I am so glad that i am not the only one to do something like this
of course the operator of the one i used was a villain, which belied his stature as a grey and white flop eared rabbit
You gave Bun Bun of Sluggy Freelance space marine armor and twin gatling guns? Did you not learn anything from Riff? That rabbit is dangerous enough with just a switch blade and a Glock.

Well that was an interesting end to the fight. Also I would not ever want to be in Faevras position. Lolth is not known for being light or merciful with her punishments. Worse, death doesn't get Faevras out of it since Lolth is the goddess of the dark elves.

Back earth side… I would almost feel sorry for Emma if she wasn't so particularly detestable in this continuity. Sure she probably didn't deserve to have this happen. Yet on the other hand she also didn't not deserve some sort of ironic punishment for her actions.

You just know that SOMEONE is going to go "Wait, Naurelin seems to do well with other dragons - let's have HER see about socializing this one!"

Just past her prime, and beginning the slow descent into senescence.

Oh, that...

That's cruel.

Sure, she's powerful now, but...

She's been condemned to slowly wither away, gradually growing ever weaker.

On top of how her mind and soul have clearly been... the closest word I can think of is mutilated...

Whoever did this wants these great wyrms to be powerful, but manipulable... and not around for long (relatively speaking)…

I've got a bad feeling about this...

IIRC, said slow decent can take a millennium or more before the end comes by natural causes, and centuries at minimum before senility sets in.

Most likely, while physically powerful, Emma here will be much less powerful then a green dragon that reached this age naturally. After all, she will be lacking in the wisdom and spellcasting knowledge that most greens pick up over their long lives...

Looks like a WH40K Space Marine, with a vulcan that shoots magic missiles. A lot of Magic missiles. Also, Sabri's a terrible shot
I think some people call that 'accuracy by volume'. And given that description, I would rather call Sabri's get-up a '40k Space Marine with a Reaper Chaincannon' (ignoring the fact it's become a Chaos Space Marine-only weapon) 😏😏

As I recall, the ritual the Big Bag put her and Sophia through burned up most of their lifeforce, they only have centuries of life left even as Great Wyrms. This is because Emma was meant to be a disposable weapon against Taylor, and Sophia was supposed to guard his Horcrux and be his emergency re-spawn point/body.

Of course those plans are now scrambled as both of them are loose and operating on their own, and the Horcrux ended up somewhere else (and the BB needs a dragon near it to respawn, can't remember if it needs to be a Black, or if that's just his preference)

Specifically his Soul Jar/Phylactery/Horcrux ended up being sent straight to "The Lady" of Sigil who has presumably disposed of it by now which also likely means that our Big Bad is now officially SOL.

I was blanking on the word 'phylactery' :p
Also I couldn't recall where it had gone other than 'somewhere really unfortunate' for the Big Bad :drevil:

That, and the phylactery only works if it and the lich are in the same plane of existence/space-time, which they no longer are. Falazure is imprisoned in Carceri(N/CE Lower Plane); while his phylactery has been Mazed by the Lady of Pain. Oh, and Io shows signs of not being quite as trapped as Falazure has been lead to believe.

I don't believe she destroyed it, merely put it away securely. And nobody does secure storage like the Lady of Pain.

For a Wand of Magic Missiles, I'd say the usual "it always hits" applies. With this, it's a device that casts the spell, shooting it straight out until it hits something or max range. And it does it in volume.

All while Sabri is going "Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" with an unholy grin on her face (inside the helmet).
That sounds about right, especially Sabri's attitude. She must be kept away from any and all Bakuda variants.

