[X] Biosciences Ship

I'd like to design a defence satellite since I think normalizing having them all over the place would help a lot with safety in the frontier but we don't have a lot of Warp 8 capable ships at the moment which I think is a bigger issue.

I'd aim for something in the 100kt to 150kt range, no or integrated secondary hull, spring configuration, 1 Type 3 engine, 1 rapid fire torpedo launcher, 1 forward 1 back phaser, covariant shields. Any bio science lab, hospital if on offer and 1 cargo bay.

This should ideally be about 40 to 50 cost, I'd want a slightly better than 2:1 build ratio between this and the Excaliburs.

Oh now this is a tough one. I really want both.

Yet lets go with something new. Something we don't see the Federation use.

Nacelles configured for cruise rather than sprint, so we don't need to spend a pick on antimatter storage to have decent range.

I want to do both tbh, but biosciences is just the more interesting option to me, we haven't really gotten a chance for either of these options since ones a satellite and ones a hyper-specialized ship.

No one is forcing us to pick up extra antimatter, I just want this thing to be able to sprint in response to disasters. Like we can have decent range inherently, antimatter just let's us go at max cruise longer.

Sprint isn't actually useful for responding to disasters that you aren't already right on top of. For that you want max cruise, which our current nacelle design is capping at warp 7 (plus or minus fiddling around with the configuration) until we get some sort of nacelle upgrade so it can actually handle the output of our warp drive.

Sprint matters in combat (letting you catch up with or break away from the enemy), or if a situation abruptly breaks down or crops up when you're already only a couple of hours cruise away, or the like.

Just remember folks, if we do a science ship, we can't use a half saucer or we'll get called out on making a warship in the peace talks! :D (If it's unclear, this is a joke)
