One of my many hobbies is that of 3D CGI - I'm competent, but not good enough to hold a job in a very cut throat field (both employers and employees). I rendered my avatar image, and did most of the technical work (rigging, fur/hair, lighting and rendering) I can model, though I'm much better at non-organic things; I have a fairly realistic kitchen set that looks like a product display.

Said dragongirl is former Hololive virtual Youtube host Kiryu Coco, who ran a morning live stream event, where she'd usually start off with the aforementioned greeting. I managed to snag a MMD (Miku Miku Dance, a neat little Real Time 3D Animation package) model of Coco, and have been making steady progress towards converting the model over to my 3D software of choice (Lightwave 3D).

I have been slowly overcoming many technical hurdles in the process (still have a few more to jump, mainly related to rigging the model for Lightwave, and materials issues - the MMD model has 51 materials defined, I can get it down to 17-20.)

Kiryu Coco and a travelling companion may make a Sidestory appearance during the in-story summer. Which will probably occur in the depths of winter here in the central US...

Interesting. I look forward to it.

Based on your description I feel like that's a full sized person, but my brain is a strange place so now I'm going to inflict this on you.

I just had the image of a tiny little dragon, small enough to ride a shoulder, a cute little thing that would make Disney jealous. Popping up from behind Taylor's shoulder one morning while she's on the DWU premises with a cheery greeting of "'Morning motherfuckers!" followed by a host of dockworkers split between the urge to coo over it, or teach it more foul language.

For those who have somehow avoided the vtuber rabbit hole, Coco does indeed typically appear in a human form. Here's an image.

And here is a fan's drawing of her dragon form.

Finally, here is her dragon form as depicted in the Hololive Alternative PV.
Any questions, motherfuckers?

Nope, no questions here, nosiree. One little thing though, the third image didn't load properly for me until I opened it in a new tab on my browser. Other than that though, three ver nice images. 👍

Um, Coco? Your human form needs a bit of work. Humans do not come with horns as factory standard.

In terms of Fantasy shape shifting monsters, 'human form' generally equates to 'humanoid'.

Much like all the rubber forehead aliens of Star Trek, shape shifting critters generally leave a clue to their origins on their forms. Usually an ear modifcation. Ears and a tail are very common. Horns for horned monsters, also quite expected.

I hate it when I make mistakes, but at least I'm consistent ("Consistently bad, and consistently worse." :) )

When writing for the next chapter, I discovered that our cast somehow traveled back in time two weeks.

<Sigh>

To mangle the quote from Flesh Gordon : "Author's work is never done." (That's not a mispelling, BTW...)

Re : Kiryu Coco - Based on the model and what I've seen of her YT segments, I think some of the limits of whatever software they were using is that there's no complex animation capabilities. That adds another 3-4 hours of sculpting facial expressions (mouth, eyes, etc.). It's an interesting challenge, but I think I'll do what MMD does and rely on Bullet dynamics for animating the hair and frills.

I mean, there are two different, main ways of making Vtuber models.

One involves layering a crapload of 2D planes on top of each other, and then adding facial tracking and some minor camera-based motion tracking features, along with faked physics.
The other involves taking an actual 3D model and attaching its skeleton, including the facial skeleton, to a camera-based motion tracking system.

I think that you'd have more luck with the latter.

I've got a model, I have a skeleton, and one thing I'm fairly good at is rigging/skinning. It should take me 2-3 hours to rig Coco. It'll take me longer to set up the dynamics (gravity and motion) effects on the hair, skirt, and ruffs.

Don't forget to make her assets bouncy! ;)

Oh yes, can't forget that now can we. That would ruin everything now wouldn't it. ;)😁

Gotta draw attention to those Dragon Cups!

Lewd! I need an adult! Wait a minute, I am an adult! Woe, woe is me! :)

Now that I think about it...

Wouldn't Coco take over the ABB, considering her other job? You know, the one with the yakuza.

Wonder how well she'd get on with Lung and his daughter?

So long as Lung shows the proper respect, I doubt there'd be too many problems. Of course, if this was canon Brockton Bay, there'd be much burninating of sections of the town as Coco teaches Lung about respect. This being Scaling Up's AU, she'd have to find Lung first, then deal with Sun Wukong/Son Goku. Takara would probably make some comment about Coco's assets, typical of kids in anime. Then there'd be burninating and rehydration and Kaiju... Oh My!

! I need an adult! Wait a minute, I am an adult! Woe, woe is me!

Swear to god I literally had one of those moments in the past.

I forget the exact circumstances, but I remember looking up, seeking the authority figure, and then my brain basically rebooting as I went. "Holy shit, I'm the responsible adult in the room. How the hell did that happen?" It was a really surreal experience.

"Sora-Paisen said humans would think it's just cosplay, so I'm safe."

GOD FUCKING DAMMIT! Why is my keyboard the one that's always hijacked by characters?
Because you interact with godesses and reality warpers quite often. After all Inari seems to love your keyboard.