(Radio ad) You want to have a great sub, you go to Jersey Mike's; you want a great ad idea, you go to me...
I am a lone ninja warrior in a strange land, watching the people from concealment. At times, I go to Jersey Mike's and watch the slicing preparation of the fresh meats and cheeses. My blade is named Shadow. His is a fine meat slicer. Clearly, I have much to learn about this land.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's as close as I'll get to a life of slices. Please forgive me.
Oh, that's strange. There are fewer than twenty-five posts on this page and no next page button. I would think that meant I'd reached the most recent page, but that would mean I'd have to wait for the next chapter instead on continuing to binge read and that is unthinkable.
So, um, hi. I've been binge reading I've the past week or so and quite enjoying the madness.
I totally understand where you're coming from. Having done that more than a few times, I call the phenomenon "Binge Read Whiplash". ;)
yeah that sudden stop can be jarring.
Have you checked out Kryslin's other fics?
My Life as a Teenage Juggernaut (Taylor gets the power of Marvel's Juggernaut) or Mobile Escalation Skitter Gundam (Worm/Gundam)
So, my bud turned me on to Dungeon Dad's pieces on YouTube including the man's renovations of things like DRAGON Magazine's old Worstiary.
As the third part of covering the bizarre golems article (the first two had been the Chocolate Golem and the Plush Golem, the latter of which makes me recall Akira) Dungeon Dad hit up the Chia Golem. to see what could be done with it..." I actually like the Chia Golem as it gives Druids a route (root?) into areas normally tread by mages and priests.
The Chia Golem is, after all, set up like a Chia Pet in that the Druid or druids (as they're often grove guardians) make a hollow clay figurine, bake it to firmness, fill it with dirt, fertilizer, and the seeds of choice, then hit it up with spells to grow the plants and animate the clay, melding the lot into a living host for a nature spirit... because druids.
Here's the thing... any plant(s). This is so, so ready for abuse. And whatever the plant, the Chia Golem is truly loyal to the grove and druidic circle. I immediately thought of the Coffee Chia Golem for keeping the Grove druids alert and any enemies frenzied and prone to heart attacks.
Massive reply flood in progress...
"Anything strong enough to put a dragon out will also be strong enough to keep them asleep for several years. As you still have growing up ahead of you, I don't want to take that away from you. And really, sleeping out a decade is overrated. You've got so much to catch up on when you wake up, it's really more work than it's worth."
"Not to mention all the accumulated homework," said Naichi.
Catching up is bad enough if you are merely out sick for a day or two. Out for a decade? At least in a world with magic there always the option of a de-aging spell and just starting over.
And having to repeat primary and middle school and possibly high school should be enough to discourage those multi year naps while still in school. I've suggested more than once that the whole, Peggy Sue wake up back in high school genre should be considered a sub-genre of horror.
"You know the old internet meme, about a list 'evil overlords' should read? Let's just say while not a five year old, a ten year old can do just as good a job finding the holes in your plan, and actually has the vocabulary to tear you a new one." Raven swirled her wine in her glass, before taking another sip. "At that point, I decided I needed help, and the whole kiss/kill thing? The kill part kind of... gave up and ran for the hills?"
You know, that's a good advantage of the villain keeping an older child on hand to poke holes in your plans. Another is that it gives you another reason (beyond, I told you to, which ought to be enough but somehow often isn't) to tell your minions to behave. And observing to see which minions think getting rid of the kid will loosen you up helps as a filter to decide which minions may be more trouble than they are worth.
Queen Tendi: Hopefully I won't have to crush anyone into a cube again.
For one thing the risk of a lawsuit by that one space dock/shipyard AI is something anyone would want to avoid. ("Please be advised that any ship left on the docks for more than 24 hours will be compressed to a cube. At the owners' expense.")
I was worried that we were about to get a most YOUTHFUL infestation of ninja.
Remember, ninja are like mythos, once they're in a story they're in the story and you aren't getting rid of them no matter how much Ninja B'gone or Anti Ultra-Yellow spray you use.
Our friendly wolf boy is still alive enough to post so he must have given Bun Bun something. It's just a question of how busy the bunny was and whether anyone else had answered him more. Hopefully the answers were very and several so he'd just give a couple of friendly stabs and hop on along to go after bigger targets.
and at the level the adventurers were, he needed it, and still lost
it was my first time GMing though
So just how long did Bun Bun put you in the hospital for this?
You just know that SOMEONE is going to go "Wait, Naurelin seems to do well with other dragons - let's have HER see about socializing this one!"
Murphy works in mysterious ways.
Did you make the correct offering after you set him up to lose? Twelve bottles of 151 rum and the complete DVD boxed set Baywatch series directors cut. ;)
Yeah, that should be enough to keep it down to something a few weeks in the hospital will treat.
welcome, sit back, have a drink and a smile, and wait with the rest of us for that marvelous (Scaly) footage
"Roll that beautiful bean dragon footage." I don't like baked beans but I do miss those ads. They were at least amusing even if you didn't want the product.
I totally understand where you're coming from. Having done that more than a few times, I call the phenomenon "Binge Read Whiplash". ;)
Annoyingly Binge Read Whiplash doesn't seem to be covered by insurance.
Started on the first yesterday afternoon. Probably start on the second after finishing the few chapters of the first. Then probably back to my binge read of the SV Harry and the Shipgirls thread. And maybe get some writing in.
So, my bud turned me on to Dungeon Dad's pieces on YouTube including the man's renovations of things like DRAGON Magazine's old Worstiary.
The old Dragon magazine was such a treasure for things like those. You had serious articles, humorous articles, a bit of fiction, so much great stuff. Blogs and YouTube have pretty much taken on the role but I miss the old Dragon.
Here's the thing... any plant(s). This is so, so ready for abuse. And whatever the plant, the Chia Golem is truly loyal to the grove and druidic circle. I immediately thought of the Coffee Chia Golem for keeping the Grove druids alert and any enemies frenzied and prone to heart attacks.
So many possibilities. There are the obvious (poison ivy and fantasy equivalents, various carnivorous plants, etc). But what about healing herb Chia Golems as a healing assistant. Or picking plants that can absorb things like heavy metals to undo damage done by ignorant or uncaring city/townsfolk/miners. You could have a bean plant or potato Chia Golem that half buries itself for a season then climbs out and dumps its harvested contaminants in a specific location (or this could make for an interesting bit of background activity in a post-magic apocalypse setting in which extreme combat magic was thrown around all over the place).
I'll be honest, I had to look up what you might have been referring to. That said, this sounds like a potentially bad idea. Either it's an Annette who never met Danny Hebert, or you'd be depriving some other Taylor her mother. Why would you do that?
That was me out of character
Kryslin and Spirit sat at the back of the large hall, having decided
"Shame about the battledress having to be evaluated by the convention staff," Spirit murmured.
"I think they were more concerned about the FGMP," Kryslin added. "Looked too authentic. One of the weapons check people must have experience with military weapons, because he'd picked up that it had been used from the discoloration on the muzzle."
Can someone tell me what they are from and if possible give me a link?
