teleporting well in boardings. Which can be done it just needs the right ships in the right positions.

Aboard the Wander-Paths-That-Converge-Again, two Kil'drabi stood within one of the many viewing galleries lining the inside of their home, the ship outfitted with enough cameras to allow these interior rooms to display the outside with perfect clarity...even if this particular room was currently experiencing -64C° temperatures due to a cooling unit routing its flow through the gallery thanks to a mechanical failure, leading to a slightly sub-optimal viewing experience, what with the frost collecting on the screens and all.

Nonetheless, Maker-of-Clockwork-Life and Shaped-By-Unspoken-Truths stood side by side in the gallery, silently looking out into the endless expanse...and the Battlecolony they had been born on, Autumn's Harvest, floating in the void, its engine and command deck separated, thousands of metal fragments floating between the splayed-out guts and skeleton of the mighty vessel glittering in a thousand hues thanks to the local star reflecting off of the debris field.
Holy hell it is freezing in there.

What the.... Did these two somehow CRASH their Battlecolony? holy frack that must have been court marshal..... wait that doesn't look/read like it was crashed or ripped in half through a accident.

Slowly, Maker-of-Clockwork-Life turned to her lifelong friend and glowered. "This must be the second most stupid thing I have ever seen."

"Only the second? What is the first?" Shaped-By-Unspoken-Truths asked in turn, still watching the massive foundries of the Autumn supply the hundreds of construction ships surrounding it, a new, and titanic, spine slowly forming behind the vessel, the engines long towed safely far away. Where the spine had already been set, a new skeleton of metal began to snake out, before guts and muscle were added by millions of Kil'drabi workers filling out the construction.
.... wait, did they... did they cut apart the Battlcolony and using the Foundries to build the ship around it.... they cut up the 7km Battle Colony to make it build it self again to the 28KM!? I thought they would straight up build a new one. Like holy shit trying to build the spine and just attach to the 7km part and.... they view that as just fine or normal don't they? at least one Kil'drabi has sense.

"Some Irrita are trying to create a...what's it called...ah, Birchworld around Abyssal Eye, fully out of a void-adapted ecosystem that feeds on the black hole's emissions."
THEY ARE WHAT!?

@HeroCooky I don't need Sleep I need answers! How the Hell do plants feed off emissions from a black hole and doing a damn Dyson Sphere around a Black Hole!? and its void adapted ecosystem, so no atmosphere needed there? I NEED DETAILS! Bring me back to when the Yeeni were the outlier and crazy ones for finding all the Necron's stuff!

"Sounds kind of fascinating, actually," Shaped-By-Unspoken-Truths replied with a hum, looking unbothered by the continued glower. "But why's this the first?"

"...are you serious? We are adding over twenty kilometers to our Battlecolonies! All of them! How is this not stupid?!" Maker-of-Clockwork-Life growled, looking out at the massive construction where, in essence, a new ship was being created, and the old was repurposed as basically nothing more than spar parts and guideline points. Even the engine block was being quadrupled before it was slated to be attached again.
That said, it does. It so 40k levels of crazy and out thereness and goes against all common sense but I am curious about it and want know more. and that is worth first place in that.

Oh that's... as a guide and spare parts, there are easier ways of just building the ships in drydocks and the like. this seems unnecessarily complicated since they craved up the ship and making the ship the framework and scaffolding.

"Well, I heard it was because the Admiralcy wanted to avoid the headache of building new ship classes to fit the growing fleets."

"...I kind of hate that I understand that," Maker-of-Clockwork-Life murmured, glaring at the screens, only for Shaped-By-Unspoken-Truths to lean over to her.

"Don't say this to anyone," they whispered, "but I know the real reason." With that, they had her attention. "The Admiralcy did this not because they did not want to deal with the paperwork," Shaped-By-Unspoken-Truths glanced around as if to make sure they were alone, "but because they got information that the Star Navy won't build their Battleships larger than 28 kilometers. So we are building our Battlecolonies 28 kilometers and one-meter lo-" and with that, found themselves being swatted at by two of Clockwork's arms, an indignant huff escaping her as Truths made a mock-retreat, laughing all the while.
.... I'd believe it. I wholeheartedly believe that reasoning. Also love the names for them, always little thing but its fun.

