Ah, but there could be Bear culture if we got enough bears of differing cultures to form a community, and give them a few generations for their cultures to intermingle and mutate into something new!Animals of a culture follow that culture's cultivation method. There isn't any such thing as 'bear cultivation' because there isn't a 'bear culture'.
This isn't necessary right now. I recommend holding on to those for the update.

In the discord we talked about Iceland at length today. Big important points;
The first settlement of Iceland will begin during our second generation. We will have the ability to join those settlements, and help tame the untamed wilderness of critters and monsters that is Iceland.
There is enough story involved in this that IF would rather it be an Iceland Or Constantinople life; not a Constantinople and then Iceland life.
Iceland is full of critters that we could not even imagine and will be really cool.
Iceland did not, irl, have Jarls or Kings, and instead had Godis, who were democratically elected leaders of men with the job of representing their people in court, gathering men to defend their people, and similar, but could be replaced by the will of the people. People could also freely move to be under another Godis without being able to be punished for it.
The Iceland info has gotten me, personally, really interested in Hallbjorn Saga as our NQ2. He's a leader, a builder, and a socialite. Having him join in the founding of the new society that is Iceland would be really cool, and the dangers of Wilderness means despite lacking something like Wanderlust, we would be forced to adventure frequently.
With Iceland being time limited to beginning, it feels like being on the first wave would be the best thing to do, if we wanna do it. It'd be a huge adventure, a big shift in tone, and a journey far away from home - and a chance to explore new mysteries and what it means for Norse and Norse culture.
I know a lot of people are extremely set on the Varangian guard, they wanna become cool as heck like Steinnar. But discovering new things is... also really cool. And we might be able to steer the Norse society on Iceland towards better things, if that's a goal we want.
Iceland was founded as a rejection of things on the mainland. Whose to say we couldn't make it even more of a rejection. No thralls, no Ergi maybe. Perhaps not instantly, but if we are one of the first? One of the founders? One of the most talented and trusted amongst them?
It's at least a tempting option.
I am not sure abaout Hallbjorn begin the one to do it. I mean, it sounds like he would probably be the more fitting for the job. But i still personaly like Sigurdr or Steinulfr more.
given the veil of Iceland, I feel like one of the twins might be better for the Iceland option. they lean more into the seer stuff and fit it better then Hallbjorn
well, if so what about Evyor? not sure she fits Iceland, but if we go Varangian she can work pretty well I think
btw is the sheet updated with the orthstirr we got last update?
Steinulfr is a valid choice (and where I'm likely leaning at the moment, or Asveig of course, one of the twins), but Sigurdr isn't good for Iceland because he needs to travel. A lot. He won't be staying there and that's...problematic. The Varangian option works well for him because it's far away, and the Varangians travel, but the Iceland option is a terrible match for him.
Basically, Hallbjorn only works for Iceland, not the Varangians and Sigurdr only works for the Varangians, not Iceland. The twins work well for either, at least potentially.
I prefet Steinulfr just for the sake of changing things, since we already played a female character.
