The Miranda-class is a fixed point in the space time contiunium, we can't change it or make it different. It will be made as it always has been made. It is the same, like James T. Kirk taking command of the Enterprise. Or Janeway drinking to much coffee, Sisko punching Q and Picard being the hero of my childhood.

I just figured that Borg tech was so advanced that the shape of their warp fields is completely independent from their ships' geometry, so they maximized internal space instead.

Serious answer: the cubes are apparently so big that Seven notes in Voyager that they have to use temporal conduits to synchronize the time-frame they're in in transwarp, which very well might be why no other species has even considered it except the Voth. And uh.. the Voth are literal dinosaurs.

So what you're saying is, that if we make a smaller C U B E then we don't have to use temporal conduits?
