On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Well, we might just not need to give the Griffons weapons and armor now!

Aside from their elites.

...Hm, now I want to name them. taps fingers.

...Eh, nah, back to having Ungrim Ironfist slaughter literally a thousand skaven in one fight.

If it does turn out that we don't need to do Weaponized Wings, then that just leaves these requests:

[ ] [Simple] Warded Aeries: [Cost: 2 actions] Productivity Like No Other will proc.

[ ] [Difficult] A Princely Panoply Pt. 1: Otrek has come to you with a minor request, seeking your expertise in armouring the scions of the King of the Skies in fine Gromril armour capable of keeping the Griffon's legacy alive as a gift to be given. He who Thinks and He who Remembers have different philosophies over the kind of armour they want. The former wants to retain his speed and dexterity while the latter wishes to improve his already formidable endurance and toughness. a multi-work project. [Cost: 1 action] If a rune you want requires special ingredients that you don't have access to I will alert you. Choose 2.
- [ ] Choose: choose three runes you want on the weapon.
- [ ] Theme: write in a theme for the weapon. (I will roll to see if you find a new combo)
- [ ] GM: Leave it to the GM. (I will roll to see if you find a new combo)

[ ] [Difficult] Write in, A Miner's Brother Pt. 1: [Cost: 1 action] If a rune you want requires special ingredients that you don't have access to I will alert you.

[] Whatever action has to do with the Healing Vents.

So, basically one griffon related Simple request.

I feel like a focus on everything but the healing vents would be best, get them out of the way, and then tackle the vents and more with a clearer mind and plate

I still don't see making hundreds of limbs worthwhile.
I am on the opposite side of the debate with this. It's one of the best things we could do to aid the restoration.
Not to mention this is a place where our traits truly shine.
It's an odd rune, which makes it likely that its rare, so probably only Yorri and Snorri can make it.
Snorri's earth mover trait makes this fodder for a new Epic deed.

So, have we reached any sort of consensus on what to ask for our boon? Obviously KotS feathers factor in there somewhere, but what, if anything, else?

Well, this has alot of pushback when it was raised, but I would like to emulate Master Yorri and secure from the Griffons the right to hire a Griffon for exploration and transportation at a fair price. Not keeping a Griffon as a pet , rather, being able to go down the Eyrie and hire/rent the services of a Griffon for aerial scouting whenever we are doing outdoor activities like looking at Odd places, or maybe for air-freight of our orders from distant holds.

After all, our master travelled around on a Griffon... and even if we aren't as odd enough to do what Yorri did, if it's good enough for our Master, it is good enough for us.

hmmm KOTS feathers should be even better now that he evolved right?

I would actually prefer a continual boon that can be cashed in at reasonable rates over time, then a one-off good. Does the KOTS shed feathers naturally? If so, asking for the shedding of his feathers might provide us with a steady KOTS feather income.

But I'd prefer something like the assured right to hire the services of Griffons for private jobs (which our hold is already doing, but a personal access to hiring Griffon couriers would be nice), or something that at least is inspired by Master Yorri riding into Kraka Drak on the KoTS, precisely because it's something more interesting than just a one-off ingredient. If our King has arranged for Girffons to work side by side with Dwarfs, why not embrace the ways of our home, as the boon we ask for, for our armor?

I'm up for anything for the boon, as long as the boon isn't wholly something we immediately use in his armour. I really don't like the idea of doing that. The griffons are cool, but come on now.

I'd be open to both of these. I've mentioned before that I'm pretty sure KotS has some sort of innate magic sense - he might know of further 'odd places' we can explore.

Enjoy it while you can. The Green Tide approaches.
Uh, about that, the Orcs are literally extinct in that go. I genocided literally every greenskin on the planet in this play, the Skaven are down to Hell Pit, and I'm busy fighting Malus in the jungle island places for being a Elgi. The High Elves, I dunno, I'm being a properly insular Dawi, and the Empire...

Well with me taking out the Vampires around turn 60, and it being 127?

Eight stacks are sitting inside the Chaos Wastes quite literally farming the Doom Tide, the infinite hordes of Chaos spilling from literally the mouth of literal hell, for XP. Franz and Gelt at the tip.

If you'd like more details, PM me, it's not quite relevant to thread.

This isn't bad at all, actually, the constant feather supply would make for great rune material. We know that Ebonbeak's feathers make Rangers sneaky on par with Runes.

Can we really let some fluffy bird outdo proper Runecraft?

Blessed. Thoroughly, thoroughly blessed. RIP Malus though. His start is terrible.

It's easy to forget that Dolgi is actually above-average in talent, and that he reinforces his talent by an uncommonly productive work ethic.

He also seems to have become a bit of a griffon-whisperer behind the scenes.

I look forward to seeing what kind of deeds he accomplishes in the future, as well as hearing more about his griffon adventures when his journeyship comes to an end.

I wonder if Dolgi will end up creating Master Rune of Griffons.

Effect - Combines Rune of Flight, Rune of Lightning, and Rune of Coming to the Rescue of Distressed Beardlings Who Have Gotten Themselves Into Trouble While Out On Their Journeyman Quest.
