My worry about the cruise speed is we genuinely might run into issues where we can't run down pirates/interlopers even after plotting an interception if they can just outsprint us. There's obviously going to be some we can and can't chase down regardless if we choose cruise or sprint, but I think a reputation for doggedly running down as many pirates as we can is going to be worth more than having a broader presence enabled by a faster cruise speed.

The Vulcan ships are actually shaped kinda like swords, which makes them extremely badass actually.

You're both wrong, the Vulcan ships are pointy because so are their ears.
It's the closest thing the Vulcans have to an in joke, not shared with outsiders.

Star Destroyers are generally flattened pyramids. The closest in Star Trek to them are probably Vulcan ships.
Which direction do you even pilot a hexagon? Is the top the front where you can see the whole shape? Or is it one of the sides?
