Put some rags so we can launch a surprise attack (or at least be a little more difficult to be found and then ambushed)?

Doesn't work that way. Covered in Rags protects you from incidental detection, but doesn't do anything against directed scrutiny. It's about being Beneath Notice, not being completely invisible.

Also, I edited my plan to lay out our spare blades and let Gabriel pick the one that he likes best for this, rather than just forcing him to pick one.

Also, can we ask Sten to play more defensively, because if our theory is correct he is going to be prime target for a lotta stuff.

Also has anyone noticed that every time we foil one of Horra's schemes we get Hamingja? The Gods are lowkey pissed a.f at Horra.

Honestly, I get the feeling that Asveig has been doing more than any of us knew to block Horra. She was probably a no-shit Seidr Master, and she didn't tell us because Halla stubbornly insisted on staying on the 'Male' Track, when Seidr is supposed to be a 'Female' Art. We saw after all that she had Strong Feelings about Gender Roles after all, even if she ultimately accepted that Halla wanted to be on the punchyfist route in the end.

The fact that things escalated so fast after she was hurt from the bad birth is telling.

Fair, sword choice added to my plan as well.

Goes back to my previous 'nid is the Gods disapproval' thing, plus he's using foreign magic to corrupt the land. Yeah, I imagine they're annoyed.

Aki could help us with aerial reconnaissance

Aki is 12, I'm disinclined to bring him in for something we could do ourselves if it wasn't so risky (ie: fylgja aerial scouting).

Aki's not of age yet. He just hit the level where Halla started learning to fight. Taking him into a place aimed at killing a grown-ass man like Sten is courting death.

What even is the difference between our Plans anyway at this point?

Boys typically start learning how to fight a bit earlier than 12. And everyone knows how to wrestle.

Also, I'd like to note that Aki's fylgja is a War-Raven, though Ravens are typically not suited for direct combat, he still chose to guide his Fylgja down that path.

I don't think Nid is really divine disapproval. For example, Dressed in Rags procs Nid, but only if people laugh at us. Divine disapproval probably comes in the form of your Hamingja disappearing. Or at least making it nigh impossible to get Hamingja.

Huh, interesting.

We can give him an offer then if he wants to be our eyes in the sky. Would probably do wonders to avoid any possible ambushes, and if his Fylgja is that beefy, it might be able to provide some significant air support too.

Like, we shouldn't demand it, but if he feels up to giving us some support, we'll happily welcome him in. We saw after all how badass a strong flying Fylgja can be in a raid party, and if he was strong enough to already have it as a War-Raven when we fought that Slagson guy, he might actually have it in its evolved form by now.

I think the big benefit of Aki coming along is that he can see spirits, curses and stuff.

I mean, the Gods do pretty clearly disapprove of dishonor and being shamed, which is sort of what that would fall under.

We can invite him along if he's interested, I suppose. I'm still a bit reluctant to involve him given his age and such, but if he wants to be involved...

We'll take him if he wants to go, he deserves a chance to get some Orthstirr as well, and aerial support as well as his Sensitivity to spooky shit would be a boon.

We can probably protect one direct non-combattant, especially if they bring a valuable asset to the table, not even counting apparently an A-10 Swordraven.

Honestly, Aki himself should probably wait at the farm with Halfdan, sending his Raven with us...we'd bring him if we needed to, but with a nearby safe-ish location that lets us communicate back to the farm it seems a waste not to have him there.

I'm not sure he appreciates being treated as an invalid, but he's free to contribute how he wants, he may not be Of Age, but he's still a badass in his own way.

I was honestly more thinking the second part, where having him in one place and his fylgja in the other would be super useful for any necessary coordination.

End of the day, he's our friend, not our soldier, we'll send the offer but he knows himself better than anyone else.

Have you adjusted your Plan at this point?

[X] Gather your kin and kith and go hunt down the source of this evil
-[X] Bring Abjorn, Gabriel, and the Brothers Stig with you and Sten. Offer an invitation to Aki to come along--you got a good example of how helpful a strong Fylgja can be during the Raid, and you've never seen someone with better ability given his age--even if all it can contribute is its eyes in the sky and Aki's own cleverness and sensitivity to more esoteric things, it'll be a boon for tracking the source of the Curse quickly. As for yourself... You know your condition well, you'll come along and do your best to provide ranged and defensive support with your Hugareida rather than immediately charge in, but you won't rule out taking attacks of opportunity if you think you can tilt the scales safely.
-[X] Send a runner to Halfdan's Farm, ask him to protect your home while you're busy investigating this Curse issue, you don't want to leave anything to chance with this kind of sorcery in play.
-[X] Lay out our backup swords, let Gabriel borrow whichever one he thinks is best.

I think we've got a final draft here. Getting the Whole Gang together for one big impromptu Raid Party and calling on the bonds we've forged and the alliances we've made so far.

Sure, that works.

You know, I just realized, our Raid Party brings an Auspicious Number of Bodies.

Aki, Halla, and Abjorn each have Awakened Fylgja, and we have 6 participants too. 9 Bodies, Auspicious indeed. Even if Halla and Abjorn's aren't really developed enough to directly participate in battle.

Hmm, I wonder how we'll get more magical plants to cultivate? I don't think we'll be able to get the seeds of the heart plant out of our inner world, can we?

We'll need to be very careful, I suspect Magical Plans require a certain amount of Odr as upkeep (Though probably generate something in turn, or at least can be tapped later for big boosts), and until we've got a way to reliably generate it without taking life-or-death risks, every drop of Odr is precious.
