Ooh, fun.
Is this a troll from the trip Steinarr took, seeking revenge for those killed?

Sure, I'll put in an option. Can we combine the second and fourth options? There are seven of us, so studying the scorn-pole and setting traps seems like we could do both, especially since I'm not sure how many of us can even read runes?
Sure, I'll put in an option.
The studying would consist of you all working together to decipher the meaning. You don't need to read runes in order to have them read to you and everyone understands how poetry works.
i just skimmed, because i was just about to go to sleep, but i will throw in my bonus dice to studying the runes in either option if its allowed.
No rolls when it comes to reading runes. I give you a time limit and you have that long to figure it out. At the end, I reveal what you got right and what you got wrong. The half-n-half halves the time limit. This is actually a really good question. In the rune-reading options, what determines success? Is there a roll or what, and if so a roll of what?
Thank you!I really loved the poetic description of the war-party by the way!

That's one way of doing it.
The other is that the focused option is guaranteed, while the half-n-half is a coin flip
Sure!Maybe if we have trouble the other party members can give hints?
I was planning on giving you a day for focused. Probably 2–4 hours on half-n-halfAny hints on the time limit? Our protagonists definitely know how long until sunset in-universe, at least roughly.

Together, you march to save your father and his home.
No matter what may be set before you, you won't be returning home empty-handed.
[x] Study the scorn-pole's runes before making any further action.
I'm very curious about what's actually going on.
I'd be fine with splitting, but generally not a huge fan of trying to do two things at once in quests.
Hell yeahWow, the beginning of that update felt like the beginning of a fairy tale. I liked it alot.
The runes are a new addition. And sure, there's no way he'd refuse you. Also, off-topic, but I wasn't aware that Stigr's bow has runes carved into it. Would it be possible for us to study the runes carved into it after this is done?
I appreciate you!Well thats fucking badass, thanks for the songwriting material, I appreciate it.
Wow, the beginning of that update felt like the beginning of a fairy tale. I liked it alot. As for the options.... honestly, I'm undecided. I'm honedtly not sure if we can take a Troll, given our showing against the Squire. Granted, it was a Squire and 2 other cultivators, but I still wouldn't want to fight a Knight tier enemy. I'm inclined to go for the study or trap option, so I'll just vote for both.
[X] Part of the band lays traps outside the troll's cave while the other study the runes
Eh fine, four hours is probably doable. Unless it's like the one on the clay charm
Ehh, we solved half of it quickly. The "black man's end" took QM intervention and "low-tide's gift" took several rounds of guess-and-check.The clay charm's big issue is we didn't actually know it was a puzzle we had to solve out-of-universe. Once we started actively working on it, we figured it out pretty quick.
Sten, at least, is a scarier dude than we had with us on the raid, I believe, and we have Gabriel kitted out in full armor as well (who may not be quite as badass as the squire we fought, but should be very helpful nonetheless), and we are 7 vs. 1 here rather than the 5 vs. 3 we were on the raid.
But yes, I'd prefer to avoid a stand-up fight with the troll anyway.
[X] Part of the band lays traps outside the troll's cave while the other study the runes
I mean, yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm fairly sure we could beat the troll without anyone dying. But we also thought that about the Squire, and he ended up body killing Audrikr, and we didn't even kill the kid. That doesn't make our squad any less killy, as Sten is really strong, and Gabriel is no slouch either and top it all off he's in his armour. But I'd rather not risk it, if it's all the same to you.
