When the Dagger of Mortis managed to cut through all those protections that Talzin had and rendered her powerless, all I could think of was Kreia saying that Jedi rely too much on the force and are nothing without it.

What did HK do in the fight or was he merely there?

He wasn't; I had him there in an earlier draft but I scrapped his appearance when I realized he wouldn't have really added anything (sadly). I thought I edited that out, but it looks like said edits were in one of the versions that got eaten.

Anyway. Sorry for that bit of confusion, it was definitely unintentional.

Poor HK didn't get to assassinate a powerful Force-user yet again...

Oh boy. If HK gets anymore upset the Galaxy will have another Droid Rebellion.
"But he is programmed to be loyal!" - "His ANGER at not getting to assasinate people supercedes any loyalty!"

This whole conversation has made me realize that almost every time so far that there's been a chance for HK to actually assassinate a Force-user there's been some extenuating circumstance to keep him from doing it:

Sev'rance: Too conspicuous, would have made Maul/Savage suspicious during op
Savage/Maul: Busy with the Foundry Raid
Dark Acolytes: Would have drawn too much attention in the Undercity/wasn't able to arrive in time
Sora Bulq: Assisted kill, so there's that at least. Would have preferred to be fully responsible for it but...
Talzin: Unable to respond in time due to constraints of situation

On the one hand I feel bad, on the other it is kind of hilarious in its own way.

ahhh the joys of making someone like Talzin want to shit themselves in terror at our special knife, Also Asaji admitted to considering Ciaran a sister, OUT LOUD and everything. so that means along with annoy Padme and Obiwan options we need to add annoy Asaji to the list as well

Talzin is like the Star Wars universe's textbook definition of a glass cannon

Hey in the Foundry there twas that huge mass of Evil Energy that he got to kill.

So are we taking Obi wan and the other two to Home Base to discuss with Darth Money Bags?

I assumed he was busy killing Old Daka.

There's only two way this can end now. he's either gonna fail utterly and cement his fate for the rest of time or he's gonna release his frustration in such an explosive manner, there won't be even a molecule left of his target.

Them meeting 'the WORST Sith ever' would be amusing to say the least.

"Oh. So she finally decided to bring Jedi here. Hmph. Very well, I'll tolerate your presence. Don't touch anything, and don't scuff the carpet."

"...That's still a far more civil greeting than I was expecting, honestly..."

as much fun as it would be to bring obi-wan to Darth moneybags place it'd probably be even better if Anakin just pops up to join in for the conversation ya know cuz that's just how he rolls these days.

Whoa! I've finally made it to the end of this quest! It's awesome! The characters, the canon derailment! The thought that Palpatine will be pulling his hair out in frustration about Ciaran's antics! And now I'll keep up with it until the end!

Also, thanks @Dr. Snark for the excellent story and thanks @Teron for starting it all!

Every time I hear this I think of a Sith version of the Spyro character with the same name.
I think of a Sith version of the Monopoly guy. Inside his cane is his 'Get out of Jail' lightsaber.

"oh no, to not have a whiny droid keep asking me when it get too kill some one. however will i live with that"

i`m sure he could amuse himself by killing of lower level treats just to keep him buzy

I don't know, having HK remove any number of Palpatine's political supporters, off or on Coruscant, might prove enough of a challenge to keep him satisfied. Minimum collateral, no affiliation to us, quiet in public, as loud as he wants in 'private'. He shouldn't be too connected to us as his only known appearance was helping fight off the pursuit of Anakin's padawan. Right?