But yah, trying to do retrofits and stuff does make a lot of sense considering the ship design and building going on right now, but to do it as a dick measuring contest is very much in line with how some services and sects of the military can be.

Somewhere aboard the Black Cat's Claw.

Oh shit so that's how the Machine spirit is, along with how the rites are phrased with three times to call it and do the acutal code/command phase for the action, in this case transferring authority by first waking it up and having it scann the IFF codes and the like. probably fun to come up with nonsense garble for the command code.

Fine. Now let me slumber...

Current Warp Tremors: [High - Decreasing].
nice its going down now.

-[X] Bubble Drive Prototype - Will complete in 900.M43
(Gain: Bubble Drive Prototype)
Oh wow I didn't know it meant it'd be sitting there for it.

-[] Black Cat Shield Overload, Large Black Cat Troop Compartment, Expanded Sensorium, and Black Cat Heat Cyclers (0/1)
(Gain: Black Cat Ship Equipment.)
-[] Black Cat Ship Weapon Rationalization (0/1)
(Gain: Increased Weapon Cramming Threshold.)
-[] New Generation Ground Vehicles (0/1)
(Gain: Massively Upgraded Ground Vehicles)
Oh? damn looks like that made quite a bit of advances or equipment for them, more shield Overloads, troop compartment will be interesting, better sensors, and Heat Cyclers? Oh that might be good for our Lance turret ships or prow lance ships. Ahhh I want to do it but already so much to do at this point.

And sweet, we can finally make new Gen Ground Vehicles again.

Orbital Habitat - Jak-Hal
Suspected Subversion Time: ~120 Years
Modifiers: Isolationist Society

Oqo - Ishanu
Suspected Subversion Time: ~50 Years
Modifiers: Small Fish
Oh these ones, the last indepdents in the Ishanu-Subsector and Unfallen Subectors. not bad targets.

-[] Sector Battle Group Black Cat (132/0 Ship Capacity)
(77x Little Paw-Class Missile Destroyer, 28x Mother Cat Troopship, 19x Cat's Fang-Class Lancer, 7x Tomcat-Class Artillery Cruiser, 1x Black Cat's Claw)
Oh wow that was quite a few of them. 28 troopships so I think we should be good of troop carrying, 19 lancer ships, 77 missile destroyers, 7 artilery Cruisers, as opposed to our Arty Frigates, and the Battleship. I think it might be worth it TO make an Artillery Light or Heavy Cruiser as well at this point.

Intersting
[] [Chapter] Lament's Legion (0/1)
...
(Gain: ...
Warning: Does not Auto-Complete.)
.......Oh dear, the fact it is legion building and it needs US to do it... and its all blank. I have no idea what it could be but tempting...

Tears of the Void
-Length - 28.000m
-Width - 6.000m
-Acceleration - 1 Gravities
-Armor - Deus-Ultima Pattern Armor
-Shields - Five Refutation-Pattern Void Shields
-Weapons - 20x Boarding Torpedos/20x Light Macro-Cannon Turrets/8x Ultra Heavy Rotary Plasma-Macro Cannon Batteries/2x Heavy Prow Hangars (Boarding) (Total: 200 Boarders and 60 Fighters)
-Equipment -Armored Prow/Armored Bridges/Military Bastions/Strict Pilot Training/Harsh Crew Training/Shield Overload/Gravimetric Violation-Modulators/Twisted Knotted Vinelloy/Chapels to the Five/Sanctum of the Steam/Symphonia Arcanum Arma/Space Marine Crew/Paw and Claw/4x Large Teleportariums/Snapshot Pinpoint Targeting Solutions/Auto-Loaders/After-Burner Macro-Shells/High-Explosive+Armor-Piercing+Cluster Munition Macron-Cannon Shells/Emergency Maneuver Thrusters/4x Dedicated Ortillery/2x Heavy Ortillery
Speaking of, the Lamenters Battleship. not a surprise they went max Length and Width along with shields and armor. Holy shit that is a lot of boarding torpedo's and boarding craft in the hangars. considering it can fit 20 companies I'm not surprised but damn. made for boarding and ramming alright, I am surprised there are no Fangs of Dew at all. The Tears also has 20 light Macro cannons to point defense and light weapons and then the Ultra Heavy Rotary Plasma Macro Cannon Batteries for hard hitting.

