[ ] Muna: The Taming of Freedfire (Grants Wildfire Hugareida)

Remember folks, we're getting Alloys soon.

@Imperial Fister, what kind of Alloys would we get out of having Wildfire And Ignition?

Also, lol, the bonus dice saved our ass here apparently.

How strong would Ignition become if improved? Could we get a comparison between the Ignition we have now and an improved Ignition? @Imperial Fister

Also, if I remember correctly, Firestorm is just Wildfire, but like... more. With elemnts of Ignition also added in.

Firestorm is what you get from Alloying Wildfire and Ignition.

Nice, I guess that's "Wildfire but even more?" or is it something else? Wildfire I think you said is good about projected and sustained fire magic?

Does sound powerful though.

Actually,, do Alloys combine the benefits from both Hugareida together or just take the highest? If that's the case, we might want to take the Ignition boost anyway and then go for the Campfire Alloys to get access to Wildfire and Forgefire. Especially if Ignition's new secondary effects would be good stuff (Like how we are able to extend our Standstill enough to protect others, and our IATs are strong enough to hold even superior opponents for a time)

I'll probably vote for improved Ignition. Alloying is tempting as hell but we've got a good trick loadout right now -mostly we're missing a defensive option for the Owl.

[ ] Muna: The Taming of Freedfire (Grants Wildfire Hugareida)

Another base for fire alloying!

One action I'd like to write in:
[] Teach Stig the explosive pottery runecraft (for exploding arrow tips) and ask about the runes in his bow.

Yeah, basically, I want to be informed, and on a meta level, having Blackhand with "ALL the Fire Hugareida" should mean we've got a pretty good understanding of what various kinds are good at.

So being able to tell the difference between what Ignition 2 would give us vs having access to Wildfire (And afterwards, Firestorm through the Alloy) would help us be informed. Like, if Ignition 2 would help Kindle-Spinner and Firebomb-Strike outpace just normal attack Tricks and would mean we can effectively still get Rank 2 Forgefire or Wildfire through Alloys would be a godsend. But if Firestorm is that good, we might still want to push for it even at the cost of further strength.

Beyond that? We want to spend some time doing some research, and probably get the rest of our household involved in what we've discovered as well. See if there's any differences in the state of their Soul Spaces.

In fact, let me draw up a Research Itinerary.

2d6 instead of 1d6. Not super amazing now, but it rapidly gets better.

Anything else is cosmetic and flavor. I'm kind of regretting doing the secondary stuff for Standstill as I simply can't remember to include them when doing stuff like combat, which results in me unintentionally cheating you.

Firestorm is for when you want to delete the grid square that somebody is in (hyperbole) but it literally is incapable of precision work at all. You can't create a 'small firestorm', go big or go home!

Creates something new. Well, 'new'.
By previous stuff and the character sheet, this should only be 3 successes needed, not 5.
Correct, have a reward dice

I was under the impression that Wildfire was an alloy of Hearthfire and Ignition. I... feel like these Muna are basically just "have some freebie training". Is that accurate, or am I just totally not getting it somehow?

There are no hugareida that are purely Alloys. Alloying is a way to get your hands on hugareida that you don't have yet, more or less.

Also, getting muna is the only way to improve Hugareida. Campfire is the exception.

Alectai's Wonderful Research Itinerary!
1) See if you can Weave Virthing and Saemd together in advance, and store the finished product in your Soul Space while what's in your Aspects recovers. The Major Risk only seems to appear when the Gate is opened and your Aspects are depleted after all. Do not Burn your Aspects in tandem though, we are just checking if we can store the longer lasting bits in our soul space long enough to draw a line between them and our actual Aspects.
2) Share some of our Odr with the Hearthroot in our Soul Space, we have a field, let's try to farm it and see what happens!
3) Bring our household in on what we've discovered so far. Help them recreate our initial experiment where we discovered the Gate. Keep it to generalities in case that matters, but see if they see anything different then we did. Strictly warn them not to introduce Frami into it! as that's not something we've figured out how to stop safely on our own yet, and we're not inclined to start playing around with it until the babies are born and we've figured out how to stop it from burning out of control on purpose, instead of by accident.
4) We should keep studying the Bible, maybe 2 dice here to make further progress?

Anyway, it looks like Wildfire's a bit too spicy a meatball for us in our current state. Let's stick with the Ignition buff.

Campfire + Ignition gets Forgefire, and I think we only get a limited number of Alloys. Also, raising the level of a Hugareida cannot be done by training...though it usually doesn't cost a Muna 'slot' if our standstill improvement is anything to go by.

@Imperial Fister would improving our Ignition cost a Muna slot or would it merge with our existing Ignition Muna?

I'm down for the first two, I think the third is highly premature until we know more and we have too many urgent things to train to put more than one die towards the Bible. I'd seriously consider dropping it entirely if I wasn't worried about offending Jerasmus.

TBH, I think there might be useful hints in there once we get past that early portions. Either way, it's useful to know the story behind our neighbors, you know? Even if we don't get free power out of it.

But yeah, that's fine. 3 Research dice then? We should probably spend a decent chunk on Hamr in hopes of locking in Hamr 6 in time for the Murderkittens. We also need to finally open the god damned meteorite.

I'm also keen on learning some forging Tricks from Sten as well. Though priorities...

Hey, @Imperial Fister , did we manage to get Gabriel's sword back after Steinarr settled down a bit? If there's still a bit of questing behind that, we should absolutely prepare for him a weapon to tide him over in the meantime.

