I thought we were going to use the Foundry to provide a good chunk of our troops for our invasion of Coruscant to assassinate Palpatine.
I mean, It's better used making entire fleets, rather than just ground troops. I imagine a few million vulture droids smashing into his office will overwhelm the shields eventually.
 
I mean, it's an 'asteroid' base that's a more effective factory, with lower cost/upkeep and higher output, than anything we have on the Kiln. Yes, we'll need to do some repairs -- and we'll need to supply the raw material, since the asteroid field has apparently been depleted -- but that's its function. As far as I can do tell, Anything we can use droids for -- and not just battle droids, but mining droids, protocol droids, astromech droids, even droid starfighters -- we can build on the Foundry.

This might also include larger starships -- like the Crusader or the Katana Fleet.

Even if we don't need to use this new droid army/fleet for war directly, we still have options -- like selling some of the droids to the Chiss for their war against the Killiks (and against Mnggal-Mnggal, since I don't recall if the Lovecraftian horror can 'eat' non-organic bodies). Likewise, we can design and build civilian droid models that can be used outside of combat. We can use the Foundry for deterrence -- the galaxy is a big place, so keep the factory lines running and just 'store' everything we build in some obscure system far away from everywhere else, but be ready to bring it to the fight when the time comes.

The Foundry is and isn't a game-changer. It doesn't change the make-up of the organization, but it does let us operate on an entirely new level. Quantity has a quality of its own, as they say.
 
Let's not forget that it's still up in the air whether or not the galaxy will be invaded by Vong.

As for the factory itself...I mean, I'm all for continuously building our secret armies and the Kiln, even more for expanding out into the Unknown Regions, but I'd recommend against releasing any blueprints. That kind of power I'd really rather remain in Ciaren's hands alone. Same goes for using it to sell stuff. There's going to be plenty up for grabs in the wake of the assassination and end of the war as it is, adding one more of our many sources of wealth with no discernable origin seems like it'd attract more attention then it's worth. Better to continue R&D of lost/advanced technology, keep the cream to ourselves, and sell the rest for ludicrous amounts of money.
 
I should reiterate that the Foundry is solely dedicated to creating ground troops. Starships and starfighters were under the purview of the Star Forge.
 
you mean too say that we as a prominent business person would not have a plan for one of the biggest and most productive droid factory`s in history

our somewhat plan was too use if as a back-up plan for when open war starts and we can make our own droid army`s

Probably would be pretty hard to find, since Karrde and friends stumbled on it by complete accident, IIRC.


As for the Foundry, even if it can't be turned into a bargain Star Forge (Cheriss may be able to :V ) you can use it to create a truly ungodly number of construction droids. Sorta a 'if you can't make the ships directly by space magic, make the workers to do it the old fashioned way' thing.
 
hey cheriss is doing some kind of super mecha right? and the foundery can pump out droids like no ones business? is it possible to mix those two and start pumping out a bunch of cool mecha things?
 
We could also use the foundry to pump out Labor droids who can then build us a proper industrial complex either in the system or elsewhere.