Holy shit they took Military Bastions, they are a boarding ship so makes sense. they got the fun Gravimetric Violation-Modulators, they did indeed get the Twisted Knotted Vinelloy for boarding defense and repairs, Anti-Chaos Sanctum of the Steam detachment of Yeeni on board for equipment maintenance and the like. a lot of upgrades for accuracy and range and damage for the guns.... wow that is a lot of Ortillery for bombardment support. and 4 large Teleportariums... damn pair this up with an SBG or task fleet with stuff meant to strip away shields and let them go at it.

[] [Heavy Freighter] Columba-class Logistics Freighter
wouldn't it be good to have some other stuff like small on board manufactory and the like? I get the need for support and in this case the ship that grows the food but is that it?

[] [Temple Ship] The Divine Spark
I.... its way too late and I can't stop you but I would say to keep in mind to build a temple ship meant to convert and focused on it or to have one with the Extermintus weapons, we really should have a ship with that kind of weapon in our deck. its a good support and morale raising for the fleet. Just saying might be worth it to have it as a mobile mega church to follow the fleets and convert sub-sectors and such.

Those are very, good questions! Let the Irrita doing this project know once you have an answer. :V

No fangs because it is meant as a Boarding/Brawler/Campaign HQ vessel.

Edit: I am a bit surprised to note that nobody has yet commented on the fact that the Lamenters are incorporating both Irritan Tech as well as having close ties to Yeeni-derived Equipment, with even a "Paw and Claw" on their Battlebarge, even if it is obvious why.

Why? As you've mentioned before, every member of the Lamenters are of the Federation. There wouldn't be anything stopping them from using the other member races' special stuff on their ships.

Edit: @HeroCooky. I've got some questions:
1. Do our neighbors (S.G, Mashan, Dutchy, Watchtower) know of their respective next door cults?
2. If they do, do they know how big the cults are?
3. How much good will will we get if give them our complete maps of the cult's territories.

Huh. I just realised. These three are old.

Chapter Master: Gamma
Master of Recruits: Delta
Chief Chaplain: Beta
Like even for Space Marines. These three and Alpha were sworn in as Lamenter Neophytes in 030.M42. That's almost 1,300 years.

Dante one of the main Space Marine hero's in canon 40k is absolutely famous for being absurdly ancient, he's 1,500.

These 3 are a serious big deal, not just by our handful of sub-sectors. But as genuine Heroic level Space Marines even by the scales of the wider galaxy.

Hmm, its probably mitigated by the fact that they haven't been in near-constant high level conflict. Still, they are definitely Heroic, if a bit on the low end of that bracket.

I mean, yeah, that's why its obvious. But even one post about Yeeni and Lamenter working together being an odd, if welcome, thing in 40k and a signs of your society growing would have been nice. :<

1. Yeah, and the Duchy is low-key freaking out like a germaphobe in a kindergarten. The rest are preparing.
2. Yeah, you gave everyone your map because you aren't dumb and any polity preparing to take down Chaos is one you can vibe with...until Chaos is down. Then you reassess.
3. None, they already know.

The #1 cause of death for a Space Marine is violence as they don't really do "aging" as we normies do. Those three just hadn't had enough violence to get their number one. The vast majority of all Federation Lamenters are also old as balls compared to the average Space/Primaris Marine.

If you are curious; Chyron died via Old Age due to his Dreadnought not being fully maintained and thus slowly killing him over the centuries.

Regarding the Lamenters. Have there been any improvement to the process of creating a space marine? Do they still need to use kids? Is the training still unnecessary brutal?