[X] Muna: The Taming of Freedfire Alt (Improves Ignition Hugareida)

Okay, here's my plan:

[X] Plan Opening The Meteor

-[X] (Personal) Spend time with...
--[X] Stigandr
--[X] Invite him to spar and train with the rest of us
--[X] Make it clear he is always welcome to come stay with us no matter what
-[X] (Personal) Spend time with...(again)
--[X] Aki
--[X] Also invite him to spar and train with the rest of us
-[X] (Exploration) Go on a walk through...
--[X] The hills!
---[X] (Optional) Towards where the flaming thing landed. Maybe there's something you missed?
---[X] Get Sten and Aki and Gabriel and everyone's help to finally open the meteor

Surplus:
-[X] Make a sacrifice to the Gods (+1 Hamingja for 40 Food)
-[X] Donate to a family in need (+1 Drengskapr for 12 Food)

Training:
-[X] (Research)
--[X] See if you can Weave Virthing and Saemd together in advance, and store the finished product in your Soul Space while what's in your Aspects recovers. The Major Risk only seems to appear when the Gate is opened and your Aspects are depleted after all. Do not Burn your Aspects in tandem though, we are just checking if we can store the longer lasting bits in our soul space! 1d6
--[X] Share some of our Odr with the Hearthroot in our Soul Space, we have a field, let's try to farm it and see what happens! 1d6
--[X] Do more bible reading with Jerasmus 1d6
-[X] (Blackhand's Training) Try to develop old/train new hugareida tricks (Write in)
--[X] Train Kindle-Spinner 2d6 (1d6)
--[X] Train Firebomb-Strike 2d6 (1d6)
--[X] Train Ember-Winged Cloak 2d6 (1d6)
--[X] Train Campfire 2d6 (1d6)
-[X] (Training) Tricks
--[X] Train Sidestep 1d6
--[X] Train Magnify-Sight 1d6
--[X] Train a Trick to deal a lot of damage...on par with Leaping Cleave but with fewer drawbacks and maybe without the defense stripping or a higher cost. Just a high damage attack, probably using Pierce 1d6
--[X] Train some sort of active persuasion-based Silver-Tongue Trick...something that will let us put extra dice into persuasion attempts like we did with the troll (without needing to activate our Twist) 1d6
--[X] Train a Composure Trick to resist mental or emotional influences that Hallr can't help us with (ie: things to induce 'hot' emotions) 1d6
--[X] Train 'Teaching' Wordplay Skill-Trick 1d6
--[X] Train 'Tracking' Wildcraft Skill-Trick 1d6
-[X] (Training) Hamr (3 successes to rank up)
--[X] Train Hamr itself 6d6
-[X] (Training) Hugr (30 successes to rank up)
--[X] Train Armorcraft 1d6
--[X] Train Barb-Tongue 1d6
--[X] Train Housecraft 1d6
--[X] Train Scouting 1d6
--[X] Train Silver-Tongue 1d6
--[X] Train Weaponcraft 1d6
--[X] Train Wildcraft 1d6
--[X] Train Wordplay 1d6
-[X] (Training) Fylgja (14 success to rank up)
--[X] Train Fylgja Itself 1d6

Management:
-[X] Management
--[X] (Construction) Improve Decent House 1d6
--[X] (Multicraft) Make Meat-Keeping Sticks 11d6
--[X] (Multicraft) Make Exploding Charms 5d6
--[X] (Fields) Clear Fields 11d6 (6d6 from Scythe and Plow, +2 Successes from Ox)
--[X] (Resources) Cloth 8d6 (3d6 from Wood Axe)

Orthstirr:
-[X] (Orthstirr Usage)
--[X] 5/6 Hamr (Depending on whether Hamr rises)
---[X] 4 Chop, 4 Defend, 4 Dodge, 4 Glima, 3 Bash, 3 Pierce, 3 Throw, 2 Labor, 3 Overland (30 total)
--[X] 6 Hugr
---[X] 3 Composure, 4 Housecraft, 2 Management, 3 Scouting, 3 Silver-Tongue, 3 Strategy, 3 Tactics, 4 Wordplay, 4 Wildcraft (29 total)
--[X] 4 Fylgja
--[X] 1 First Impression
--[X] 166/165 free for tricks (Depending on whether Hamr rises)

For Hamingja and Drengskapr, at these prices they're something we should always invest in...we'll revisit that later if prices escalate. For actions, I'd like to craft, but the idea of inviting Stigandr to spar seemed amazing and leaving Aki out seemed bad the very next instant...and of course we're gonna finally open the meteor.

For Management, remember we have 6 dice next turn that can't really be used for anything but clearing the fields, which is why I didn't put more there.

For Training, we need to get Hamr up over the hump, have research topics as discussed, are working on our Crafting skills and Ignition Tricks, and need to finish off Teaching. For the new Tricks...these are the areas that the last few turns have shown us to be weak in...we need active social tricks (both offensive and defensive) for our eventual court case, a higher damage attack that doesn't leave us open defensively, and Tracking to better find Horra's sanctum.

Originally it was more of a subaction of gathering people to teach and be taught by (or more: have our kids taught by), but though the rune exchange could fit well as standalone.
Another Part of that would be to get Drifa started on poetry. Maybe start it with a story of us telling the felag poems and how it motivated the felag in the manor raid (tie the thing to teach to her interests)

I'd seriously consider dropping it entirely if I wasn't worried about offending Jerasmus.
If it offends Jerasmus we can ask Gabriel later.

He did.

Voting is now open

Yay! Now we've gotten him back all the stuff he lost as thanks for what he's going to help us out with.

EDIT: Oh yeah, does the upgraded Ignition mean our Ignition Tricks will hit harder too?
